Consumer Complaint: In XXXX or early XXXX, I asked Navient to pull my loan out of repayment while I was in school for the purpose of securing a FHA mortgage loan ( before the new HUD change ). I needed an actual payment to remain in qualification for the loan, as the mortgage specialist missed this loan on my report. I have since graduated. Nevertheless, while XXXX promptly put my loan back in deferral due to my in-school status, Navient is refusing to put my loan back in deferral citing that I have graduated, even though I just graduated in XXXX and am well within the grace period. As well, I believe there is currently a COVID forbearance, as well. I have emailed to no avail and tried to set up calls. Still, they are adding fees to my loan and have kept the loan in repayment. In addition to being inefficient, it seems like a shady business practice at this point since they know that recent graduates have a grace period. XXXX, there is the emergency forbearance to which all appear entitled. Additionally, we discussed this situation by phone and staff there agreed that it would be no problem to resume my in-school deferral afterward. Something is awry, and it stands in stark contrast to the exact same scenario I have with XXXX, which was handled without my ever having to email or pick up the phone again. Also, they appear to be trying to break the law. " In-School Deferment You are eligible for this deferment if youre enrolled at least half-time at an eligible college or career school. If youre a graduate or professional student who received a Direct PLUS Loan, you qualify for an additional six months of deferment after you cease to be enrolled at least half-time. Consumer Complaint: The following message is being sent multiple times during the week with no recurring schedule. This transcript was captured by our XXXX voicemail system. " This message is from XXXX XXXX XXXX calling on behalf of XXXX XXXX XXXX. You may log in to our website at XXXX or call XXXX for further details to make your payment in full. You will need your reference number and ZIP Code. '' - XXXX Mailbox XXXX has a new voice message from NAVIENT ( XXXX ). Length : 28 seconds Received on : XX/XX/2021 XXXX ( CDT ) There has been no written notification of any debt as required by federal law. We have no reference number. That has kept us from returning the calls because of the obvious scam. There is no information that identifies the recipient of the call, so this is apparently a generic robocall. The web site listed is " under development '' and not a functioning web site. XXXX 's home web site is also not functional. There is no debt owed to our knowledge. There has been no hit to our credit rating XXXX XXXX : XXXX out of XXXX XXXX, so this is not a legitimate claim. The use of Navient implies a student loan is involved. This phone number is relatively new and was not in service at the time any of our children were in school. We have disconnected the phones in the home in order to avoid a daily recording of these messages.

Subissue: Problem lowering your monthly payments
Consumer Complaint: I don't have specific dates or amounts, but Navient, who my unbelievably high loans are through, uses what they call " income-based '' repayment plans. In which they review your bank statement and calculate that they can pretty much XXXX up every available XXXX you have. The only other option is to pay whatever the usual monthly minimums are and because my loans started around $ XXXX, my " minimums '' would basically be the equivalent of mortgage payments, anywhere from {$800.00} to {$1100.00} a month. I don't make that kind of money. Never have. That said however, because it was XXXX, I feel like I shouldn't have to pay even half that.

Consumer Complaint: I've been disputing fraud accounts on my credit report since XX/XX/2020. I keep sending multiple sets of letters to the bureaus and the creditors so the excuse of " we didn't get it '' doesn't happen. Furthermore, each letter is certified mail with tracking and each letter shows signed and delivered and yet the bureaus are still not taking any actions. The accounts are not showing in dispute nor are they removed from my report. The accounts always show up with different name variations and different account number variations and yet the bureaus seem to ignore the trend and let these fraud accounts affect my credit score. I have requested the investigation to be initiated and also verifiable proof to be submitted should the account claim to be mine. Not only have I not received any mail showing the verifiable proofs needed to justify the accounts to be on my report, I haven't even received any letters at all stating the investigations have begun. Per the FCRA and federal law, the process is supposed to be 30 days. 375 days later, I'm still here shelling out money for certified mail with no end in sight and no results to show. This is my last option before I take this up with my lawyers and sue for full compensations and damages incurred. Finally, it seems that when these complaints are submitted, the bureaus are using the excuse that they " can't confirm my identity '' to get away with taking no actions on my credit report. Please investigate this as well.

Consumer Complaint: I think they sold my private information to XXXX XXXX lenders. Horrible and cruel customer service/management Lack of Communication Unfortunately, the prompts before this didn't quite explain my situation. I had just found out that my loans had defaulted and been with Pioneer Credit Recovery ( under Navient ) for a while. I was looking to get back into school to finish my XXXX and begin my XXXX XXXX to, in part, pay back that student loan debt. It wasn't until a bunch of phone calls when my financial aid was blocked that I even knew this company ( evidently in the midst of a pending lawsuit for harmful business practices ) was to collect my debt at all. So, there's one complaint right there. Now, I reached out to them on Thursday, the XXXX of XX/XX/2021 to discuss my options since I would like to get back into school. Their first suggestion? Ask your parents and your friends for money. That is just a cold and cruel request that they know is entirely realistic and they might as well have called me a XXXXXXXX XXXX. Next, they offered the long term repayment plan that seems to be the one that they are being sued for. They offered a quick robo call type explainer on it and I was informed I could ask any questions I had about it. Well, it was a ton of information. I wouldn't even had known where to begin as far as questions go. Felt like a scam to me if I am being entirely honest. And turns out, based on other complaints, it was for many other people. I decided to consider my options and hung up the phone. 3 business days later, on Monday the XXXX of XXXXXXXX XXXX I got something in the mail I had not seen in years ; A letter for a quick cash loan offer from XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX. At first I thought nothing of it, but then I considered my situation. How odd is it that I have this conversation just three business days earlier and suddenly, out of nowhere, I am now beginning to get these types of letters again for the first time in years. So I called them again today Tuesday the XXXX of XX/XX/2021 to find out what other businesses they might have communications or affiliations with. As you might imagine, it was mostly useless and kept being passed on to the next person. Eventually, I got on the call with a manager at Pioneer Credit Recovery Inc. named XXXX XXXX. He consistently walked around my questions, opting to just say over and over again that they communicate back and forth with the government. Eventually though, he mentioned that Navient has communications and affiliation with all sorts of companies. The entire time, he was very cold. When I asked about the lawsuit, his response was that it was just people who didn't want to pay back their loans taking advantage of the system. After the advice and cruel nature of their management and business practices, I do not trust for a second that they are not selling our information to people in an attempt to make money during a time that I am certain they are absolutely hemorrhaging financially. I'm now wondering if this has happened to other people.

Consumer Complaint: I have some student loans with 2 companies, Navient and XXXX XXXX XXXX. Navient I have 3 loans. 2 XXXX XXXX 1 XXXX Unsubsidized After going through a rehabilitation process on all 3 loans the debt was transferred to Navient on XX/XX/XXXX where I started making monthly payments. When COVID happened I continued to make any payments I could and between XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX XXXX I paid {$780.00}. I just found out at the end of XXXX that all my payments, even those made before XXXX, were all used to cover accrued interest. So during this entire time my payments have not had any portion going to current principle but 100 % of the payments have been credited to outstanding accrued interest. When my balance was transferred to Navient the amount was {$18000.00} and now, according to their website, my current balance is {$21000.00}. This is a way to keep people paying student loans for the rest of their lives. How is this even acceptable to those who have been trying to make payments and work to improve their situation? The situation with XXXX XXXX XXXX is completely different. I had 2 student loans with them. 1 XXXX XXXX 1 XXXX XXXX I paid off the Unsubsidized in XX/XX/XXXX in order to continue to improve my financial situation and pay back my obligation. I am currently making monthly payments to the other loan and payments are all being credited to principal balance and interest, like any loan should be.
