Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I was notified by Midland credit XXXX about paying my debt or get sued. I received a subpoena for court and the account was completely paid in full and closed on XX/XX/XXXX. Midland credit management updated the credit bureaus that I owed $ XXXX and that the account was not paid in full, they have yet to report this to the credit bureau either. Also, XXXX XXXX sold the debt and were paid for it yet they would not remove this debt from my report either. My concerns are that after disputing this account of Midland credit management my credit score dropped over 50 points, and All I was disputing was the fact that they had not shown the account was paid in full to the credit bureaus. As of now I have two negatives on my report from midland credit saying I owe $ XXXX and one saying I owe $ XXXX, my one account with them has been paid in full and closed.

Issue: Communication tactics
Subissue: Frequent or repeated calls
Consumer Complaint: Midland Credit continues to call from various numbers. I do not have an account with them. My wife does. They started calling my daughter as well. The calls are coming 2-3 times a day from multiple numbers and to my work phone which has been affecting my job. Theyve been calling constantly for the past few months as recently as yesterday XX/XX/21. Ive blocked numerous phone numbers and they just come in through several others from MI, CA, MN. This was for some debt my wife has and I made an arrangement with them ( on my wifes behalf ) to pay it off but they did not continue after the first payment. Im not responsible for them breaching that agreement and I will not reauthorize. Yet they continue to call daily and even on weekends. I would like this to stop immediately. Especially since its not my debt to begin with.
