Consumer Complaint: I am a victim of imposter scam. A XXXX based dating app scammed my out of {$25000.00} USD. The bank recalled {$5000.00} but would not recall the other {$20000.00}. What can be done about this? Plus a company called XXXX said if I paid them {$3000.00} then they can help me recover these funds. Can you tell me if this company is legitimate?

Consumer Complaint: I contacted Chase to inform them about my identity being stolen and how i have begun to take steps to protect my identity which included filing a identity theft report with the government, putting a freeze on my credit, and starting the process of obtaining a new SSN. Chase however got back to be claiming that this is in fact my debt and that i will be held responsible for it. Not sure what brain power went into that conclusion but that was probably one of the biggest financial mistakes they will ever make as i plan on filing a lawsuit against them if they refuse to acknowledge my identity was stolen and that this is not my debt. Do they not realize when someone steals the right information they can get everything about you? Apparently not because they seem to know everything. They claim its my responsibility because they mailed correspondence to my address which doesnt prove squat that its my debt and they also said something about a phone number which literally anyone can make up on the spot. I had crackheads living at this residence and i have no idea what kind of XXXX they pulled but they are now long gone. I can easily prove my identity was stolen as i have mountains of evidence, can they back that up with a mountain of evidence that its my debt? Nah they are just money hungry and dont care about my identity being stolen and they just want money one way or another well they certainly aint getting it from me as it is not my responsibility.

Consumer Complaint: I received a text message starting that there was a problem accessing a Chase account due to an issue with XXXX. I do not have a Chase account. My XXXX account is linked to a different bank and has no current or pending issues. The text message provided a link to undergo verification procedures and prompted me to respond with XXXX if I not longer wanted to be contacted. This is by far the most convincing text scam I have been sent.

Consumer Complaint: Dear CFPB, I am writing to report a possible deceptive practice by Chase Credit Card, which I recently encountered while using their services. Today, I attempted to set up a Pay Over Time option but was unsuccessful. However, upon reviewing my transactions, I noticed a separate transaction from XXXX XXXX for {$340.00} on XX/XX/2023, which was successfully set up as a 9-month installment plan with monthly payments of {$38.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. I have the email evidence to support this. The issue is that I do not owe this amount as the merchant had already refunded the {$340.00} on XX/XX/2023. Despite the refund, the balance still reflects this payment, even after successfully setting up the installment plan on XX/XX/XXXX. The banks explanation is that I can set up the plan like this, but I find it an inadequate justification. It is evident that if someone were to forget about the refund from three months ago or have cognitive difficulties like XXXX, they might end up making the payment. In this case, Chase would profit {$340.00} from this apparent mismanagement. I am concerned that this could be a deliberate trap or, at the very least, a mismanagement issue. Regardless of the reason, if such misconduct is proven, it should be subject to regulation. I request your intervention and supervision in this matter. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I had Amazon orders, not getting approved, that I submitted on my Amazon XXXX Chase VISA credit card. I Called Chase and was told it was a address problem, that Amazon wasn't using an accepted address by Chase. I verified and made sure Chase had my new address, which now, matched Amazon 's. Problem solved, not. No order approval. Called Chase again, now told my account balance exceeded my credit line, {$2800.00} balance and {$2400.00} credit line. I make a phone payment of {$2500.00}, but hours later my bank balance reveals, payment not made. Call Chase, they say a special team, needs to handle this large payment and that is five days away. I protest long and hard calling the situation ridiculous. Call Amazon, tell them, the same and Chase is not doing it's job. Hours later my bank balance reflects payment made. I figure matter closed, not. Chase now says, they will sit on my money, until the XXXX, for some verification process. Again, I call, this ridiculous. To no avail Chase says money in limbo, until the XXXX. I add no interest for held payment,, too. I made a good faith payment, expecting, it to be applied to my account, free up credit line and get orders approved, I get nothing but delays. I am just asking, for Chase to do the job.

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Didn't receive advertised or promotional terms
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I opened, online, a Chase Freedom Unlimited credit card with the promotion " Earn a {$200.00} bonus after you spend {$500.00} on purchases in the first 3 months. '' I have screenshots of this offer. A few minutes after I applied and was approved for this card on XX/XX/2023 I called a Chase representative who verified the promotion and expedited shipping of my card. On XX/XX/XXXX I called Chase to schedule a payment and to review the promotion again. I needed her to confirm the exact date the three-month period would end to ensure I spend {$500.00} before that day to get my {$200.00} bonus. She reviewed the promotion and confirmed the date. I called Chase for the third time regarding this promotion on XX/XX/2023, to double-check/confirm the exact day/end of the three-month period. On this call, I was told there was no promotion on the card! I spoke to a supervisor, I think " XXXX '', who escalated the complaint to marketing to have these two taped calls pulled and listened to. On XX/XX/2023 Supervisor " XXXX '' told me the calls were listed too and the Chase representatives were reprimanded for the misinformation I was given. Namely, that I had this promotion ( I applied for ) attached to my Chase Unlimited Credit Card. On XX/XX/2023, the Marketing department denied to apply this promotion to my card and closed the case! I had no other options.

Consumer Complaint: To whomever it may concern, Extreme negligence in regard to handling my checking account on the part of Chase Bank has led to excessive junk fees from multiple credit card and banking institutions, considerable emotional distress, and lack of access to my funds. In XXXX, I merely sent a secure message on Chase Bank inquiring about the potential of closing my checking account, as I've had many problems with Chase this year. The representative responds by saying " The account will close when there are no pending transactions and there is a XXXX balance, '' despite never having actually given the go-ahead to close the account. As such, I first attempted to use my money to make credit card payments. These did not go through, despite funds being available, resulting in inordinate fees. I then attempted to merely transfer my money to my other checking accounts. These transactions also failed for no valid reason, as the funds were available. Then, on XX/XX/XXXX, Chase had the audacity to charge yet another {$12.00} junk fee for the account " monthly service fee, '' despite claiming that the account was closed and holding my funds hostage. This incompetence has cost me hundreds of dollars in junk fees for situations well beyond my control for payments on accounts in good standing that were just making an extra payment. I expect Chase Bank to refund all of these fees and either pay the fees incurred on other cards due to their clear administrative error on their end, contact my other banks and have them removed, or reimburse me for the costs. The statement and scheduled transferred dates attached to this complaint demonstrate that sufficient funds were available each time Chase denied a payment of transfer that resulting in a junk fee from a banking institution.
