Consumer Complaint: National Credit Systems persists, after several years, to erroneously report fraudulent information provided by a landlord. Regardless of documented proof, co refuses to address matter. Have made multiple attempts to resolve via phone and mail, just do n't have time to go to court over {$130.00} -- but this unwarranted black mark has had, and continues to have, a substantial impact on my finances.

Consumer Complaint: I previously paid off this collection for an old rental payment of {$1200.00}. Once I spoke with the collections agency and it was paid, I requested the collections to remove delinquency from my credit report and the representative told me that they could not remove it. I confirmed that although the collection was paid in full that it could not be removed and the representative told me they are not able to remove the delinquency.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Problem with personal statement of dispute

Consumer Complaint: A debt in the amount of {$3000.00} from National Credit Systems is being reported on my credit report. The debt in question is from an apartment that I leased. I contacted the company [ National Credit Systems ] by mail to ask for validation for this debt and the accuracy of the amount. I received a response back on XX/XX/XXXX. The company replied by sending the transaction history and the initial lease. ( see attached ). The initial lease was dated XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX ( Dates are wrong on the lease also ) I am being billed a termination fee of {$1100.00}. My move out date was XX/XX/XXXX. Before I moved I notified the then Manager of the property ( XXXX XXXX ) of my intention to vacate the property well within the 30 day in advance time frame so as to avoid the termination fee as per their agreement I was on a month to month basis since no lease renewal had been signed after the original lease. I have also spoke with the apartment complex to verify this amount as inaccurate but they have since changed management.I have made several attempts with the new leasing office to obtain verification of the amount and have been unsuccessful as all I am told is they are under new management I have also disputed this with the Credit Bureaus and National Credit System confirmed the debt as accurate.National Credit Systems did not contact me regarding this debt before placing it on my reports.

Issue: Written notification about debt

Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX I received a dunning letter from National Credit Systems , Inc., dated XX/XX/XXXX stating I owed them {$640.00} for a debt owed to XXXX XXXX XXXX C/O XXXX/XXXX. I responded to their letter requesting debt validation. They replied to my letter on XX/XX/XXXX offering me a settlement offer of 50 % off the amount owed. At the same time, they went ahead and reported the account to the credit reporting agencies. Without providing me the necessary documents or legal paperwork for me to review the account, they placed the account on my credit reports as a way of trying to intimidate and extort me into paying them money for something I do not owe them for. I called their company National Credit Systems , Inc., and spoke to a woman who stated she was unable to explain to me what the charges were for, but that I owed it and needed to pay it. She tried offering me to remove it if I paid the amount closest to {$640.00} that I could come up with. I declined and hung up. Then on XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter similar to the dunning letter I originally received only this time it had a copy of the lease I signed in XX/XX/XXXX. I attached copies of all the letters I have received from this company and others regarding this same account. I responded to their letter and disputed the account and charges and the fact that I do not owe this collection agency any money. On XX/XX/XXXX National Credit Systems Inc., responded with the exact same letter as before with the same copy of the lease. Then on XX/XX/XXXX received a dunning letter from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX claiming I owed them this exact same debt. It appears that National Credit Systems Inc., sold the debt to them after they could not validate the account to me. I responded to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and explained to them how National Credit Systems Inc., could not validate the debt and sold it to them. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX offering me a settlement offer for less than the amount owed. I responded to them and advised them I would not be settling anything with them as I did not owe them a dime. I saw on my credit reports are reporting 30-day late pays every 30 days, and I wrote the credit reporting agencies asking them to remove the account and advised them to validate the debt as well. On XX/XX/XXXX I received yet another letter from National Credit Systems stating the exact same thing over and over again as they have continued to send me the exact same letter with no changes or anything new on it. It is the same copy of the lease. There is no contract showing this company own any debt against me. There is no signature of mine on this debt. There is no proof of what these charges are for. There is no legal paperwork of any kind telling me why I owe National Credit Systems Inc., any monies. Instead they provide me the same letter telling me that they have looked into the dispute and have not found sufficient evidence to validate my claims and that I should provide to THEM the information regarding this account. Like really???? I 'm sick of this! This debt keeps getting passed around to different cities, different states, different companies and I want them to remove it from my credit reports once and for all. My next step is to file a lawsuit against them so that they can pay me for damages and so that they can come and tell me face to face in court why I owe them and explain why they have failed to provide me the required paperwork that I have been requesting for almost 2 years now. Going through the CFPB is my LAST and FINAL attempt at resolving this matter. If they continue to push me around with nonsense, I will have copies of my complaint, all my letters from them, and all the letters I have sent to them as well. I 'm done being bullied by this company and they are getting away with it because the credit bureaus let them. I have disputed this account with XXXX, XXXX and XXXX and neither of them have helped me. I am done waiting around for them to rectify this situation.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Subissue: Debt is not yours

Consumer Complaint: This is a follow-up from a previous complaint ( XXXX ) that was closed, but not resolved. National Credit Systems continues to falsely report on my credit file for XXXX and XXXX. The last response from this company was that they would forward me valid documentation as proof of an alleged debt truly owed to them. I have yet to receive such documentation. Either 1 ) they never sent it or 2 ) They sent documentation to another party and they are reporting the debt under the wrong person. I would like to ensure you have and ONLY RETAIN current, TRUE, CORRECT, COMPLETE, and MANDATED REPORTED information per FCRA regulations, any and all others I DEMAND, as is my lawful RIGHT ( s ) to do so, that you annul and all deficient of any condition, mentioned or not! I DO NOT AUTHORIZE you to mis-report any mis-information now or ever, please review and ENSURE your adequate and full accordance to the laws upon which govern your practice of reporting consumer credit profiles.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Subissue: Debt was paid

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX was the original creditor. I reached out to them and the manager at the time the alleged debt occurred. They did verify I did not owe them because of prior arrangements with the office manager which were in writing and verified with corporate. This collection has been disputed because it is not valid. I have repeatedly asked for the rent roll on my account. All documents from the alleged debt and reciepts of payments made on my account along with allocation of non returned deposits etc. The collection company can not provide this. They have failed to provide the oroginal date of collection and continue to change the date so as not to have to discharge from my report. This is illegal. It needs to be deleted immediately or I fear I will have to file suit for malicious debt collection on a debt not owed.

Issue: Written notification about debt

Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX I was wrongfully evicted from my apartment in XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Tx. I was able to get another apartment in my name over the next two years without any issues. When I applied for a job in the summer of XX/XX/XXXX I was denied because I had {$6900.00} in debt from a collection from XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Georgia. I assumed that XXXX XXXX XXXX sold the remainder of the lease to XXXX XXXX XXXX. This collection agency directly prevented me from getting this position I was applying for, and other apartments later in life, and they have never reached out to me to verify the debt. They have never tried to contact me in regards of anything concerning this proposed debt.
