Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Fee problem
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, two transactions were fully processed through my Chase bank checking account. One of the transactions was for {$35.00}, and one was for {$110.00}. On XX/XX/2023, I deposited {$220.00}, covering both transactions and leaving a positive balance in my bank account. I followed my agreement in depositing to the account within 24 hours, and I was still fraudulently charged two fees by Chase Bank. I opened a case with the executive office, and they refused to refund me. I have transaction details as proof of my deposit and dates. The dates on the executive letter from Chase Bank denying my claims contradict the dates on my transaction detail page. Chase Bank is committing a blatant unethical act of fraud by a large bank ruthlessly charging illegal fees to consumers like myself. I closed my account immediately because I do not support unethical banks, and I was a victim of Chase Bank 's illegal practices. I would not be surprised if these practices result in the many class action lawsuits Chase Bank has already had over illegal fraudulent fees.

Consumer Complaint: As has been previously documented with this company on a monthly basis since XXXX XXXX XXXX, I opened a " Chase Plan '' for 18 monthly payments - no interest - no fee- as confirmed in writing by them on XX/XX/XXXX. This no interest plan should end XX/XX/XXXX. Despite this they have charged me incorrect interest fees- most recently {$34.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and {$35.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. Total of {$70.00} I have paid for all my new purchases in full. I have even apparently prepaid the purchase amount in the chase plan in full early. I have sent corresponding documentation every single month. I have called the customer service line and spoken with a representative who indicates that I have no 18 month chase plan. It makes absolutely no sense that any finance charge should have been applied to this bill in XXXX and XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, XXXX I sent a check by mail to pay for a service I received. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX the payee said he did not receive the check. By the next bank statement the check had been cleared by a bank and the check had been altered. It was signed on the back by an unknown person who also added his/her name to the front of the check. I then made a claim to Chase bank regarding the stolen check, and they promised to resolve the problem within 120 days at the most. It is now 7 months later and Chase has still not reimbursed by account. I have filed a police report number XXXX. I have reached out to Chase multiple times and I still have yet to hear a positive response.

Consumer Complaint: The complaint is regarding my Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and ability to file customer complaints with Chase. 1. I had a reservation booked with points at the time I closed my Preferred Card. It was voluntary closure as we decided to open Reserve card in stead. As my travel plans changed, I had to cancel that reservation. Chase declined to give me back points worth ~ {$450.00} that were used for the canceled reservation or to transfer them to my new card. Stated reason was that rewards not used withing 30 days of cards closure are forfeited. However, I started attempts to claim the reward points or cash equivalent back immediatly upon canceling the reservation. 2. Chase does not give customers ability to open complaints and track their resolution. When I attempted to file complaint regarding the above issue, I was told that when/if Chase representatives create complaints, they send them elsewhere to be processed. They do not give complaint numbers to customers to allow following up on resolution. There is no way for customers to know if complaint was actually filed, and no way to learn how it was resolved. Moreover, it was only from the third representative agreed to file a complaint on my behalf and the two just flat out refused.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: I opened an account with Chase early this year. Last month I was applied to get a loan for school, one of the companies that called me needed to verify that I had an existing checking account and I provided them with my information for verification purposes. The company issued the loan Via check into my account and the check was fraudulent. I contacted Chase right away and was told to go to a branch so they could close that account and reopen me a new account. I went to a branch and informed them of what happened, they closed that account and a new account was opened and new debit card ordered. 2 days after opening the new account Chase closed the new account. When I called customer support I was told that It was a risk with me banking with them and I could not bank with them anymore. I had already discussed with them more than once that I was a victim of fraud and had they looked at my account activity they would see that I never had any issues with my account until I had applied for a school loan. The bank teller educated me on how to prevent fraud from happening on my account and Chase still closed my new account and restricted me from ever opening an account with them.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Can't close your account
Consumer Complaint: I closed my checking account with Chase a couple of years ago. People close accounts for any reason, but in my case, I went through a divorce. For my surprise, I still continued to receive emails about my credit journey. At one point I receive letters from chase to open accounts etc ..... They would not allow me to open an account stating that I was a customer. Even for promotions, they would state on their banking system that " I was already a customer. The account I was told was closed, but I don't believe it for a moment. They flagged the account as " closed '', but they keep all the data everything on

Consumer Complaint: Letter sent to the Chase Bank Fraud dept. on XX/XX/XXXX : This is the second time my Chase credit card has been fraudulently used in the amount of {$5000.00}, card # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I called the Chase Card Compliance dept. on XX/XX/XXXX to close my credit card permanently. I don't think my Chase Credit Card was closed permanently on XX/XX/XXXX. I now know my card was closed permanently on XX/XX/XXXX. How did this happen when I was trying to be proactive and close my account on XX/XX/XXXX? I had a fraudulent charge on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$5000.00} with a previous card. I subsequently closed the credit card due to fraudulent usage. This was a fraudulent transaction based on the following from the XXXX Financial Conduct Authority ( FCA ). The XXXX Financial Conduct Authority ( FCA ) has issued a warning against XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX XXXX Subsequently, consumer protection sites ( see XXXX ) and regulators in XXXX and other countries have also warned against the scam. The warning has disappeared from the FCA website, but many other websites on the Internet still reference it. We assume that XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) lawyers have intervened with the FCA. Fund Recovery is just not a business that requires a license. It is also, unfortunately, unregulated. In the view of the somehow damaged XXXX XXXX brand, it makes sense to work through the partner XXXX XXXX
