Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I have been disputing 2 accounts with the credit bureaus for sometime now. Each time they would say that National Credit Systems would verify the debt. So I took it upon myself to ask National Credit Systems for validation of the debt. Are they legally able to collect on the debt? How did they calculate the amount they claim I owe? How do they know I am the owner of the debt? Im curious because I have never done business with them or the original creditor. Well, it has been more than 30 days and I still have not received anything proving the debt is mine. They received my letter on XX/XX/XXXX. Here is the tracking XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was under the impression that if they didn't respond it would automatically deleted from my credit reports. Silence is being in agreeance. I am sure there is a law that proves it.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 I wrote a letter to National Credit Systems , IncXXXX asking them to verify/validate the debt they state I owe. XX/XX/2021 my letter was sent via Certified Mail to " National Credit Systems XXXX Inc. XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX, GA XXXX '' XX/XX/2021 the letter was received and signed for. I waited the 30 days to receive a response from National Credit Systems Inc. I NEVER received a response to my letter, then on XX/XX/XXXX National Credit Systems Inc. reported the debt AGAIN to the credit bureaus. Given my rights, I know that if the collection is not validated within those 30 days then the debt collector must remove it from my credit and halt reporting it. National Credit Systems IncXXXX has not validated the debt and is unlawfully reporting this debt to the credit bureaus.

Consumer Complaint: I was never contacted about this debt or given a chance to respond to it. I don't believe the debt to be valid and I am currently gathering evidence to dispute it. This alledged debt was never verified and placed on my credit report without anyone ever contacting me at any point in time by any medium. On Saturday XX/XX/XXXX, I received a notification from XXXX that my credit score had changed. I pulled my XX/XX/XXXXand XX/XX/XXXX credit scores and found that I had a complaint against me from a company called national credit systems. This was for another company called XXXX XXXX. I called them both on Monday XX/XX/XXXX and it turned out that XXXX XXXX received a claim from an old apartment that I used to live at called XXXX house apartments. On Monday the manger of XXXX house apartments informed me that XXXX house apartments decided to replace the carpet after 7 years. I had lived there XXXX of the time. They charged me XXXX of the cost of a new carpet. I'd asked why they never informed me of this, she claimed to have sent a letter to an old address of mine on XX/XX/XXXX. I'd never received this letter despite living there at the time and having mail forwarding for this address until XXXX or XXXX. They also had my phone number and email address and never bothered to message me on those mediums either. My last contact with XXXX house apartments was with the XXXX who had told me that due to covid ( in XX/XX/XXXX XXXX that they wouldn't do a formal walkthrough with me. She'd told me that I was XXXX, and there were no observed damages. Apparently. sometime last year they made the decision to replace the carpet on my dime, despite there being no clause in the lease allowing that. As replacing normal wear and tear isn't something covered by the lease. They sent it to sure deposit as a claim. Then sure deposit says they don't actually attempt to contact people. They sent it on to national credit systems for collections. National credit systems claim to have sent a bill in XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXX/XX/XXXXMi. Which I had moved out of in XXXX of XXXX. My mail forwarding from that address lasted 3 months from XXXX of XXXX to XXXX of XXXX. If they actually sent a notice to the wrong address 6 months after I moved out, I would have no way of actually getting said letter. They also never called or emailed me, despite sure deposit a subsidiary having a copy of it. The representative I spoke to claimed that they called my number, but was unable to produce any logs of the calls. They also reported the wrong phone number as mine on my TransUnion credit report. I believe they called the wrong number. I actually rented an industrial rug washer from the hardware store and washed/cleaned the carpet before turning the keys over on XX/XX/XXXX into a dropbox because of covid the office at XXXXXX/XX/XXXX apartments would not meet me in person.

Consumer Complaint: I had a debt of {$310.00} to an appartment complex due to a randomly assigned roommate smoking in the apartment and me being charged with a smoking fee. I refused to pay because it was not legitimate but fast forward a couple years and now I am looking to buy a house. According to my lender, simply paying the debt would not raise my credit score but having it removed from all 3 major beauros would raise my scores significantly. I explained this to the representative with whom I talked about payment of the debt. I agreed to pay on the condition the debt was removed from all 3 major beauros. I checked their website for a confirmation and the letter only showed the debt as being paid off, not removed. I called back and they claimed that they can not put the removal in writing as it is against their policy for some reason. When I asked for copies of the phone recordings in order to see if they mentioned this before the transaction they refused to send copies. So now I have no proof other than their word that they actually removed the debt like they claim to have done and am forced to wait 60 days which means I could miss out on an opportunity to buy a home before I have to re sign my apartment lease ( different apartments than the one that charged the smoking fee ).
