Consumer Complaint: I co-signed for my sons XXXX loan which has now become XXXX principle balance. I`ve tried to deal with Sallie Mae and Navient. Often times his loan payment was applied to his other two lower interest loans. He was encouraged by the lender to use the forebearance option without explanation of the consequences. Navient engaged in deceptive practices regarding its policies. Consumer protection for the student borrower and the co-signor were ignored. To be released from the loan was not fully explained. Due to these unethical practices my credit score has been affected. Not only that, but my sons credit is ruined.

I reached out in 2020 and spoke with several reps and supervisors to investigate. i was told that they default status would be dee moved along with all negative credit updates. This was due to Navient reversing back to an outdated email address after i updated correctly. No correspondences was received via that email. A letter is attached that was provided to me as a temporary promise to reversing this error. Please send this to Navient immediately for credit profile to be corrected.

At the time they made promises about Job placement, expected income growth, accreditation, credit transferability ( if that is a word ) and the acceptance of there degrees within the IT workforce. All of it was lies. Dept. of Education : I have since paid off my federal FFEL loans and since they are at a {$0.00} balance I can't consolidate them into a " direct '' loan for refund of the almost XXXX ( estimate ) I have paid over the last 12 years as part of a borrowers defense forgiveness through the Dept. of Education with President Bidens recent loan forgiveness for XXXX XXXX student. I am falling through a crack with that plan. Navient : I tried to file a closed school discharge with Navient that was denied because I had already completed my worthless program before the school filed for bankruptcy. It is well documented that these loans private and federal were fraudulent all of the courts have already decided that ( CFPD included ) I don't know who to chase anymore. Navient just keeps redirecting my calls to debt collectors, debt collectors refer me back to navient, and XXXX is closed. Also there was appearently a class action suit? that was settled in XXXX that I would have been included in, but I moved in XXXX and my servicers did not have accurate address information. I have received no notifications about this suit or do not know how to follow upnon any disbersment from it.

Consumer Complaint: I became severely ill and almost XXXX 2 times. Unfortunately, I lost my job while going thru treatments. The treatments continue and will continue probably for the rest of my life. Due to my XXXX horrible illness, my doctors instructed me to to file for social security XXXX and VA XXXX. Which I did. I was approved for both at full XXXX. I am 100 % total and permanent XXXX thru the Department of Veterans Affairs and on full Social Security Disability. All of this information has been communicated for the last few years with Navient. The company will not listen to you as their customer. I have sent letters from social security and doctors. I have sent letters from the XXXX Navient does not care. They will continue to call you and your family 10 to 15 times a day. They will continue to report negative information every month on your credit reports and completely ruin your credit profile. Navient will put your student loans into default even when they have all of this information in front of them. Due to all of this negative reporting on the credit reports, my wife and I have lost opportunities to rent apartments and or houses in our area. Our car insurance is higher and our monthly payments on the vehicle we have is extremely high.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX : I received a direct to voicemail call from a XXXX area code number. This number is XXXX. Phone records will indicate I have a XXXX area code phone number. I am originally from XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX but currently live in XXXXXXXX XXXX Listening to the 48 second voicemail, it was not someone from back home. It was Navient calling to try to get a payment out of me. Navient and personal banking records indicate {$150.00} payment was made in XXXX with emphasis towards most delinquent loans. This indicates the company is spoofing numbers with the intent to obtain anything of value. Under FCC laws that is illegal. I then received a restricted phone call : It was Navient again. When asked why they used a XXXX number she said it was the address they have on file. Wrong they have a XXXX address on file. Last month they sent in certified mail a copy of my promissory notes. Then she said the company is based in that area. Wrong again. The company 's address listed on certified mail is po box XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX address with a XXXX area code. This is also the address on file with the XXXX XXXX XXXX. Then I heard kids in the background and questioned why I was hearing things in the background and she hung up. Also, according to President Joe Biden, a freeze on federal loans was extended in XXXX through the end of XX/XX/XXXX. My federal loans are in Navient as well. Part of a repayment program I signed up for, my federal loans were consolidated into my private loans. So, this leaves the question if my federal loans are attached to my private loans then shouldn't I also receive a freeze on having to make payments through the end of XXXX? And if so, then isn't it illegal for a company to harass me the way Navient is? This is the second time in a week they have harassed me. They went as far as contacting my mother. When I asked them several months ago to remove all other contact information from my account except for mine. They are mishandling my account. This all started last XXXX. I had autopayments going through using my debit card. However in XXXX of last year my debit card expired. I forgot to contact them with a new card. According to their team who has told me in a recorded line and also it states in writing per the company 's website : they will contact the individual 30 days after a missed payment. However, they did not contact me until XXXX when my account went into collections. Also, I have asked repeatedly for the contractual agreement for the automatic payment program I was on. They have yet to provide that information. Over a recorded line four years ago, I agreed to an automated teller who rattled off an agreement to have payments automatically taken out. If an automated teller has recorded that then it has to be in writing somewhere. I am entitled to a copy of that agreement. But have not received a copy of that agreement. When you agree to the terms and conditions set forth by companies like XXXX you are able to receive a copy for your records. I still have not been given a copy of that agreement however I have asked several times.

Consumer Complaint: I originally attempted to settle/discharge with the State of NJ any alleged tax debt. They ceased all collection activities. Received first letter from XXXX XXXX with Pioneer letter header and responded with conditional notice of acceptance. Also received phone calls from XXXX XXXX, who called my son 's phone as well. Did not receive authenticated requested info. Received second letter with Pioneer letter head from XXXX XXXX which again did not provide verified information and I responded with Opportunity to Cure. Did not receive verified info. Received 3rd letter from Pioneer with State of New Jersey letterhead. Although I'm now confused as to whether or not XXXX XXXX works for Pioneer Credit Recovery or the State of New Jersey. Either way I responded with letter of default as well as damage amount for the damages I have suffered from her antagonizing and harassing collection tactics. These damages are enforced by 15 USC 1692k.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021, we submitted a complaint ( complaint ID ends in XXXX ) because Navient Solutions , LLC has not accounted for several years of payments. We show we've over paid the amount due by more than {$1000.00}, and they still claim we owe more than {$10000.00}. We've since received one notification through CFPB that they're looking into the claim and second that they need more time. Yet 28 days later, Navient hasn't responded to this inquiry and they continue to make harassing calls and sending letters threatening financial and legal actions. The full payment history is available on the website and only took me about 2 hours to reconcile. It shouldn't take this long to add fees and interest charges to the principle and then subtract the payments.
