Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Can't close your account
Consumer Complaint: I have an issue with Chase Bank starting from XX/XX/XXXX which I had reported before but I am still receiving emails from them to my XXXX account. Someone opened an account in XXXX around XXXX in my name randomly. I never went to file a police report because I ended up homeless and losing my job. I have never banned with chase bank ever in my life and been a XXXX XXXX XXXX customer for years now. I was living in XXXX, XXXX for XXXX years but I relocated to XXXX, XXXX in XXXX XXXX this year. I relocated to a different state but now I am still getting emails from Chase Bank with the most recent one dating back to XX/XX/XXXX. I just can not believe this account is still opened with my information, the customer service team I spoke with last year was really unhelpful to close it. My personal information has been on a credit freeze for a long time now since last year because of the situation. I can not even see the balance, any transactions, or login into the chase account. I asked chase to provide me the account number but they refused to give me anything. I remember calling where someone told me that it was duplicate accounts under my name but they were all closed. Please closed this account because I have not used this account at all and its simply not mines.

Consumer Complaint: I leased a car for 36 months and made lease payments through Chase Auto. I made all payments on time and returned my vehicle to a local dealership after the lease was up. The dealer said there were no problems with the car and signed paperwork to confirm I returned the vehicle. Attached is paperwork from the dealer stating there was no collision damage or vehicle abuse. A few weeks letter I got a letter from Chase Auto stating that there were {$10000.00} in damages and had an itemized list. None of the damages made sense including broken headlights, dings, scrapes, chips, etc. I asked for photos and for MONTHS they just continued to send letters and call me without sending photos. They tried collecting less and less from me each time acting like they were " forgiving '' me for some of the debt, meanwhile there should have been none in the first place. FINALLY they send me photos of the vehicle which essentially showed XXXX of the damages they described. At this point it is just my word against theirs and I am out of options.

Consumer Complaint: We seems to have a problem with JP Morgan Chase, recently we have issue payment to Chase account holders and the withhold the funds with no reason and take days and weeks to release the funds with no excuses. On XX/XX/2023 we issue a check from our company for USD {$50000.00} the check got clear from the account the same day from our account at XXXX XXXX. Nevertheless, the funds were not clear at our supplier bank until XX/XX/XXXX. This is an ABUSE! From Chase by withholding funds and abusing from clients. On XX/XX/XXXX we send a wire transfer to an individual at JP Morgan Chase for USD {$40000.00} and as of today XX/XX/XXXX funds are not available and they send a message to our bank XXXX XXXX that the wire was XXXX, nevertheless they do not return the money and they play with the funds. There is something going on as it is not normal. Not sure if JP Morgan Chase has any financial problem, it is very weird that this is happening, we do understand that banks play with consumer funds, but it seems like Chase is going beyond normal

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX, I canceled my XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX. I realized later that I was still being charged, I called and they canceled it again and back dated the date to XXXX. I then called Chase business accounts dept to notify them to stop payments. I explained what had happened, they opened a case and later told me that they couldn't stop the payments, because of that I was charged over draft charges, a total of 11 altogether. Well after lots of going back and forth and 3 audits at XXXX and XXXX, I was refunded XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, so I called XXXX to request the refund on the 11 over draft that I should have never been charged. XXXX charged me up to XX/XX/XXXX. Chase told me that they would not refund me the over draft. I am requesting to be refunded for the over draft charges, which if they had stopped payment as I had requested, would have never happened.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX of XXXX I first filed a complaint about a Chase credit card opened fraudulently using my social and name. I Filed another complaint XXXX about the same credit account still being charged to my name. I also learned there were XXXX fraudulent Chase bank accounts opened in my name and XXXX was used to make payments on the credit account. Chase replied I was responsible because of those payments from bank acct XXXX to credit acct XXXX. I have repeatedly sent the sheriff case # on this identity theft to Chase, plus D>L>, utility bill and XXXX card bill to prove my address was not XXXX. XX/XX/XXXX & XXXX Chase dated letters stating they confirmed that I did not open accounts ending in XXXX and would notify EWS to update negative credit reporting. Upon calling Chase credit fraud dept to ascertain that having the bank accounts confirmed as not me fraud would also confirm the credit account XXXX was not me fraud. I was told a payment was made in XXXX from an account in my name at Bank XXXX XXXX. I travelled the XXXX min XXXX way journey to a XXXX XXXX XXXX nearest me and upon their searching for any accounts using my social they found none. Today I received a letter from Chase XXXX XXXX XXXX stating because i made payments from XXXX to credit account XXXX I am responsible. It is obvious that Chase can not handle their own investigation. I request a full intervention by this bureau.. I have wasted time, energy, gasoline and spent all my patience. They keep going in circles and continue to give me false information.

Consumer Complaint: For my JP Morgan Chase United Credit card, I was offered an option to set up a payment plan ( My Chase Plan ) on one of my charges at XXXX percent interest for 24 months. The plan was started on XX/XX/XXXX for an original principal of {$7300.00} for XXXX XXXX ( XXXX for my dog ). It was to include 24 payments at XXXX. With the Payment Plan, the company allows you to pay the monthly payment plan amount ( XXXX ) plus any additional " new '' charges so you don't incur any interest. I pay my credit card every month to avoid interest charges. On XX/XX/XXXX, my travel agency charged an airline ticket in the amount of {$10000.00} for a work-related airline ticket. The cost of the ticket had exceeded my credit limit on my work credit card. But on that same day, XX/XX/XXXX, the travel agency cancelled the ticket ( and I was credited {$10000.00} ) as they found something cheaper. I was then able to use my work credit card for the final ticket. Chase Card then took the a portion of the {$10000.00} credit and applied it to My Chase Plan which again was " XXXX '' interest. In essence they wiped out the payment plan which I had 2 years to pay at XXXX interest instead of applying the credit to cancel the original charge. And now when my statement closes on XX/XX/XXXX, I will have to pay {$9600.00} or else pay interest. The " credit '' I received should apply to the actual charge, not the payment plan. Basically they inticed me with XXXX percent interest, and had I known they would have done that I would have used a different card. The " My Chase Plan '' is misleading consumers should they be able to unilaterally apply credits to the " Chase Plan '' as opposed to the actual charge the credit is intended to offset. I asked them if I could set up the {$10000.00} charge on a payment plan with XXXX percent interest for which they said no since I don't owe that much on my card. This will now force me to transfer the balance to another credit card and incur a 5 % fee ( but that is only if that bank allows me to do so ).

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I received emails from Chase indicating a credit card and checking account were approved and open. I have never applied for or obtained a Chase account. These are fraudulent accounts. I called the Chase fraud phone number on XXXX to notify them of the fraud and to close the accounts. They required me to provide my social security number and date of birth ; I reluctantly complied. They then wanted additional sensitive information including driver 's license number and employer information. I am not comfortable providing this. They closed the credit card account but refused to close the fraudulent checking account. I also requested a letter from Chase to specify the accounts are fraud, and I am not liable. They refused. There are no Chase banks located near me.
