Violation of the FDCPA - Reporting as Income : The original creditor has reported these charge off accounts as income, which is a violation of the FDCPA. Section 807 ( 2 ) ( A ) of the FDCPA states that a debt collector ( which includes the original creditor ) can not use any false, deceptive, or misleading representation or means in connection with the collection of any debt. Reporting these charge off accounts as income misrepresents the nature of the debt and is misleading to potential lenders and creditors. This violates the FDCPA 's prohibition on false or misleading representations. XXXX. Violation of the FCRA - Accuracy and Verification : I have reason to believe that these charge off accounts have not been accurately verified by the credit bureau as required by the FCRA. Section 611 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) of the FCRA states that credit bureaus are required to conduct a reasonable investigation into the accuracy of disputed information. If the information is found to be inaccurate or can not be verified, it must be promptly corrected or removed from the credit report. I request that you provide the necessary verification for these charge off accounts. Failure to conduct a thorough investigation and provide accurate verification would be a violation of the FCRA. XXXX. Violation of the FCRA - XXXX XXXX : The credit bureau has failed to report these charge off accounts within the required time frame as outlined in the FCRA. This is a very serious violation of the FCRA, and I reserve the right to pursue legal action for your blatant disregard for the law. Consumer Complaint: Around XX/XX/2023, I was getting a few alerts regarding my credit report that accounts are being reported that I've never opened myself. I checked my credit report and noticed there were some fraudulent accounts, nonmailable addresses, and hard inquiries reporting without my consent and authorization. Immediately I contacted the credit bureaus and was told that i needed an FTC report or police report. They were no help at all. I provided that documentation via mail and the dispute results came back as " verified ''. How can fraudulent accounts come back verified when it was opened fraudulently? I requested a method of verification I still haven't received anything in the mail. I am a victim of Identity theft. I am requesting that these items be deleted and blocked from my credit report
