Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I want to emphasize that I am not the account holder associated with the aforementioned creditor, and I believe this to be a case of mistaken identity. It is distressing to learn that my credit report has been inaccurately linked to an account that I have no knowledge of, and I fear that this misidentification has occurred due to the wrongful association of the theft victim with the alleged thief. I am a victim of identity theft, and I have taken immediate steps to dispute this account with the creditor in question. They have acknowledged the fraudulent nature of the account and are working to rectify the situation. However, I am adamant that there has been a misunderstanding, as I have no knowledge of the account in question, and it appears that my identity has been wrongfully associated with fraudulent activity. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX - FRAUD, PLEASE DELETE!!! I insist on a thorough reexamination of the verification process, as I am confident that an error has occurred. It is crucial for the accuracy and integrity of my credit report that this wrongfully verified fraudulent account be removed promptly. I request that you conduct a diligent investigation into this matter and, upon verification of the inaccuracies in the reporting, proceed with the immediate removal of the wrongfully verified fraudulent account from my credit report. I also expect regular updates on the progress of the investigation within the time frame stipulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ).

Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I asked Experian to remove a repossession from my credit report because it was included in a XXXX XXXX bankruptcy. I sent a copy of the XXXX XXXX paperwork and they apparently did not even look at the XXXX. Within a few days I was sent a form letter telling me that Experian had contacted the bank and the bank said it was a valid collection. The bank had turned the collection over to a collection agent who contacted me. The collection agent said that the loan was covered in the XXXX and that he had closed the collection case. If a collection company says the loan was uncollectable because it was included in a XXXX, then Experian should have at least looked at the XXXX paperwork and addressed that issue. However, they never even acknowledged that they examined or researched the XXXX.
