Consumer Complaint: To Whom It May Concern : This letter is being sent to you in response to notices sent to me from your company and more importantly, due to your erroneous reporting to the Credit Bureaus, the highly negative impact on my personal credit report. Please be advised that this is not a refusal to pay, but a notice sent pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 ( b ) that your claim is disputed and validation is requested. This is NOT a request for verification or proof of my mailing address, but a request for VALIDATION made pursuant to the above-named Title and Section. I respectfully request that your offices provide me with competent evidence that I have any legal obligation to pay you regarding the following account numbers : *SEE ATTACHED DOC** Please provide me with : 1. What the money you say I owe is for. 2. A detailed explanation of how you calculated what you say I owe. 3. Copies of any and all papers that prove I agreed to pay what you say I owe. 4. A verification or copy of any judgment, if applicable. 5. The identity, name, and address of the original creditor. 6. Proof that the Statute of Limitations has not expired on this account. 7. Proof that you are licensed to collect in my state. 8. Your license numbers and Registered Agent or Agent of Service. Consumer Complaint: I recently installed the XXXX XXXX app and started reviewing my credit report. I saw a collections report for an account with XXXX XXXX XXXX that was opened on XX/XX/XXXX and has an owed balance of {$280.00}. I did not open this account as I have been an XXXX customer for about 3 year 's. I am also participating in a program called the XXXX XXXX XXXX that provides internet / cellular service at a free or reduced rate for low income families. I have had free/ reduced internet through this program with XXXX for over 3 years and would not jeopardize my reduced plan by adding another service alongside my established service with XXXX XXXX About 4 years ago, I was the victim of identity theft and have an open case and fraud alerts with the FTC. I am assuming this XXXX XXXX XXXX is associated with my identity theft issue. I spoke to the collection agency today XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with a representative named XXXX who would not accept the information I provided to dispute this debt. I do have verified documentation to support this dispute. I spoke to XXXX XXXX XXXX, a rep named XXXX and was also met with mild discourtesy regarding the information I am providing to dispute this debt and no knowledge of this account. When I spoke to the collection agency, she verified my address as being XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX CA XXXX. This is not correct. My address is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX CA XXXX. She also had an incorrect email address and phone number for me. I gave her the correct contact information. However, both entities are persistent about collecting this debt and refusing to accept or note the correct information I am trying to provide to dispute this account.
