Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I signed up for XXXX XXXX at a second house we bought. I signed up over the phone and I was not told there was an early cancellation fee over the phone. I was unhappy with the service and called to cancel. I was then told there was a cancellation fee but I disputed this because I was not originally told about it. The amount owed was sent to XXXX collections. I filed a dispute it was forgiven. Then without my knowing the debt was suddenly owed to IC Systems in the name of XXXX XXXX XXXX. It is the same account but now a new company is trying to claim I owe them the debt. I was never notified, they may have mailed things to that house but we sold that house in XX/XX/2019, also the house does not have a mailing address, the only address the company would have had was my home address. they never called or mailed me anything. I only found out about the debt when I tried to refinance my house. I paid it to make it go away. I was told I would receive a receipt, I have not. I called back and was told I would receive a receipt by the end of the day. But I still have not. I have paid the bill, even though I was not told about this cancellation fee originally and the debt has been given to a new company without me knowing and now I can not get it off my credit report or even proof that it is paid.

Consumer Complaint: on XX/XX/XXXX I Called IC System after being notified by XXXX XXXX that my score fell 60 points due to their inaccurate reporting on my credit report stating i ower {$230.00}. This is the second time Spectrum has attempted to collect this fraudulent account from me. The first collection attempt was removed from my credit file in XXXX after writing numerous letters to spectrum asking for Validation of this account and telling them this was a fraudulent account. I have been requesting for IC System to submit validation of this account since XX/XX/XXXX. I have sent 2 letters by mail and no one has replied back to me. I have since placed my account of fraudulent watch with all 3 credit agencies

Consumer Complaint: I believe that I am a victim of identity theft. Due to the CoronaVirus Pandemic, we are all facing which has me sitting still at home and I saw the recent news about the multiple XXXX XXXX breaches. I decided to look at my credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus and found that someone had used my Identity. I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. I did not receive any money, goods, or services as a result of identity theft. I contacted the Credit Bureau and told me to file an Identity Theft Report which I did. I did not receive an actual proof, physical firsthand documentation of the payment history and proof of last payment and these violations persist on my credit report. I just had to escalate to XXXX

Subissue: Old information reappears or never goes away
Consumer Complaint: I C Systems has negatively reported {$2600.00} on my credit reports showing this as a new delinquent account. The original creditor is XXXX. I do not recognize the debt but even if the debt were mine, I've been with my current cell phone provider for over 2 years which means the cell phone debt is past the 2 year statute of limitations. At the very most, this debt ( if mine ) should be at least 2 years old on my credit reports. IC Systems just reported it negatively again ( XX/XX/2021 ). They show the account was opened in XX/XX/2021 but I didn't open an account with them. I've asked them to provide me with information on the debt ( once by phone, twice in writing ) and their response was " how are paying this debt today '' and then a letter telling me to get an attorney or something. ( Will try to find letter ). If the debt from XXXX is valid, it is over 2 years old and should be reported as such on my credit report.
