Consumer Complaint: This debt collector engaged in abusive, deceptive, and unfair practices of the FDCPA which it prohibits. They furnished this account that we didn't agree upon and I didn't sign an agreement on. A legal contract is signed by two parties and I did not participate in any of it. I declare under penalty of perjury ( under the laws of the United States, if executed outside of the United States ) that the foregoing is true and correct to the best of my knowledge. Further, I certify that I am permitted by FEDERAL and STATE LAW to file this dispute. I also understand that knowing and willful misstatements or omissions of material facts constitutes a FEDERAL CRIMINAL VIOLATION punishable under 18 U.S.C. 1001. Additionally, these misstatements are punishable as perjury under 18 U.S.C. 1621. This collection found within my credit report is not related to any transaction that I made. I am alleging that a person or company- without my authorization- used my personal identifying information to apply for goods, services, or money ; and, was successful in creating some accounts.

Issue: Identity theft protection or other monitoring services
Subissue: Problem canceling credit monitoring or identify theft protection service
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of this year I wanted to get my free credit report from Experian. Their website did not make clear out to do this, and I accidentally wound up signing up for some service. I'm not totally clear actually what the service is, I thought it was putting in required information to get a free credit report, and they signed me up for their service. Since then, I have been charged {$14.00} every month by Experian. I've tried logging into their account to cancel whatever subscription I have, but their website either says that I don't have an account, or it says that it is having some kind of technical difficulties. Also, sometimes their website blocks access when I click on certain links. I've tried calling, but when I call it immediately asks me for my social security number, which I'm not comfortable giving to an automated machine, especially when I'm having this kind of dodgy trouble with the company. Other times, when I have tried calling numbers on their website, it just doesn't connect. I have also tried reaching out by email. They have been slow to respond, and are doing the same thing of asking me for my account information. I've never received any account information, but I'm still being charged by them every month. This has been extremely frustrating. I have no idea how I signed up for the service, and I have no idea how to cancel it. I haven't received any actual goods or services in the meantime. This appears to be intentional as a way to dishonestly get money from me while doing nothing in return. It is taking a long time to cancel because I'm busy and don't have time to fight through this ridiculous system.
