Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I went online through M & T Bank and paid off my vehicle {$5700.00}, however I never saw the transaction go through in my XXXX XXXX account, so on XX/XX/2023 I paid off my vehicle again. I went to the M & T branch in XXXX, NY and spoke with XXXX on XX/XX/2023 to stop the transaction. She stated don't worry about it because it was pending and M & T Bank should kick back my money. I called XXXX back on XX/XX/2023 and told her I still did not get my money back. XXXX stated I should check my XXXX account on XX/XX/2023 as I should be reimbursed my money then. I received my letter in the mail stating my vehicle was paid off in full. I was not and so, I called the M & T Bank in XXXX again on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX hours. This bank had yet to reimburse me my money and it has almost been a month since the transaction.

Consumer Complaint: The M & T Bank blocked our checking accounts in XXXX caused us checks to be bounced and mortgage payment to be delayed without any notifications and proper reasons. To resolve this issue, we had spent more than 4 - 5 hours calling several M & T Bank operators and managers at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. However, none of the M & T Bank representatives were willing to tell us why our accounts were blocked nor helped us to resolve the issue. As a result, I filed a complaint to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to resolve this issue on XX/XX/2023. XXXX XXXX XXXX on behalf of the Office of the M & T Bank President emailed me to contact XXXX XXXX for assistance with our account concerns on XX/XX/2023. I called XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, and got no response. So, I left a message on his answering machine. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX again and got no replies. So far, we have never received his calls or voicemails. It has been more than a month that we still have not received the proper reasons why our accounts are blocked, and none of M & T Bank representatives would try to resolve this issue for us. Nevertheless, we really want to move on beyond this agony and depressed problems with the M & T Bank.

Consumer Complaint: This complaint is to prevent constant bad treatment from Peoples United Bank ( See Affidavit ) now M & T Bank. This is most importantly to ask the Federal Reserve Board, the Federal Reserve Examiners and Regulators, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in their powers and rights, to save me, my mortgage and my XXXX against ongoing odious treatments, retaliations and further financial discrimination by M & T Bank and to provide relief of previous actions that caused me harm. ( See Affidavit ). In XXXX and XXXX I sought to diversify my business and acquire a mixed-use property for both living and performing business. Being concerned of a new lawsuit filed by the business property landlord I had and continued persecution in the area where I was conducting business, I contacted M & T Bank, which was my bank in college, to transfer service to their bank and apply for the commercial loan to modernize my business instruments in the brand-new location. Since XX/XX/XXXX, I have been going back and forth to the same M & T branch in XXXX XXXX where I resided at that time to extend the request. The branch manager managed to help me in different ways, however never been able to do anything for me or my business. I proceeded anyway to open an account in XX/XX/XXXX after I disbursed two checks of {$20000.00} and {$25000.00} to the landlords attorney in care of the landlords issue of non-payment to see if I could hold the previous place of business for a while amidst the transition to my new mixed-use property, but also followed my objective to apply the rest of my available fund to save and transfer the XXXX to my new designated place. In continuance of the search for that extra loan I revealed to the branch manager that I was closing on a mixed-use property in XXXX with a mortgage company, surprised, she insisted to give her the business, to bring my closing paper to her so she could help me with both getting the mortgage with M & T Bank and also increase my chance to get the extra loan with the bank to get instruments and improve the basement to back the payment of the loan with the business on premises. Since this was my idea to save the XXXX from the eviction proceeding in the business previous address I agreed and brought her my closing documents. While processing the mortgage documents, she realized and revealed to me not to be surprised that M & T was finalizing acquiring Peoples United bank as well that the accounts I open with M & T can be merged so that everything can be in one place. She offered me a credit card for the business and made me speak to another M & T representative that does SBA 7A loans to help me with the business part. I did everything to get the fund I needed to back the mortgage as it was promised with the bakery on premises at my new mixed-use property, however little I expected, they took the mortgage, and months, after back and forth, rejected the business loan request by their underwriter ( see Affidavit ). Now that I completely moved through a business eviction process known by both M & T and Peoples United Bank ( see Affidavit ), M & T wanted nothing to do with me. As described in the attached Affidavit, M & T is registering my late payments and continues to act ominously to make me lose my assets. My XXXX has been making bread for 48 years in XXXX XXXX, New York. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX is capable to pay the mortgage, yet after taking my mortgage and my mortgage services, M & T pretextually keeps me at bay, prefatorily accuse me of employee abuse ( see letter ), closed all my personal and business accounts including my credit cards, menaced me of adverse means if I go to their branches, they request no contact except online, while they keep processing my mortgage payments with lapse of time and predicament, they expect one day I will financially collapse because I will have no bakery to back my mortgage.

Consumer Complaint: On or about XX/XX/2006 I have contracted the purchase of two 5 family buildings four mortgages were established two main accounts and two piggy back accounts. XXXX M & T Bank raised the interest rate from 9.5 % to 11 % without any contractual basis, furthermore I have requested a payoff to potentially pay these mortgages off they were charging me charges which seemed unlawful such as recording fees, other funds due ( which are not detailed ) release fee, and a payoff letter fee all of whom are illegitimate and not contractual. They are not willing to show me any legitimate documents that allows them to request these high interest rates which I have been paying for 14 years with no incidents, or request these payoff fees. M & T has really engaged in a racketeering enterprise.

Contacted M & T and representative assured there would be a correction and that proper payments would be credited On XXXX a payment of {$2800.00} was made. Unfortunately the payment was credited to only one month. However the payment was clearly for 2 months. There has never been a 30 day late payment on this account.

And they are closing my account before solving the issue.

Consumer Complaint: After the forbearance period ended between the mortgage company and I ( XXXX XXXX XXXX etc ) the process to sell my home was rushed so that I would not be able to keep my home with all parties involved. Particularly The Louisiana Homeowners assistants fund and M & T bank. I submitted an application for the XXXX amount well before XXXX a long with all associated documents but my application was put in withdrawn status in order to push the length of XXXX and foreclosure process forward. Im also an XXXX with a XXXX and feel Ive been discriminated against. I tried on more than one occasion to handle the problem myself. The amount stated above would have cleared my balance so I could continue my monthly payments to my mortgage provider.
