Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/ I was called by what turned out to be a scammer. My caller ID displayed Chase and their local branch telephone number. The called stated he was the Chase Fraud department and asked if I made a transaction which I did not. He said my debit card was being canceled and I would receive a new one in 7 to 10 days. I asked what I would use in the meantime ( which was foolish ) and he said he could enable an XXXXXXXX XXXX account, just type in 6 digits to a text which I did. The call then dropped off and I became suspicious. I checked my online account with Chase and saw several smaller transactions totaling XXXX dollars deducted from my account. I contacted Chase Fraud reported the loss and they said they would investigate. Several days later I was informed they were denying my claim because I supplied the scammer with information. They said I could reopen the claim if I could supply documentation proving my whereabouts at the time of the fraudulent transactions. I was at home talking with the scammer at the time! The transactions occurred at Chase 's local ATM over 15 minutes. Someone sat at the ATM and withdrew the funds during banking hours under I assume a security camera and with tellers in view of the ATM. Chase will not investigate that. I filed a police report and they said they hope I will be refunded, which I was not. My cell provider can't identify my whereabouts and I have no further options. I have closed my accounts at Chase and after 15 years I will no longer do business with them. I am mortified I fell for the scam but feel Chase does nothing to protect their digital banking. They have a disclaimer stating they will never call clients and that is the reason they are denying my claim.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I purchased a hotel reservation via XXXX for a stay XXXX. When I received the confirmation email for XXXX, I immediately called the vendor and reported the inaccuracy. This was done well within the 24-hour window, established for travel cancellations for any booking made in the USA. Much to my frustration, I had to argue with someone who barely spoke English, who was programmed with a machine like voice to tell me that the reservation is not subject to cancellation. The person knew nothing about the 24-hour window rule. Also, the vendor de facto had no way to address discrepancies due to its own software. I then had to purchase another reservation, and this time it was correctly dated. One of the two reservations, however, should be null and void.
