Consumer Complaint: Equifax refuses to remove the account of which I am a authorized user from my credit report even though I have disputed this many times now. I have had no issues with removing this erroneous information from my other credit reports but Equifax just will not remove it. I have tried multiple times to communicate with both Equifax and XXXX but both give me the run around and nothing gets accomplished but me starting over at square one. XXXX should remove me as a authorized user, the card has been closed for XXXX years and I have provided them with all the information to do such, but they instead have given me multiple numbers to call, often which are automated and do not recognize me at all, they have given me their collections department number as a 'solution '. Every month they report the account to my credit report, but only Equifax reports the bad information. They sent me a letter in the mail stating to call a number to have myself removed but the customer service can't find me in the system? But they can report it every month? Doesn't make sense. Equifax, I have disputed this pretty much weekly at this point. They do not respect the Fair Credit Reporting act, which I believe is supposed to make sure my credit report reflects my debts and credits accurately. I have told them multiple times I am not responsible for the debt and they can see it's a authorized user account but they keep reporting it and it's effecting my ability to work with lenders.
