Issue: Loan servicing, payments, escrow account

Consumer Complaint: NationStar purchased my mortgage in 2015. In XXXX 2015 I requested a payoff. Per the XXXX loan payoff notice balance of {$23000.00}, this amount was PAID IN FULL well in advance of the XXXX/XXXX/2015 pay off date. Nevertheless, NationStar somehow claimed a {$370.00} balance due that I have repeatedly demanded NationStar to explain and provide a full accounting. All I have gotten in response is forms and inaccurate and false claims. The NationStar online " dashboard '' continues to erroneously reflect a " last payment of {$7900.00} was received on XXXX/XXXX/2015 '' and " Past due amount of {$1000.00} '' which I also requested be corrected to no avail. Now, I 'm getting billing saying {$2100.00} is 'past due ' on an unsubstantiated and disputed {$370.00} balance. Every assigned 'dedicated loan specialist ' I try to contact is never 'available ' and you get transferred to a 'new ' agent and need to start at step 1 and again explain the problem. NO ONE at NATIONSTAR will address the problem or provide the requested accountings. Now NATIONSTAR is dinging my credit rating by false reports to the credit bureaus ; I discovered the problem the hard way when I was denied credit because of a XXXX point drop in my rating to XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I have my mortgage currently with Nationstar Mortgage. In XX/XX/XXXX/XX/XX/XXXX, I was notified by Nationstar that my policy needed a floodi insurance policy attached and that if I did not provide proper documentation they would buy for me and charge me accordingly. XX/XX/XXXX, I faxed a policy overview of flood insurance my HOA had secured for its tenants and for which I paid for already. When I called the Nationstar customer service to confirm they received my fax, I was told I sent only XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX and then needed XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX as well. So I sent the requested proof to them in the same month. Skip forward to XX/XX/XXXX and I am told that my monthly premium is increasing XXXX dollars per month. I called the customer service because I was quite alarmed. The rep told me that it was Nationstar 's policy to hold 2 times the escrow amount in my escrow account for safekeeping. TWO TIMES. I told my friends and family this since I was upset and they told me that it was completely unreasonable and I should fight it. I called Nationstar again in XX/XX/XXXX to find out again why it was going up {$300.00}. The rep this time told me that I was misinformed and that they only withhold 2 MONTHS worth of escrow for safekeeping - fine, but still why the extra {$300.00} a month? After much searching we find out that they were withholding for flood insurance. The very same insurance I had provided proof I already had through my HOA. I told the rep that I had sent 2 faxes. The rep said he found the first one from XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX. I said I definitely sent a 2nd one for the current year and to check. He said that he found it but no one had updated the system to say that I had flood insurance and that Nationstar did not have to add it to my account. So I have been overcharged for someone 's mistake. And they told me they can fix the error but it will take 30 days to be corrected. So I asked technically for my next payment I will still have to pay the overcharged payment? They told me yes, but after the they reanalyze my escrow, my payment would most likely decrease since I have been overpaying.. I asked if they will reanalyze automatically when the money returns to my account. The rep, XXXX, told me that I would have to CALL THEM TO REMIND THEM BASICALLY TO THEIR JOB. Incredulous! I am now waiting for my refund.

Consumer Complaint: After multiple calls my homeowner 's insurance information is still incorrect with Nationstar. I have provided the information multiple times and have called several times trying to correct everything. Now I have been sent a 2nd and final notice of force place insurance if I do not update my insurance information. According to customer service representatives my information has been up to date and force placed insurance will not occur. However, the final notice letter was sent AFTER my account was supposedly updated. Luckily I am an educated borrower who works with mortgage compliance on a daily basis. Therefore, I know what I am looking at and understand what needs to be fixed. An attachment is included to further detail all the issues I have had in the past 6 months specifically detailing the issues still left unresolved ( shown below ) and what I have done to attempt to correct them. The current issues with my account are as follows : 1. Nationstar is trying to force place insurance on my mortgage in which they have insurance information on file. 2. XXXX should be reflected as paid on XXXX/XXXX/16 in the amount of {$1400.00} not on XXXX/XXXX/16 in the amount of {$2600.00} as that is the amount that was incorrectly paid to XXXX XXXX 3. My online account still reflects my next MIP payment to be XXXX/XXXX/16.

Consumer Complaint: Nationstar Mortgage is the property owner through sheriff sale of the home that shares a driveway with mine. They have allowed squatters to destroy parts of this home, as well as create a serious safety issue as their property has a swimming g pool and the fence that is required by law has been torn down. There is raw sewage in the basement and the squatter is threatening to burn the house down along with the garage which is XXXX feet from my home. My home owners insurance is threatening to cancel me as someone could drown in the pool because it does n't have the required XXXX foot fence. I have contacted Nationsrat to no avail and have requested many times for them as the owner of the property to fix this issue and they refuse to do anything!

Consumer Complaint: We received a notice in the mail regarding foreclosure to our home. We have Nationstar the worst mortgage company I 've ever dealt with. We would have been current on our payment, however they sent back {$3000.00} in payments since XXXX. No letter, no notice until we received something from their attorney. We had paid {$1500.00} in XXXX and with these last few payments we would have been current. However, more legal fees added and " property inspections '' they expect us to pay {$6300.00} for a " reinstatement fee ''. We could use your help please. We were not trying to default and they have put us in this position. Our home is well taken care of and we want to stay.

Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, I was looking over my parents mortgage papers, and noticed that when they bought there house they first time buyers and the mortgage company they went to was XXXX XXXX, there house was priced at {$87000.00} with a down payment of {$3200.00} which leaves them financing {$83000.00} at a 9.347 % interest rate on the loan, looking over the papers, I discovered that they charged them a finance charge of {$160000.00} which is more than the asking price, the total loan ended up coming out to be {$240000.00}, which is almost more then double the price something is n't right here, and something needs to be done about this, they bought there home back in 1996 and still paying off this huge loan when really the house should be paid off, the real loan total should have been {$91000.00}, also in the matter they had a lawyer present through all of this, but looking through the papers his signature is no where to be found on any of the documents, My father would like a reduction on his left over balance of what he owes because this company fraudulently took advantage of them and something needs to be done, the reason we were looking through the papers was my Dad had to refinance through HARP at the time he had a 30 years fixed rate, but he thought he could do better through a HARP refinance. which he found out not to be the case, he thought he was getting a 30 year fixed modification at his age of XXXX years old, that would have been appropriate, the modification was done through XXXX XXXX, they had a program called the XXXX step which part of the loan was at 2.5 % interest and the remainder portion was at 3.0 % interest, but it turned out that was n't the case, he thought the HARP program was going to help but he came to find out that they gave him a 40 year mortgage instead they broke it down to XXXX different percentage pay scales, his intent of getting the modification was to get a 30 year fixed. he did n't want his mortgage to go up, he wanted it lowered because of his age, so he basically went from the fringing pan to the fire by getting his loan modified, being a trusted soul I thought that everyone would do right by him, because of the modification he will not be able to afford it when they do the next bump up on the interest rate, bottom line is that HARP does not help it hurts and needs to be fixed, the total mortgage process has be traded him, That we are seeking justice for all of this.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX XXXX we entered into a repayment agreement with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to catch up XXXX late payment of {$1300.00}. These amounts were paid to XXXX ( # XXXX XXXX via money order on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and by phone transfer confirmation # XXXX of XXXX XXXX, XXXX. XXXX XXXX paid XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX paid XXXX/XXXX/XXXX ) and XXXX XXXX paid XXXX/XXXX/XXXX XXXX of XXXX payments were made to Nationstar also by cashier check in the amount of {$1300.00}. Because of the sudden transfer of our mortgage loan from XXXX to Nationstar, there was an accounting error in whether we were to pay an additional {$190.00} with our XXXX payment to Nationstar. However, we continued to make regular on-time up to date payments as agreed per the repayment plan. Our continued problem has been that Nationstar Mortgage is continuing to show us being behind in our payments by {$1300.00}, even though our records substantiate that we are not behind by a payment. We will concede that if we are behind at all it would only be for approximately {$370.00}. We have notified Nationstar of this discrepancy and/or error on several occasions to no avail. In addition to continuing to show our mortgage by being behind by a month, Nationstar has incorrectly reported this information on our credit bureau files. Any assistance in rectifying this situation is greatly appreciated.

We paid our XX/XX/XXXX payment XXXX/XXXX/16. As of the statement we received on XXXX/XXXX/16, the payment does not show how much went to Principal and interest. The online website does. We have made our XX/XX/XXXX payment on XXXX/XXXX/16 and it has yet to show on their website or the statement. It is taking sometimes up to a month to post a payment. They are also charging a XXXX legal fee. after much discussion and no reason as to why that was charged they finally removed the charge. This has happened every month since they bought the mortgage. I have tried every month since XXXX 2016 to resolve the issue with the payment amount without success,
