Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: National Credit Systems has placed a collection on my credit profiles claiming that I owe {$190.00} to XXXX at XXXX. I have never had an account with XXXX at XXXX and this claim is erroneous. I have contacted them 3 times via phone and certified USPS letter asking them to verify this erroneous debt. They have failed to do so. They have not verified it because they can't verify because the debt is not mine.

Consumer Complaint: I obtained my consumer report and saw inaccurate and illegal information being reported and Pursuant to section 15 usc 1681a under the exclusion section number B states that anything extended or authurized from a credit card should be excluded from a credit report. According to definitions section 15 usc 1602 ( i ), the term credit card means any card, plate, coupon book or other credit device existing for the purpose of obtaining money, property, labor or services on credit. This is meaning a credit card from a bank of any form is not allowed on my consumer report and in fact they are illegally reporting information to my consumer report. This information can not be verified or accurate unless the company interviews with neighbors, friends, or associates but however such information shall not include specific factual information on a consumer credit record obtained directly from a creditor of the consumer or from a consumer reporting agency when such information was obtained directly from a creditor of the consumer or from the consumer, according to section ( e ) of 1681a definitions. I am in disbelief of this matter and my ability to obtain credit has been hurt because this company has not followed the laws that has been set in place.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021, I'd applied for a one bedroom apartment with XXXX XXXX XXXX located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, OH XXXX. On XX/XX/2021, community managers XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX sent an email notification to inform me that my application was denied. When I did not hear back from XXXX XXXX XXXX about the return of my security deposit in the amount of XXXX XXXX XXXX dollars, I'd ask my bank to dispute the amount of my security deposit. On XX/XX/2021, my bank credited my account with the security deposit in the amount of XXXX XXXX XXXX dollars. XXXX XXXX XXXX opened a collection account against me with National Credit Systems by creating a balance of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX dollars that I do not owe. National Credit Systems threatened that the balance with XXXX XXXX XXXX will damage my credit if I did not pay it. I do not owe this balance. My concern is not only for myself. XXXX XXXX XXXX may be in the practice of charging prospective apartment renters for the money for security deposits that they never return to applicants who are denied rental apartments.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: National Credit Systems , Inc mailed a collection notice to my home address and I received it approximately XX/XX/XXXX. I emailed them that same date to dispute the debt. They didn't respond. I followed up with emails on XXXX, XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. I have requested verification of the debt and I sent them a copy of a court judgment I had showing that my landlord actually owes me money. My bond agreement regards landlord : XXXX XXXX. The landlord on my lease is XXXX XXXX. I have a judgment against XXXX XXXX. The debt is therefore not valid. At first it seemed like they were claiming they didn't have my address, which is false, since I received their original notification in the mail. I also spoke with them on the phone on XX/XX/XXXX and told them they had my address correct. I have also called and requested verification on the following dates : XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. Their workers get mad at me when I ask questions. One of them hung up on me when I asked what she meant by validation of the debt. They often put me on hold and then never answer my call, so I resorted to leaving voice mails. I snail mailed them my request for verification and included the address where they should send it. I even followed up by sending them a self addressed stamped envelope. I'm starting to think this may be a scam. I'm not really sure why they would list an email address on their website and then not ever check it. That seems shady.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX filed a collection against me through National Credit Systems. NCS claims they validated the debt but all the have a is what XXXX XXXX claims to be a bill in my name. The issue lies in that XXXX is claiming I had late payments on rent and other fees that dont make sense and should not be under my name. I had a roommate at the time and each rent was paid individually, I have receipts of each payment I made each month so there should be XXXX claims about late payments. In addition, I was supposed to receive my security deposit which XXXX XXXX never returned. Not to mention the XXXX tension of charging me a security and not my roommate when we both started our leases at the same time, we had the same income, she had either worse or just about the same level of credit score as me at the time. No co-signer and somehow I was charged a security deposit but she wasnt. I want XXXX XXXX or National Credit Systems to prove where this debt is mine and where these claims are coming from or immediately delete this from my credit score. I have proof of each payment made each month as my lease was of $ XXXX each month and each month I paid in time or early. Not to mention I also have documentation of receipts from this company of both my roommate and I submitting maintenance requests for a dishwasher that was overflowing in water and wasnt working for the first 4-6 months of us moving in and they did nothing to fix it.
