Consumer Complaint: I have been a victim of identity theft, and the issue is that multiple fraudulent accounts were opened without my consent and authorization. As a matter of fact, for a very long time, I was unaware that these fraudulent accounts were reported on my credit report. After being notified about this issue, I contacted the credit bureaus and the creditors, including DISCOVER BANK. I informed them that I'd been an identity theft victim. DISCOVER BANK opened an account using my social security and personal information without my permission, and they needed to stop doing that. I told them DISCOVER BANK used my personal information without my consent ; they opened an account without my permission and required me to control and delete the bill because it was a FRAUDULENT account. I spoke with DISCOVER BANK 's fraud team and consumer affairs and with many supervisors, investigators, and executive fraud team members. They all try to deflect the fundamental issue of removing and disputing this account, and they want to blame me. The bill currently has an outstanding balance of {$1100.00}. However, I have told them I never opened the report, was never involved with this account, nor conducted any business with DISCOVER BANK. I do not use credit cards in general. DISCOVER BANK is violating my rights and reporting a fraudulent and derogatory account that does not belong to my credit report. I have been a victim of identity theft, and the history that DISCOVER BANK furnished was given to an identity thief, not me.

Consumer Complaint: My issue is that Discover must report accurate information to the credit reporting agencies consistent with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Over seven years ago, Discover charged off my {$6000.00} loan. Discover continues reporting late payment information to the credit reporting agencies, going so far as to remark the account 'closed ' and then 'opened ', over and over, which has negatively affected my credit reports. I recently received a credit alert that Discover reported information on my credit report. Discover reports monthly that I am either 30, 60, or 90 days late to the credit reporting agencies, in addition to continuously changing remarks. Discover should not be reporting negative information regarding my loan that was charged off over seven years ago.
