Consumer Complaint: I had a legal name change in XXXX, and in order to update my name with Equifax, I had to File a Dispute through myEquifax.com, and so I did. I created an account and uploaded copies of the court order, my driver 's license, birth certificate, and social security card on XX/XX/XXXX and I received confirmation that my name was updated on XX/XX/XXXX. It was at the time I noticed that my address wasn't updated from a previous address. I tried to call them to update my address and was given the following instructions : send a copy of your Driver 's License, social security card, and a COVER LETTER to a XXXX XXXX XXXX Georgia. My complaint involves this lapse of logic that Equifax is pushing on me. How am I more easily able to update something complex like my name, by way of uploading documents through myEquifax ; while simultaneously having to go through the trouble of printing paper, buying postage, and sending a letter through USPS for something as simple as a change of address?! Further, WHY was I forced to create a myEquifax account to change my name when I'm unable to change other things such as my address through the same account? XXXX and XXXX both allowed me to update both my name AND address through their online portal and/or over the phone, but it feels like Equifax is being deliberately obtuse in updating the most basic of information on my credit file. And don't get me started on how LLCs can have such control over credit without consent. I'd forsake Equifax in a heartbeat in favor of XXXX, if for no other reason than the XXXX data breach that is likely the cause of this nonsense I'm complaining about. I doubt the CFPB can enforce anything requiring Equifax to be consistent with their processes, but I'm submitting this complaint regardless with the slim hope that maybe something beneficial will occur to prevent others from having to deal with this indiscriminate nonsense ( I'd prefer a different adjective to describe this, but that word would likely cause this complaint to be rejected or ignored. Rest assured it is quite profane ).

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, Equifax decided to add a closed account I've never had to my credit report that dropped my credit a whopping XXXX points! It's a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX account for XXXX flat. They just so decide to add that to my account and a few days later, my credit takes that massive hit. I've personally never opened or closed any account like that. The thing is, Equifax is being Equifax, and I can not log in to their website to dispute it. When logging in, their website just says, " We are temporarily unable to complete your request '' every single time I try to log in. Another thing is, I've had actual closed accounts before, and they only take my credit down a few points, not near XXXX. I worked super hard to keep my credit up, and it was XXXX near XXXX then Equifax comes and ruins it.

Consumer Complaint: I called XXXX on or around the time I contracted XXXX XXXX and my job was affected. In XX/XX/XXXX I spoke with 2 different supervisors on a recorded line about the billing error and was told that if I made consistent on time payments for 6 months, they would remove my late payments. My credit report has been adversely affected by my lost of employment due to the worldwide Covid pandemic. After being assured by the management at XXXX that the erroneous late payments would be removed, I've been caught up and consistent an entire year since finding stable employment. I called XXXX today XX/XX/XXXX and The representative refused to submit my dispute for the erroneous late payments and refused to transfer me to a supervisor. ThIs information on my credit report is preventing me from purchasing a home. I would have never been in this position if i wasnt assured that the late payments would not affect me after keeping consistent payments. I feel like this is some form of extortion. Consumer Complaint: 15 USC 1681 a ( d ) ( 2 ) ( A ) ( i ) clearly states that transactions between the consumer and the XXXX XXXX XXXX report is NOT included on the consumer reports. Yet XXXX, XXXX XXXX Equifax is reporting this information. The reporting of excluded information pursuant to 15 USC 1681 a ( d ) ( 2 ) ( A ) ( i ) on a consumer report is a clear violation of Metro2 compliance. I need the transactions reporting as late, collection/charge-off status and any other derogatory information deleted from my consumer reports effective immediately. Before you think to reply that this account has been validated, lets be clear that I am not asking you to validate or verify anything. So please do not respond by telling me that as a tactic to waste my valuable time. Some of the negative accounts have been placed in Collection/Charge-Off Status WITHOUT mailing me a copy of IRS form 1099-C Cancellation of Debt.
