Consumer Complaint: Discover Credit requested me to complete a 4506-C form in Q3. I completed the form on XX/XX/23 at XXXX. on XX/XX/23 I received an email at XXXX stating that further action is needed and that I should call Discover to resolve the issue. I called Discover on XX/XX/23 to inquire about the email I received. I asked the attendant if further action is needed to which she answered NO. During this conversation I agreed to enter a payment plan with Discover, too. Three weeks later, on XX/XX/23 at XXXX I receive an email stating that Discover has closed my account due to lack of verification. They have reported my balance to collections, continue to charge interest, and refuse to reopen my account. My account has been wrongfully closed. As you can see, I've contacted Discover on multiple occasions to provide the requested documentation and information, I have been told I am in good standing and do not need to take further action on a recorded line, then my account has been closed regardless of the fact. This will negatively impact my credit for years to come. This is unbelievably inept behavior from a company where I have been a customer for nearly 10 years.

Consumer Complaint: Hello Discover, I have filed a complaint with the CFPB regarding the account Discover ( XXXX ). Discover is reporting derogatory information regarding a credit card account to ALL 3 of my credit bureaus. I mailed Discover certified letters requesting a signed contract for this account. When I did not receive a response I followed up and called Discover. Discover claims they never received my request even though the tracking number for each certified letter indicates both certified letters have been received. I have made both written & verbal request for a SIGNED CONTRACT for the credit card account. Discover refuses to send me this requested document. The only thing Discover has provided to me were outstanding monthly bills & a general Customer Agreement not specific to the credit card account they are reporting to my credit file. In fact it is the same general Customer service agreement they have listed on Discover 's website, the website also makes reference to there being a Credit Card agreement for " your accounts '', which I am assuming that there should be specific terms agreed upon for each account specifically. I spoke with a customer service agent & she stated not all accounts have signed contracts & she could not provide me with one for the reported credit card account. I asked " if there is no signed contract outlining the specific terms to either account how did a agree to something blindly? '' Of course she had no response other than there is no signed contract/ agreement documentation showing I agreed to either credit card account. I work in privacy & compliance and know the implications a company can incur for failure to adhere to privacy laws. With the rise in data breaches and identity theft providing me with billing statements & a general customer agreement are not acceptable. I demand immediate removal of this account from all 3 of my credit bureaus. I will continue to document my efforts, update the CFPB on the status of my complaint & utilize any legal rights I have. Prolonging this is only showing Discover is refusing and willfully not complying with the privacy laws.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I purchased a garage door opener from XXXX XXXX for the amount of {$210.00} ( tax included ) using my Discover credit card. The XXXX XXXX also charged an installation fee of {$140.00}. The garage door opener was defective and returned to XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2023. They promptly refunded my credit card in the store. And I have a receipt to prove it! However, the Discover Credit Card company not only charging me the {$210.00} for the product, but also charging me for {$140.00} installation fee! According to Discover I owe them {$340.00}! I have called and wrote to the Discover repeatedly, explaining that the garage door opener was returned to the merchant. And, that the garage door opener was never installed. And there should be no charges for the installation, since the product was returned in the first place. Apparently, none of my reasoning is working on the Discover Credit card company. They are adamantly charging me for a product that was returned and refunded.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/22 & XX/XX/22 there were unauthorized/fraudulent charges made to my Discover credit card. On XX/XX/22 I lost my cell phone and later on I realized I lost some credit cards too. These credit cards were in a small pouch, not in my wallet. I have auto pay set up on my discover card and didn't realize that the charges had been made until several months later. I reported the fraudulent charges as soon as I became aware of them. The charges were {$980.00} at XXXX XXXX, {$88.00} at XXXX XXXX XXXX and {$3200.00} at XXXX XXXX XXXX, all these charges happened in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Discover card is denying my claim and when asked for an explanation I was told that the merchant claimed the charges were made in person and " validated. '' When I asked how were the charges " validated '' the agent, XXXX, stated that she didn't have that information. I was also told that I had file 2 other claims in the past to which I note, I've have had my Discover card for over 10 years, and this is not the first time Discover falls short on their duty to protect me. One time XXXX sent a package that was lost by XXXX, XXXX sent confirmation that they couldn't confirm the delivery, yet Discover made me responsible. Another time, I lost my wallet, charges were made and a police report filed, but I was told by a Discover representative that when I called they input that I wasn't " happy with the purchases '' and that's why the fraud claim had been denied. I have paid Discover both times despite them failing to protect me and me not receiving any goods/services or having had authorized the transactions.
