Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: I enrolled in my credit card company 's auto-pay program to avoid having to worry about forgetting to make a payment. The options were " minimum payment due '', " statement balance '', and " fixed amount ''. They provided a list of definitions of the options and wrote that the minimum balance due was the amount due such that payment would not be considered late. Nowhere in the definition did they explain that although your payment would not be considered late with this option you would begin to accrue interest on the remaining balance of the card. I believe this to be an important piece of information that the company left out and a way to charge hidden fees to customers at extremely high interest rates.

Consumer Complaint: I rented a car with an XXXX rental car company by the name of XXXX XXXX XXXX through XXXX for four days XX/XX/XXXX through XX/XX/XXXX. I paid in full through XXXX. I returned the car as planned on Friday XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX at the designated XXXX airport lot. I filled the gas tank at the airport XXXX XXXX before returning the car. I parked the car in the XXXX XXXX XXXX half of the lot ( shared with XXXX ) and gave the key to the employee wearing a XXXX XXXX shirt. He said that it was OK and they would email me my receipt. My wife and I then took a flight from XXXX to XXXX at XXXX XXXX. The next day I flew to XXXX XXXX. They have not emailed the receipt to this day. Instead, they claimed that I had not returned the car and charged me an additional day of rental. I reached out to them, they told me that they would investigate what happened, but haven't gotten back to me with an answer since then. I disputed the charge with my credit card company ( Chase ) but they said that unless I had a receipt proving that I returned the car they could not help me. So, I am caught in a XXXX situation. The merchant is not responding and my credit card company is not willing to help. I am attaching the XXXX credit card statement showing the gas charge on the XXXX at the XXXX XXXX gas station, the XX/XX/XXXX credit card statement showing the rental charge with XXXX, and a statement from XXXX XXXX confirming that I flew to XXXX that day, and my initial booking from XXXX.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: I recently applied for a credit card through CHASE. When I applied I was immediately denied. After receiving the Adverse Action letter with explanation, it became apparent what was happening. In accord with the Truth In Lending Act produced by Congress, the definition of " Credit '' is the " right '' granted by a creditor to a debtor to defer payment or to incur debt and defer it's payments. Since the banks recognize the Uniform Commercial Code and abide by the rules of said code, I am cognizant of the fact that I am at the age of majority and legally competent to understand UCC 3-306. UCC 3-306 states that a person taking an instrument ( my application ), other than a person having rights of a holder in due course ( CHASE ), is subject to a claim of a property or possessory right in the instrument or its proceeds, including a claim to rescind a negotiation and to recover the instrument or its proceeds. A person having rights of a holder in due course takes free of the claim to the instrument. This situation is unique because commerce is run and regulated by Acts of Congress. One of these Acts being the Federal Reserve Act which specially in Section 16 that my application for credit to any Federal Reserve Agent is considered to be a collateral security. This security can be sold for CHASE the bank to profit off from. I hope the problem here is obvious at this point. When I was denied the extension of credit, by CHASE, I gave CHASE a financial asset that could be sold, but I received nothing of value. I granted CHASE my private credit. This is completely inequitable. Because the SEC and FTC oversees Securities, my next steps would be to do formal complaints, FOIA requests and next to bring legal action. I take this very serious and appreciate the opportunity to make my voice heard through the power of the CFPB.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: Subject : Dispute of Incorrect Collection Status on My Credit Report Disputed account : JPMCB AUTO FINANCE/ open date : XXXX XXXX, XXXX Dear Sir/Madam, I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to formally dispute an erroneous account status that is currently being reported on my credit report. Specifically, I am disputing the status of my auto loan account, which was held with Chase Bank, as it is inaccurately listed as being in collection with a balance of {$0.00}. I believe this information is not only incorrect but also damaging my credit profile, and I kindly request your assistance in rectifying this issue. The details of the situation are as follows : In XX/XX/, I was involved in a significant accident resulting in a total loss of my vehicle, which had been financed through Chase Bank. Despite the loss, I continued to make my monthly payments on the auto loan to ensure that my payment history remained unblemished. I maintained these monthly payments through XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX, even though I no longer possessed the vehicle. My intention was to prevent any late payment notations on my credit report, demonstrating my commitment to fulfilling my financial obligations. In XXXX, my insurance company, XXXX, officially confirmed that they had settled the outstanding balance of the auto loan. As a result, I ceased making monthly payments to Chase Bank. In XXXX, I received a refund from Chase Bank for the payments I had made beyond the date when the insurance company had covered the balance. This refund confirmed that my financial obligations were indeed met, and there was no remaining debt. It has come to my attention that despite the timely and responsible nature of my payments, my credit report indicates that this account is in collection with a {$0.00} balance. This inaccurate representation is severely affecting my credit score and overall creditworthiness. I kindly request that you promptly investigate and rectify this situation. The account should reflect its accurate status as a closed auto loan with a XXXX balance, as it is not, and has never been, a collection account. I believe that this correction is essential in restoring the integrity of my credit report and ensuring that my credit score accurately reflects my responsible financial behavior. I have attached supporting documentation, including proof of the insurance settlement and the refund received from Chase Bank, to substantiate my dispute. Please review this evidence carefully and update my credit report accordingly. Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue, and I look forward to a favorable resolution.
