Consumer Complaint: On or around XX/XX/2020, I was the victim of debit card fraud. As a result, M & T Bank incorrectly reversed 5 legitimate transactions with the merchants, that were not not apart of the fraud I was victim to. The amount of {$600.00}, was incorrectly reversed from the 5 separate merchants and refunded to my bank account. I explained this error to M & T Bank via telephone on or around XX/XX/2020after it was brought to my attention by a " reversal of payment '' notice from my cell phone provider. I was told by M & T Bank that the bank would withdraw the funds of {$600.00} from my bank account on or around XX/XX/2020 and redistribute the funds accordingly to the correct legitimate merchants. As of XX/XX/2020, the merchants have not been paid, even though M & T Bank collected the funds from my account onXX/XX/2020. I would like my money back so that I may pay my pass due debts that M & T Bank has created. I've called M & T Bank well beyond eight times over the course of 2 months, but to no avail. On XX/XX/2020 I physically went into a branch located at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, PA XXXX to address these issues in person with documentation I had, and I was unjustly accused by the banker of being dishonest. I politely left the branch, and I have researched other means and entities to address this issue. I would like my funds of {$600.00} reimbursed to me so that I may pay off the merchants that provided me service. I do not trust M & T Bank to re-disburse the funds to the merchants at this time due to their negligence. I am requesting a thorough investigation by M & T Bank so that the proper actions are taken to protect their customers from incidences of abuse like this in the future. Consumer Complaint: I called MT BANK to discuss options of reducing my credit card debt or monthly payments on a balance that currently requires over {$300.00} of min payment per month, due to the COVID-19 situation in which I was left unemployed. I talked to somebody who just told me to go to a website and get the " help '' from there. I was previously on that website and the only options they have were for mortgages and car loans and the like, and nothing that could be of help in my case, there were hardly any options for credit card owners and the only thing available was if my account was in " bad standing '', to use a form to apply to get it back to good standing. At the present moment, I'have not missed a payment due but I will in the next weeks and my call to the bank was to inquire about the ways to prevent that, by arranging some sort of alternative payment so that I don't lose my " good standing '' status! I am currently under a 0 % promotion, which will automatically turn into default 25 % or something like that if I skip a payment and will automatically incur THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF FEES AND PENALTIES, which I am naturally trying to avoid!!! This was clearly explained to the representative, who replied " WE are a business and you can apply for hardship relief only AFTER your account IS PAST DUE '' .... Basically they told me that they WILL CHARGE ME EVERY FEE, INTEREST AND PENALTY THEY CAN, and then start looking into my application to see " if '' they can do anything about that!!!! After repeating to the representative that I do not want to end up in that " after the fact " situation, she just told me " have a nice day '' and hung up!!!!!!!!!! I can not imagine a more blatant, brutal and arrogant disregard of somebody's hardship situation and sincere attempt to keep " good standing '' status!!!!!!

Consumer Complaint: My mortgage was sold to this company. I have late payments from XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. From the very first day, I have had issues with their mobile app. I have for the several months listed above had multiple issues adding a bank account and other issues. I have never had any late payments. I spend more time trying to add a new bank account and having payment returned because the system kept using my old bank information. I am completely frustrated and null to this company. I have asked them to sell my mortgage to another servicer and they have refused. I attempted a dispute to the credit bureau to no avail. I attempted to resolve the issue directly with this company and still no resolution.

Consumer Complaint: I called M & T Bank at the onset of COVID-19 to inquire what their options were going to be in the wake of the pandemic due to the possibility of my husband potentially losing his job. Their website stated they would process deferments, when I asked about that, they said it was an error and they would not do deferments, only no negative credit reporting and forbearances. I thanked them for their time as we were not certain at that time if my husband would lose his job. In XXXX of 2020, I received a call from M & T bank inquiring our financial situation as our FORBEARANCE was coming to an end. I told the agent that I never requested a forbearance and had made all of our payments on time. She said she took us out of forbearance even though I never asked for it. The next week, I get another call for the same purpose. I said the same thing, that we never should have been in forbearance, I repeatedly asked how that even happened and she said when I inquired about payment options that they put us in forbearance to help us out. I told her over and over that they legally can not do that. I work in XXXX and I am aware of the implications of a forbearance. My husband went to pay online today and it gave him an error that he can not pay on the mortgage due to forbearance restrictions. I called again and she said the payment is in their system. I would like a letter from M & T Bank stating we were never in forbearance.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, MT Bank has my mortgage account and they have been incorrectly reporting my balance to the credit bureaus. My current outstanding principal balance is {$300000.00} according to my statement, MTBank website and their customer service representative. MTBank reported to credit bureaus on XX/XX/2020 that my balance is {$310000.00} and on XX/XX/XXXX it has reported my balance as {$310000.00}. Please note that according to MTB statements and their customer reps my balance is still {$300000.00}. My credit score dropped by more than 10 points over this balance adjustments that are incorrect. I spoke to MTB rep in XXXX, who was very rude and told me that he doesn't know who is reposting this that I should file paperwork with XXXX. I did, and XXXX came back to me saying that this is a correct amount according to lender. I spoke to MTB again in XXXX and was told to fax them my credit bureau information. I did it the same day and was promised to hear back by XX/XX/XXXX. Today is XX/XX/XXXX and I still haven't heard back from them! Also in comments on this account on XXXX it says - " Student loan - payment deferred '', which is WRONG, it is not a student loan. I don't know who is doing this but they need to be retrained to not make mistakes on customers ' credit files. This is an unacceptable mishandling of my information and I expect it to be fixed immediately. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: I took a forbearance of my mortgage in XXXX and XXXX of 2020 due to being furloughed from my job. I was told by the agent from M & T before accepting the forbearance that this would have no effect on my credit because I was current on my loan prior to taking forbearance. My house sold and the loan was paid in full on XX/XX/XXXX. I went to get another loan and found out my credit rating was 75 points lower than were it was prior. When I pulled my free credit reports I can see that M & T reported me as LATE both XXXX and XXXX and I show 60 days late/delinquent for XXXX. Under the CARES act this account should have been reported as CURRENT not late and it should have no negative effect on my credit rating. Looking at my credit reports there is NO DOUBT that M & T reported negatively. It's the only adverse account in my entire record. I would like this corrected immediately. I've tried to get M & T to correct it and they refuse.

They were, at my request researching a missing deposit in the amount of {$4700.00}. They just dropped anything they were doing and closed my account, the notice that they were closing said it would close on XX/XX/15 which would allow me time to receive my social security check which is deposited into the account, instead they closed it on XXXX. Consumer Complaint: I opened a checking account with M & T Bank and have been unable to obtain an online account. I was not supplied the proper information in order to open my online account and I called twice and no one know how to direct my call or rectify the situation. I have since tried to close my account and have called 3x and was told I need to get the balance to zero. Once I was able to get the account to zero, they said the charges are pending and now there will be a service fee while I wait for my account to get to zero. I am being charged for an account I have not had full access to or been able to use. Customer service has not been able to help me. I would not have incurred these fees had the account opening been properly managed and there had not been unreasonable requirements to close it. I do not know how many fees I paid since I do not have access to my account. I would like my checking account closed immediately and all funds reimbursed via check for all fees paid to date. I do not believe I should have to pay an account closure fee or future fees because the account was never fully opened and functional for me.
