Issue: False statements or representation
Subissue: Attempted to collect wrong amount
Consumer Complaint: I received a collection letter for a medical bill. When i went to pay online there were 3 options. E-check, credit card, or HSA. When I attempted to use the E-check option, it failed to process 3 times, and directed me to call customer service. To avoid long wait times on the phone, I ended up paying by credit card, which included a {$23.00} convinience fee for a {$390.00} bill. The transaction fee seems predatory because I don't know of a single credit card company that charges an almost 6 % transaction fee. Although, they gave the option to pay by bank account, it almost felt like the option was set up to fail so that people would default to paying by credit card, and paying the exorbitant fee.

Consumer Complaint: Dear CFPB, I am writing to dispute the following information that XXXX XXXX XXXX and IC System supplied to XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. I have attached the item I dispute on the attached copy of my credit report ( XXXX ). This item XXXX XXXX XXXX is inaccurate because this account was paid in full, and the equipment was returned to the company am requesting that XXXX XXXX XXXX have the item removed. I contacted XXXX several times to try to get assistance from them and was not successful. They responded that they had submitted all the documents to IC Sytems, and when I spoke to IC System and notified me that they didn't receive anything from XXXX. ( I have attached a screenshot of how many times I submitted the dispute without resolution. ) I contacted IC System and notified them that the debit of XXXX dollars was invalid because I returned the equipment, and the account was paid in full. They responded that this was not for equipment its for an unpaid bill. I asked them several times to send me proof of nonpayment, and they refused to do so. I contacted XXXX XXXX XXXX and spoke to several representatives, and when they looked into the account and verified that the equipment was returned and that it was paid in full but didn't want to do anything about it. I also have attached an email from a different debt collector where they attempted to put in collections for the same account but dropped it because they investigated the account and found that I did return the equipment and paid in full. I will be attaching what I have sent to XXXX. Best Regards, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I recently had a collections account added my credit from I.C. systems Inc. I have no reciliation of any debt owned. I have never received a letter in the mail, email or phone call regarding this debt. The debt just appeared on my credit report. For this reason I was never given the opportunity to dispute and never given an account number to reference the debt. When trying to file a dispute on the I.C. Systems website it ask for a full account number linked to the debt. However, because I have never received notification of the debt, I do not have the full account number to dispute, only the few numbers listed on my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 I ordered a phone from XXXX. I was told the phone would have either a XXXX or XXXX day ship, but it took longer than that. I reached out multiple times to XXXX and spoke to multiple representatives. In the beginning I was told my order did not ship out yet, then that it just shipped, and lastly that they couldnt find my order at all. After hearing all of this I was frustrated and decided do cancel the entire order. I called XXXX & was told that the order was already shipped and told to contact XXXX. When I called XXXX, they stated that they havent received my order at all. I then spoke to XXXX again and they gave me the run around. I was then told that the order was canceled and I had nothing to worry about. XXXX went by and I noticed XXXX XXXX tried to take different amounts of money from my account at different times. I visited my local XXXX and they called the collection agency and tried to get everything disputed. Before I left I was told by the XXXX experts that everything was handled and that the debt would be disputed and removed from my credit report. That never happened. I went back a little while later and did the whole process over with XXXX The agency told the experts that they did in fact dispute my claim but they put it back on my credit report due to phone usage & the phone account being used. Again I told both XXXX and the agency that I did not receive the phone, it was NEVER delivered to my home, due to me canceling it. I told them that when I spoke to the representatives I was told my order was successfully cancelled. I told them again and again that I do not have possession of the phone or any of XXXX equipment. Im not the individual that used nor opened the account etc. The XXXX representatives even stated to the agency that they have no active account in my name, and that its obvious Im not the one using the device or the account. The {$560.00} was then removed from my credit report for about a couple of months, & it is now back. I just want to get this handled. This has been going on for way too long.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX sent a bill for over {$2000.00} with zero explanation, it only says miscellaneous charges. {$88.00} was indicated as the final energy charges. I have requested a full complete itemized receipt of charges including : dates, addresses, energy charges, etc. from 2 collections companies and from XXXX & XXXX themselves, no one will provide this information to me. Over the years I have blindly paid whatever charges XXXX & XXXX arbitrarily alleged that I owed as I needed service and they are the sole energy provider in my area. This time I have chosen to dispute as my bill was not behind nor am I no longer required to utilize their service. The VP from XXXX & XXXX called me last year and promised to provide me with the requested information and I have never heard from them again, until today, when I spoke to XXXX at IC Systems, who also refused to provide me with documentation of debt and refused my request for a manager. I will not be paying this erroneous charge to XXXX & XXXX. I will have this gross error removed from my XXXX, if it means suing XXXX & XXXX is my only option.
