Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX Dear Person, I am writing in regard to Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( PSLF ). In XXXX, my student loans and my former spouses student loans were consolidated into a Joint Spousal Consolidation loan. For what should be obvious reasons that particular loan consolidation program only was offered for a few years. The major problem with those loans is that when you divorce, you are both still jointly liable for the loan which creates numerous problems. You cant separate the loans under any circumstances it appears and you cant convert them into XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have been a XXXX XXXX and a XXXX XXXX for 16 years, however, I cant even consolidate the loan into a Direct Loan to be able to get PSLF not even under the new waiver program. I have given almost 16 years of my life in public service at very low wages and this is the thanks I get for doing so. I pay {$320.00} a month as my half and on a XXXX salary and now XXXX XXXX salary I barely make ends meet. This is inequitable on so many levels. I have tried over the last 13 years to inquire as to any changes or solutions for my circumstances and always to no avail. Today I spent 2 hours on the phone with both Navient and XXXX XXXX XXXX, only to be told once again that I cant qualify for loan forgiveness. I am begging for someone to please do something to help those of us who were foolish enough to sign on to that Joint Spousal Consolidation program. I have never missed a payment, I have worked in public service for almost 16 years, I am XXXX years old, at this rate I will never be able to retire. Any pension I receive, my student loan payment would equal 1/3 of my pension. Someone has got to do something for those of us in these circumstances. I have written before to no avail, I am hoping someone out there cares enough to fix this situation. Best regards, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, TX XXXX XXXX

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I submitted a dispute, several times now, because XXXX refuses to fix my credit report. My XXXX XXXX loans are all DISCHARGED AND CLOSED. I want them removed. I disputed it with XXXX. XXXX sent me a letter saying Navient is claiming that they are not closed and refuses to remove them. One of the two of them is LYING because I have proof they are closed. This is the THIRD complaint on XXXX. SOMEONE NEEDS TO DO THEIR JOB AND FIX IT. I am ONCE AGAIN submitting proof the loans should be reported as CLOSED.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I have called Navient twice to request that any overpayments of my loan be applied to the lower balance of two loans. On both times, I was assured that would occur, and the lower amount loan would now be paid off. Instead, the amount was applied to the higher balance despite repeated attempts on my part to change the allocation. I was assured that the allocation had been paid. The lower balance loan would be completely paid off by now if they had done so. Instead, the amount I am paying towards the balance has DECREASED and my payment is now only 200 % of the interest rate. It is dramatically extending the life of the loan, and it is difficult to view that as a casual oversight as it is in their interest to continue to collect interest for a larger period of time. The balance is small, but they will not listen to me or reason with me and they actually REMOVED the option to self-service and direct overpayment allocations.

Issue: Communication tactics
Subissue: Frequent or repeated calls
Consumer Complaint: over the last year i have received between 1-4 phone calls a day from a debt collection company called navient. the specific number they call from is : XXXX XXXX no one in this household has ever done any business with navient. we are neither in student or any other kind of debt. they have no legal reason to be calling us. when i unblocked their number & answered the phone, there was only a computer voice on the other end. i have tried writing to them, but got no response. ( navient does not offer an email on chat line to communicate with them. ) at this point i have no other choice but to ask my government to get them to stop the harassing phone calls. i dont know if navient is phising or my number has been somehow stuck in their computer system for the last year. but in either case, they should not be allowed to continue using harassing tactics in trying to collect debt.
