Consumer Complaint: I 'm XXXX years old and my KeyBank account has been compromised. By a attorney who has used fradulent documents to get access to my account. Which has allowed this attorney to get my privilege information. Which include my checking, saving and my investment information. When I first contacted KeyBank no one seemed to know anything about these actions. I went to court several times and there was no attachments. Then after the last time going into court this attorney told the court that he had my money. With out my knowledge I 've never been contacted at any time in regards to this issue. I feel very violated I never had any judgements at all never even been to court about this. Just out of the blue he choose my name to include in his scam. Preying on the XXXX trying to get there money which is basically stealing.

Consumer Complaint: I am attempting to sell my home and the closing date is set for XXXX XXXX, XXXX. Key Bank holds the second mortgage on the property I am attempting to sell. This is my second complaint that about Key Bank ( my initial complaint XXXX, dated XXXX/XXXX/XXXX ). Please refer to that complaint to provide a full context. I went under agreement to buy a new home, and to sell my current residence, in XXXX XXXX. Key Bank, for four months, was refusing to provide documentation that was being requested by my lender, and was the sole reason I was unable to obtain a mortgage commitment by the date set forth in the agreement of sale. They only provided the documentation as a result of my complaint with the CFPB. I was able to obtain a mortgage commitment for a new home, but, as a result of the refusal of Key Bank to cooperate, I am having trouble getting to closing on the property I am attempting to sell. After I lost my original buyer on XXXX XXXX, XXXX, I called Key Bank to arrive at a settlement amount. I am eligible to do so because I filed a Ch XXXX bankruptcy in XXXX, and Key Bank is my second mortgage. I needed to settle with Key Bank because I have new buyers that are paying significantly less for my property. Please note that the original buyers ( i.e. that walked away on XXXX ) were paying enough for the home to enable me to pay back Key Bank in full. I only needed a settlement amount because of Key Bank 's past refusal to cooperate, and I only need an extension because of Key Bank 's past refusal to cooperate ( the subject of my initial complaint ). I currently have a settlement agreement with Key Bank that is valid until XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. The buyers of my home can not close until XXXX XXXX, XXXX -- after the settlement date runs out. I have been informed by Key Bank that I can pay after XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, but that is not acceptable to the closing services company who is attempting to ensure there are no outstanding liens on my home after the closing. They need it in writing, which Key Bank, at the time of this writing, is refusing to do ( even though they have given my a verbal acceptance, and have it attached as a " note '' to my account.

Consumer Complaint: I have had issues with my Keybank account for 6 months. I have been with Key Bank since XX/XX/XXXX. Only in the last 6 months have I had issues with my account having fee 's. I can write a check and make a cash deposit to cover that check. Only to find that a week later a auto pay that should have been declined was paid and my checks were not. Seeing that I had paid these long before the auto pay came out it should have been paid. No, I was charged XXXX return fees. ( then more fees 2 weeks later as the checks where re-ran without notice ) I have gone into the bank to clear up a few issues as my savings account had hidden fees and was not told about it. I went to a branch and asked to clear it up and was told my account was closed with no notice and there was nothing that they banker could do. I called the phone banking system and told this to a phone banker and was told that they process the highest payment first and do not process transaction in the order that they have received Them. Because of this policy I have been charged over {$800.00} in fees XX/XX/XXXX. It is XX/XX/XXXX I have not touched my account for a month and it has grown to - {$420.00} dollars. I have been reported to XXXX with no notice and this has seriously affected my income and my finance 's period. I have gone into branches and called in several times and get told there is nothing they can do for me. I want my fee 's paid back and my name cleared out of XXXX I should be reported for a bank account with hidden fees that the bank will not make right.

Issue: Problems caused by my funds being low

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: Over the past month I have written many complaints against Key Bank. I am writing this last complaint to simply sum up the issues that I have with this bank. I hope that the bank will be audited for excessive overdrafting again in the future. I had XXXX accounts with Key Bank, a personal checking account and a Hassle Free account. The Hassle Free account was attached to my personal checking account as an account that my teenaged son could use. He is a XXXX since he was just turning XXXX. The Hassle Free account issued a debit card with his name and I was able to transfer funds from my account to his account easily. Often, I would get very close to a XXXX balance as I live pay check to paycheck. Often I would deposit money through an ATM machine which would theoretically give me access to XXXX dollars immediately. However, through Key Bank 's magical accounting system, when the ledger would be managed by the bank, items would bounce because actually there was not immediate access to the money through the on line account. I have several copies of my account and my son 's account as the bank was performing its processing during the evening and night hours. Often, the ledger shows a huge negative balance while the processing is happening. It 's hard to understand how a large modern bank like this has such antiquated accounting processes. I have an account in another bank and all transactions are immediate and neat. There is no messy, convoluted, unclear and dishonest practice that results in excessive overdrafts. Anyway, the result of my complaining was that Key Bank closed my checking account. I did not ask for this. This created complete havoc in my financial life. I had to stop direct deposits and go to another bank to open an account for me and my son. When I talked to XXXX the representative of Key Bank who closed my account she did not even understand that the Hassle Free Account was my son 's and was connected to my personal account. She was going to leave the Hassle Free account open. So not only does key bank participate in magical accounting that results in excessive overdrafts for folks, but key bank also does not pay attention to its costumers and participates in retribution. Lastly, for the years that I was involved with this bank, items would sit in the pending section of the account. Sometimes items would sit there for 10 days. But since Key Bank decided to close my account, items cleared within one day, even those items that were charged against the account by my son who is in another city. This shows that Key Bank purposefully leaves items in pending after which they reorder the debits to put the account in negative status. I know that my complaining as I have could make me seem crazy and also that folks could argue that I do not manage my money well. But I represent many people who have no assets and who live pay check to pay check. This bank is notorious for these practices that I have highlighted over the last two months. I hope that at some point, Key Bank will be held accountable for their dishonesty and poor customer service. In the last year, I have paid the good part of XXXX $ in over draft fees. I do not have that money to give to Key Bank. XXXX the customer service rep said that she valued my patronage. Well, if that were true, then I would have had the overdraft fees refunded to me as I requested and Key Bank would not have tried to punish me by closing my account.

Issue: Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed

Subissue: Debt is not mine

Consumer Complaint: My ex wife and I had a HLOC and a note on our lake property which I now live in since we are divorced. The court order mandates that I maintain payments on the debt which I have done every month. We have never missed a payment until Key Bank stopped taking payments out of my account. The actual Key Bank debt was discharged from me in XXXX but my ex wife is still liable for the debt. She did not let me know about the note due at the end of XXXX since she had all the documents. That is when they stopped taking payments out of my account and did not notify me ... I had to find that out on my own. After a series of calls I findly contacted their outside counsel who instructed me to continue to make payments and I have. I received a letter on around XXXX XXXX, XXXX stating they were going to start foreclosure. I have told them all along to roll the note over into my name ... no cooperation. The whole issue is over a legal piece of paper not about failure of payment!! The bank has put themselves in a position of not wanting to solve the issue. I have talked to outside legal counsel and they are scratching their heads as well. I need someone to intercede on my behalf to talk with the bank because every person I talk with gives me a different answer ... mean time they are pushing for foreclosure internally while the banks outside legal counsel tells me to do something else.

Issue: Dealing with my lender or servicer

Subissue: Keep getting calls about my loan

Consumer Complaint: Every month i pay my bill on time. However the last two months i have been receiving constant phone calls as if i am not paying. Each time it some company associated with Key Bank. They are stationed in the XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX was in XXXX. When i start to complain they transfer me to some one at Key Bank. I ask why they are calling me and they just give me some run around with no actual answer. That is however not the worst of it, my father co signed my college loan with me. So they call him as well. They called him 7 times a few days ago. But the bill was paid. I could not understand. I have about 6 missed calls on my home phone from them. at this moment. If i am paying my bill on time, every month why are they calling me like i am a criminal. And it is not a cheap bill either. I pay almost {$500.00} a month to these people.

Issue: Using a debit or ATM card

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: I have opted out of debit card overdraft, meaning they should decline all debit card transactions when there is no money in account. They put through a XXXX charge which overdraw my account by {$3.00} and they assessed a XXXX dollar fee. I called and they were able to reverse the fee and it left my account negative. I was not informed if I left it negative they would then assess another XXXX dollar reacurring fee. Now because they waived the XXXX fee there is nothing they can do I ca n't even close my account until it is paid, because I will receive another fee because I only get paid once a month.
