Issue: Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not mine
Consumer Complaint: National Credit Systems Inc placed on my credit that I was high risk for a debt that I was never aware of and a debt that they never made me aware of. I never received any call or any communications even though the XXXX XXXX creditor ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) had all of my information ( my email and place of work that they needed for employment verification to even apply for the apartment complex has not changed in the past 3 1/2 years ; I was a resident from XXXX XXXX XXXX ; employed with XXXX since XXXX XXXX ). With that being said, I also never received a debt verification letter. I was only aware of the debt after I tried to apply with a previous residence and they told me I was declined because of the debt in XXXX. Keeping in mind that XXXX XXXX did n't even know who I was initially when contacted by the apartment complex I was applying for rental verification. Afterwards I went to XXXX XXXX to see what the problem was and I meet XXXX XXXX who is the current property manager. She was extremely unhelpful, of course, and before I was introduced she spoke to her assistant in front of me in XXXX ( she did n't realize that I spoke some XXXX ) about my situation. I asked her about the situation in XXXX and she told me that she could n't give me any information. The only information that she gave me was that they had me moving out on XXXX ( mind you the debt collectors reported " my '' debt to the national credit bureaus in XXXX ) and she said " something about carpet. '' She did n't furnish me with a list of infractions or anything, even after I asked her. All she said was that " she deals with this all the time '' and that it was " out of her hands. '' She gave me an email but was hesitant to give me the name of the person to whom I was sending the email to. The only notification I got from the National Credit Systems , Inc was after I disputed it with XXXX in XXXX and the letter states that they have already reported to all XXXX national credit bureaus. Still no debt verification or contact outside of that letter in the form of email, phone call, or even through my job ( I would n't even mind that if it meant paying a debt that I actually owed ). " We urge you contact our office to begin this process and to avoid other collection remedies available under the law. ''

Consumer Complaint: A review of my credit report shows an erroneous charge by XXXX of {$2300.00} ; for what I do not know. In 2011, I departed my rental unit with all rents paid. Now they seek an enormous sum of money for services I did not incur. They violate the Fair Debt Collection Act and the Consumer Protection Law. Their erroneous credit reporting has severely impacted my ability to live a normal life ; such as rent an apartment or purchase a car.

Consumer Complaint: Received a debt collection notice for a name close to mine but incorrect middle name from National Credit Systems , Inc claiming that I have a {$500.00} debt. They are claiming that I would only have to pay {$250.00} to clear the debt. I believe this collection notice to totally be in error. I have never done business with the company that they list. When I XXXX this Collection Company I found that there are numerous complaints online against them, including being rude on the phone and having erroneous information. This is why instead of calling the company I would try to make things easier and file a complaint here.

Consumer Complaint: Original Creditor XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, GA, XXXX Filed judgment Case # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, the judgment was paid in full for the amount of {$2700.00} and I have a copy of the judgment being satisfied dated XXXX/XXXX/2014 from the creditor and the court. After the judgment was satisfied the account was also turned to a collection agency National Credit Systems , Inc., XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, GA, XXXX for the EXACT SAME ACCOUNT, EXACT SAME ACCOUNT NUMBER THAT I HAVE ALREADY PAID AND SATISIFED IN THE XXXX XXXX COURT. They continue to call and harass me ( which I have blocked their number ) they refuse to listen when I have tried to talk to them and they are violating collection law and my rights by continuing to try and collect on a debt that 's been satisfied. They are also duplicate reporting the debt on my credit records as a collection that I owe. I would sue if I could but would not know where to start.

Consumer Complaint: The reason for my complaint is because this debt was added to my credit report without a debt validation letter. I do not agree that I owe the creditor that the collection agency is attempting to collect the debt on behalf of. I feel that the creditor concocted a debt and sent it to a collection agency without sending it to me to avoid me questioning the debt. I feel the creditor did this because I chose not to extend my lease, even after they offered to reduce my rent. When I originally signed my rental agreement, this home was owned by XXXX.It was later sold to XXXX while I was still under lease agreement. At the end of my lease, I chose to move. I was not aware that this company reported a debt to a collection agency until I attempted to advance in employment and a credit report was pulled. I have sent numerous request to the collection agencies to remove this item, but they continue to find the debt valid. On XXXX XXXX, 2015, I sent a debt validation request to the collection agency, but they have not responded. I sent the letter by regular mail, but I know that the letter was received because I requested that they remove a duplicate item from my report and the item was removed. Please assist me with resolving this issue.

Consumer Complaint: While working in XXXX several years ago I stayed at an apartment complex called " XXXX ''. After fulfilling my lease obligations, I moved back to my home in XXXX were my family stayed during this two year long work assignment. I paid my last lease payment in full, professionally cleaned the apartment and did not think anything else was owed. A month later I went to the apartment complex and turned in my gate pass which I accidentally took with me and took to the day manager, we were friends. At that time there was no information shared on any money owed from my lease and I did n't expect there would be any. I received regular email correspondence from the XXXX complex about social activities and nothing about money owed. Over a year later I started getting collection attempts from National Credits Systems over {$210.00} owed from XXXX XXXX. I called XXXX to find out what was going on but apparently the apartment complex was sold to XXXX XXXX in XXXX and while they had a statement showing {$210.00} was never paid, nobody could answer what some of the charges were far. Nobody was able to help me since they sent the balance due to National Credit Systems. At one point when I was speaking with the collection agency, I identified some items that I may have paid if had known about it but other charges were still not identifiable. I told NCS that I would agree to pay this amount if they would remove the negative remark from my credit score but the agent said she could not. Known of this was my fault yet my credit is penalized for a mistake that the apartment complex made and then correcting this is impossible because it was sold to a residential management business. A consumer should never have to pay for something that they do not owe and to be penalized for this {$210.00} does more to protect business than protect consumers. The burden of proof that all attempts to contact the consumer who is alleged to have not paid for something owed should be on the business. I was not called nor did I get any communication on the amount owed in my email account. I did not leave a forwarding address because I did not want " junk '' mail to follow me home. Too much already. How do I get National Credit Systems to remove this record from my account.

Consumer Complaint: This is a bill the I owe my 1st year of college, I rented an apartment off campus and when school was over I had 3 months left to complete my lease the amount of rent was {$320.00} a month but I was giving a settlement of {$1600.00} for XXXX XXXX from the National Credit System , Inc. I am trying to get this bill paid off but every times I talk to XXXX XXXX she is extremely rude and nasty when I ask her how come my settlement is so much, XXXX XXXX has forfeit the settlement of {$1600.00} only because I asked her for a detail bill for everything I was being charged on my credit report, That is my right to ask a collection representative what I am being charged for especially if they are collecting {$2000.00} with {$1000.00} being in late charges. This collection representative is abusing her position and not giving me a settlement now just because I asked for a detail bill this is against the law when I am trying to settle this bill, XXXX XXXX XXXX of National Credit System continues to abuse her authority just because i do n't know who else to turn to and to get this matter resolved.

Consumer Complaint: I have tried to talk to Debt collectors and get this resolved for the past 3 years with no luck. They are not willing to discuss or negotiate with me about the debt in question. I do not feel that I owe anything because the company who placed the debt broke our contract first by their actions in maintaining a safe environment for the tenants. I have also disputed this account with all the credit agencies again with no luck. This collection is ruining my chances or renting a house as well as purchase a home. I need help

NCS has XXXX debts XXXX for {$500.00} and the other for {$100.00} totaling {$600.00}. Neither amount reflects any amount owed orobligated to The Chesterfield by me. Consumer Complaint: I left a voicemail message for an attorney. I received a call back from XXXX XXXX impersonating an attorney. I then asked for verification of the debt which he refused to do. He then agreed to send me some paperwork and then refused to accept the address I provided him. They have never sent me anything regarding notice of the right to dispute the debt. The information they provided to me over the phone about the debt was incorrect. I have told them numerous times that the amount of the debt is wrong and they still keep trying to collect on that amount instead of requesting proof from the original creditor.
