Consumer Complaint: Nationstar Mortgage has a new website that requires you to enter your zip code and your full social security number in order to access your account. I have always made my payments online with no problem through their old website. I called to complain, and offered to verify by phone, but they said they can not change the software. That is the requirement. They will take payments by phone, for a {$19.00} fee. You can also set up auto pay, once you get the forms, or mail in your payments. Both choices delay my payment. I have no access to my account for information, including year end tax info, unless I am willing to share my social security number online for any and all hackers to see. I do not understand how Nationstar can get away with this legally.

Consumer Complaint: My yearly property taxes are {$960.00} -- Nationstar Mortgage collected so far {$800.00} in escrow payments, to pay for my yearly property taxes of {$960.00} --. Yet Nationstar Mortgage are still demanding, that I pay an additional {$800.00} -- ( 10 months @ {$80.00} -- ), which means, they want to collect {$1600.00} -- p.y. in escrow payments, even though my property taxes are only {$960.00} --. To my knowledge, they are only entitled to keep a " cushion/reserve '' of {$300.00} -- p.y. Hence, they ought to refund me {$500.00}, to bring down the escrow cushion from the present {$800.00}, down to a {$300.00} -- " cushion '' ..

Issue: Loan servicing, payments, escrow account

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: Nationstar opened an escrow account attached to my principle/interest only mortgage. Regular principle and interest payments were paid on the first of every month via automatic pay through my XXXX account. Those payments started on XXXX/XXXX/15 and have continued monthly through XXXX/XXXX/15. After erroneously opening the escrow account due to lack of insurance without our knowledge or consent, Nationstar credited my payments to the escrow account and not my regular mortgage payment thereby adversely affecting my wife 's and my excellent ( XXXX fico scores for both ) credit rating lowering our scores dramatically. This seems to me to be fraudulent. When I have spoken with Nationstar regarding this matter - several hours total on the phone - I have repeatedly been told that they can not fix this or send me a letter regarding the on-time payment history. Nor, have they made any effort to correct the erroneous credit reporting described above. I am submitting the proof of insurance showing Nation Star as loss payee that I provided to them and a complete mortgage payment history.

Consumer Complaint: COMPLAINT ABOUT NATION STAR. XXXX Banks are involved in this problem ( XXXX XXXX XXXX and Nation Star. ) First complaint submitted about XXXX XXXX XXXX. This is a copy about Nation Star. We had difficulty paying our home mortgage and sold the house on short sale 2013. The mortgage was with XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX approved the short sale and accepted the proceed for full satisfaction of the XXXX ( first and second ) mortgages on the property. We have all the documents to that effect. The second mortgage is entered in my credit report as a debt that I am owing. It is showing in XXXX XXXX and XXXX that the debt was transferred to another lender. In the same report it is stated that the debt is legally paid in full. Nation Star entered it as a delinquent mortgage. It appears XXXX XXXX XXXX sold the mortgage after accepting the proceed from the short sale as full settlement. XXXX XXXX XXXX and Nation Star are in collusion in these transactions. These XXXX derogatory entries in our credit report are adversely affecting our credit rating seriously. As a result we are having great difficulty getting a mortgage to buy a home. This is causing us serious pain and distress..

Consumer Complaint: I had refinanced my mortgage which closed on XX/XX/2016. Nationstar mortgage company still has not refunded my escrow balance ( property tax in this case for {$1900.00} XXXX. I have been in contact with them since middle of XX/XX/XXXX, and each time representatives would assure they are taking a step, initiating the request, and so on. Their original excuse was that they sent the check to XXXX. I called XXXX, and they informed me that they received the payment from new escrow account but never received anything from Nationstar. I was informed that the balance was in the system, and that the check would arrive before XX/XX/XXXX for sure when I called before XX/XX/XXXX holidays. It never came ... After numerous phone calls lasting about XXXX min each time, the representative from yesterday said it would take another XXXX weeks to request the check but would try to expedite to be processed in XXXX business days, which means I would receive the check in middle of XX/XX/XXXX. I was upset and asked to speak to a supervisor. XXXX, supervisor, said he would investigate and follow up with me personally and get the check sent out asap. I really do n't trust anything they say at this point. I refinanced another property exactly at the same time, and the other lender sent escrow refund check to me in middle of XX/XX/XXXX. Nationstar Mortgage company should not take XXXX months longer than other lenders to refund escrow balance owed to customers.

Consumer Complaint: Nationstar XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX CA XXXX We started a short sale with Nationstar in XXXX 2016. We have a buyer who is willing and able to close the short sale. Nationstar has put this property through its in-house auction company that it owns, " XXXX '', two times, so that they can gain the 5 % fee they have named a 'Buyers Auction Premium '' fee. Both attempts by Nationstar to procure their own buyer have been unsuccessful. Since Nationstar was unable to procure their own buyer and thereby gain the additional 5 % auction charge, they have decided to simply not work on the short sale and instead take it back at the foreclosure auction - which is a month away. Nationstar is refusing to entertain the offer by the current buyer we have provided. This offer has not once been reviewed by Nationstar. They have decided this, even though they have ample time to review the offer we provided to them. Does the investor know that Nationstar is refusing to review an offer since it was not procured through the auction company that Nationstar owns?

Issue: Loan servicing, payments, escrow account

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: Basically, NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE continually raises my monthly payment by spending my escrow monies on fraudulent insurance policies which I have no need. The mortgage on the condo that I have owned for 16 years was recently reassigned to NATIONSTAR. I have been assessed fees and increases under the guise of " needed insurance ''. I have never let my property insurance expire since day one. Have annually supplied a copy of the condo master policy with flood insurance coverage and my " wall to wall interior '' policy to NATIONSTAR. Recently I refused another increase and forwarded my regular monthly payment, without their bogus increase, only to be advised that they were not going to apply this to my account. I now get threatening letters that they are going to report me to the credit bureaus for nonpayment. I am XXXX plus years old with a 820 credit rating that I value and do n't need to be threatened by these buffoons. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to settle these issues with letters, documents, and phone calls. I could go on and on. I have evidence to support my complaint. You would be doing the public a service if you could put this company out of business so others wo n't be harmed. Thank you.

Consumer Complaint: My loan was in foreclosure in 2013. I reinstated and brought the loan current on XXXX XXXX, 2013. At the time of reinstatement I paid {$1200.00} of attorneys fees. After 2013 my loan was never in foreclosure again. My current statements shows a balance of attorneys fees of $ {$880.00}. I have asked Nationstar to specifically provide the itemization of these fees added, including when the cost was incurred and to whom the fees were paid. They have failed to provide the requested information.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX 2016 I was sent a permanent loan modification agreement from Nationstar mortgage. I signed and sent back these papers on XXXX XXXX, 2016 via certified mail back to Nationstar Mortgage. I made numerous payments, both the trial payments and afterwards. In XXXX they returned my payment and threw me off the loan modification because they say they never received the paperwork. This is incorrect. The paperwork was sent certified mail back to them. I am not going to start over again, because I have made the trial payments, I will lose my interest rate. I want my modification honored. It is their fault that somebody lost the paperwork, NOT MINE. I sent it to them.

Consumer Complaint: This is a follow up complaint to Nationstar Mortgage. They have responded to my complaint about my escrow account being used exclusively for property taxes. They claimed that they had " inadvertently, '' pulled money out for insurance back in XXXX. The truth of the matter is than when Escrow Analysis was done in XXXX of 2016, they INCREASED my monthly payment to account for the insurance. They have responded by asking my to " re-fund, '' the money erroneously sent to XXXX XXXX, where my argument is that money should have never been sent in the first place and my payments should n't have increased by {$45.00} in XXXX to account for the insurance. This is wrong and potentially unlawful.
