Consumer Complaint: I leased an apartment at XXXX XXXX from XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. When my lease was about to expire, I was informed I could do a month-month lease which will not be bound by any contract whatsoever and could leave whenever I felt fit. I enrolled in a month to month and stayed through till XXXX while also notifying the office of my intent to move in XXXX via a written document that was presented to the office secretary. On the XXXX of XXXX, I turned in all keys and fobs and vacated the apartment with the approval of the manager XXXX XXXX. I submitted a forwarding address to receive any letters that the apartment might decide to send. On XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed a collections account had been filed on my credit report and immediately called the apartment inquiring why, I was met with disdain and hung up on by the worker XXXX who told me she would be sending an itemized bill as to why I was being charged {$4100.00}, she did not however follow up. I called incessantly for months after that and was met with no help. In XX/XX/XXXX after almost 2 years of no communication, I received a letter from National Credit Systems requesting to negotiate my collections, in which I demanded an itemized report and a validity of this debt via email and mail on XX/XX/XXXX, to which none was responded to. Instead I was badgered with calls asking for a negotiation to pay off this debt even after explaining I was not responsible for this and was wrongly charged by the company. This apartment has a long standing extorting its residents. I am a student and have fought tooth and nail to earn the score I have, and this falsely reported collections has done me much harm including my denial of a new apartment and is causing me much emotional distress as I have to move out of my current apartment by the end of XXXX.
