Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23 I had a charge on Chase bank statements for {$160.00} that was not authorized by me. I called my bank to dispute the charge and file for fraud and they temporarily put {$160.00} back on my account. Chase sent me a letter on XX/XX/23 to inform me that my claim was denied and they are removing the money from my account. In their letter they stated to contact them if I would like to request the information used for their research. I called again and was given no information as to why they denied it. The representative said that I can mail them additional proof for this charge. The charge said it was from " XXXX XXXX XXXX CA XXXX. The only company I had found was a shop on XXXX. I don't have an XXXX account and have never made a purchase on there. I also include my transactions from my XXXX account to confirm that I had never made a purchase with those dates, amounts, or company. Weeks went by and I never received a call, email, or letter with any information so I called again only to be told that my claim was still denied and they can not put the money back on my account. This should be illegal. Each time I called every representative gave me contradicting information with no solution. They would not give me any information on the company that took my money and I was not able to find a phone number or address online so I still have not been able to contact " XXXX '' to resolve this issue. This would be my last hope in getting my money back.

Consumer Complaint: Chase , Inc., refuses to remove a reported late payment for unauthorized transactions that, were not only removed, but acknowledged that they failed to inform me in time. The merchant responsible for the unauthorized transactions has put in writing that they mistakenly charged the card and reached out to the bank to try to reverse them prior to the credit reporting.

Consumer Complaint: I just received alert from XXXX that an account had been opened at JPMorgan Chase On XXXX, JP Morgan Chase reported a bank account opened with your SSN. Company : JP Morgan Chase Reason : Inquiry Inquiry Date : XX/XX/2023 Phone : ( XXXX ) XXXX I tried calling the number and you can not get a customer service person unless you provide an account or credit card number. I then googled JPMorgan Chase Fraud Dept and after trying 3 different numbers, and finally XXXX finally gets me to the " Fraud Department '' and the XXXX XXXX I spoke to XXXX XXXX who said he couldn't give me an other details to identify him except his Managers name ( Jaise ), whom he would not transfer me to and XXXX has no ability whatsoever to as someone who is supposed in JPMorgan 's Fraud Department to identify the account and close it... XXXX was more focused on being as absolutely condescending as he could possible be instead of listening to me explain I HAVE IDENTITY THEFT ON MY CREDIT REPORTS SO HOW EXACTLY DID JPMORGAN JUST allow someone to OPEN AN ACCOUNT!? XXXX 's response was to begin to explain to me how a checking account is opened. Seriously. HE ASK ME FOR NOTHING but my SSN, so how the ___ he could verify that I am the person with the SSN when I just told him someone opened an account fraudulently. So, to JPMorgan Chase. I did not open an account with your bank... ever. AND I request you provide me the information needed, where the account was opened, what State, what identifying information was used so I can file a new police report and notify the FTC that JPMorgan Chase is opening accounts for people 's whose credit reports are flagged for identity theft. And yeah, what was XXXX 's answer. Call tomorrow. Talk to someone else.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Cashing a check
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I deposited two checks to the JP Morgan Chase Bank ATM located at their XXXX, WY branch at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, WY XXXX. One check was from my employer XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) for the amount of {$990.00} The second check was from XXXX which was an inheritance check received from my deceased mother 's recently closed account for the amount of {$2700.00} After depositing both checks in the Chase Bank ATM I was giving an error stating the checks could not be verified yet both checks were accepted and the money was taken from the checks and placed on hold for 10 days to verify the issuer. After 10 days I returned to Chase Bank and spoke with a banker to attempt to resolve the issue and was told Chase Bank needs to call XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX and verify both checks by Chase Support staff. Chase support attempted multiple times to reach out to XXXX and verify the check. The issue that arose was that XXXX does not have a phone number that banking services may call and verify issued funds. Chase Bank will only accept phone numbers from businesses that can be verified by their fraud department through their internal service. Since XXXX doesn't have a phone number financial institutions can call and since Chase Bank does not have a phone number for XXXX in their fraud system I am essentially stuck in an endless cycle of attempting to verify my funds and being denied. After this first attempt at verification, Chase Bank proceeded to terminate my two checking accounts since funds had been on hold for longer than 10 days, and paid out my remaining funds in those accounts. On XX/XX/2023 I called Chase Support and got on with a representative who then called my employer, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to verify the other check, my paycheck. The representative was able to call my employer through the phone number in their verification system and was able to speak to my employer and the person who issued the paycheck. The Chase representative then told me he received all the information he needed and that my first check, the paycheck would be verified. This same representative then stated he was also able to reach someone at XXXX and was able to verify the issuance of the {$2700.00} check. This Chase representative stated both checks were verified and were to be sent to the fraud department at Chase Bank and to call back in one week to make sure the funds were verified and to go through the process of how they would issue me my funds. I called back on XX/XX/XXXX and was told by Chase Support that since a holiday occurred during that time the checks were still not able to be verified and to check back in a couple of days. On XX/XX/XXXX I attempted to contact Chase customer support once again about the verification and distribution of my funds and was informed by this representative that none of the verification attempts that were made were successful and that my funds would still be on hold. I have since contacted Chase Bank every single week after this incident attempting to resolve the issue and am met with the same response that the funds are not able to be verified. I have called Chase Bank customer support multiple times and have asked the representative for a solution to this issue and am always met with the same response. I have also called and asked to be elevated to their executive department or to speak with a supervisor and have either been denied or told there were none available for me to speak to. I have already had the funds verified and the process completed yet Chase Bank still refuses to cooperate and release my funds after almost two months of them withholding a total of {$3700.00} that I desperately need. I would very much like to have this issue resolved and this stressful situation be over with.

Consumer Complaint: I was based and worked in New York for XXXX from XXXX until my retirement in XX/XX/XXXX Before I left NY, I cleared ALL my debts and closed all my accounts including credit cards at both J.P Morgan Chase and XXXX XXXX XXXX. However, despite all my accounts with a XXXX balance being " allegedly '' closed, I discovered In XX/XX/XXXX that BOTH Chase and BOA are still charging my accounts with monthly " bank fees ''. In XXXX I spent close to {$200.00} in phone calls to these respective customer services at these two banks to ensure that my accounts were closed. They allegedly " reversed '' these fees stating that was an automatically generated " system issue '' and that they would pass on the information to the appropriate department. I refuse to spend any more money contacting these two Banks due to their lack of customer service, diligence and banking compliance. I am now back in XXXX XXXX since XX/XX/XXXX and recently discovered that BOTH Chase and BOA have been charging my allegedly " closed accounts '' Monthly bank fees for XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. In each bank, my accounts have an overdrawn account balance of - {$24.00}!! ( Refer to attached screenshots ) In my case, they are deliberately " failing '' to close my accounts. Although being in XXXX XXXX I could " ignore '' them. However, I would do so at my own peril. Left unchecked, these unpaid bank fees will eventually attract default payment fees, referral fees to bailiffs and the likes eventually Courts fees added to the lot with a warrant to arrest should I ever put a foot in the USA ( or even transit via the US ) with the outstanding amount totalling thousands of US Dollars for one individual. I would be grateful if your office could address and expose the bank 's rot at the expense of the average consumer. Thank you for your time and consideration. XXXX XXXX ( XXXX )

Consumer Complaint: this is follow up to complaint ID XXXX. When I looked on your site to follow up on the status of this complaint your site says Closed. Yes, Chase bank did send me a reply but, to be blunt, it was double talk and did not give me a satisfactory answer to my complaint. I have tried to contact XXXX at Chase bank as instructed in their letter but I can not seem to get through to her. If you look at their letter of XX/XX/2023 the 3rd paragraph is their answer, or excuse, for my problem. To me it is unintelligible.

Consumer Complaint: Chase Bank / Southwest Airlines Card Fraudulent charges on XX/XX/2023 XXXX for {$550.00} and XX/XX/2023 XXXX for {$800.00} both from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX On Monday, XX/XX/XXXX, I immediately called Chase Bank and reported the fraud. Cards were cancelled, new cards were shipped second-day, charges were taken off my account. On XX/XX/2023, my account shows a charge from that same hotel in the amount of {$600.00}. When I contacted Chase again about fraudulent charges, the representative told me that charge was " from the old card. '' When I asked how that was possible since Chase allegedly closed my original card, I was transferred to another person. That person told me I would need to contact the fraud investigation department, but they wouldn't be in until Monday. Looking at my statement, it shows an " adjustment '' type on the {$600.00} charge which leads me to believe they somehow feel those were legitimate charges, which they can't be because I was nowhere near XXXX or XXXX XXXX on those dates, in fact was in XXXX XXXX at a concert and then XXXX XXXX for a birthday celebration.
