I have been turned down for a credit due to mis-reporting information, I have found inaccuracies that should be immediately investigated. I have complete knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and understand that these companies have a responsibility to notify me prior to or no later than 30 days of such negative activity reporting against me. DISCOVER BANK XXXX. Those payments were made on time. I am requesting that the late payment markings be updated to reflect my accurate payment history. If there is any confusion, I suggest you contact myself or the customer service representative of the said accounts.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: Discover closed my credit card account without informing me. I couldn't use the card to make a purchase when I have been paying my bill on time every month. So I called Discover and found out that they closed my account and told me that they have sent an email about it. I receive over 100 emails a day how was I supposed to keep a record of emails? They didn't call me or left me any voice-mail regarding this. Upon checking my email I saw that there was a very unclear email staying " we need your consent to verify your income from IRS ''. I update my income every time as soon as I start working a second job to keep it up to date. I update it on all my credit card accounts immediately to avoid this issue. I find it very frustrating that no one was able to help me out when I called customer service and kept transferring me over to different agents. No one had a clue as to why the account was closed or had any control over it. This is not the first time it happened to me. Discover have tried closing my account before for the same " verification " reason as well. I work for a bank myself. I do understand the compliance policies and procedures but what Discover is doing to me is not due diligence or a compliance policy it's discrimination at this point. This is not the first time I have been disappointed and inconvenienced by discover 's unprofessionalism. And top of it they are threatening me to report my account to the credit bureau which was being paid for in time every month. I would like to sue discover for causing me this much inconvenience and trying to purposely hurt my credit score. I feel like I'm being targeted.

Consumer Complaint: My original loan from XXXX and XXXX, was sold to Discover in roughly XXXX, however the contractual terms remained. Although Discover Student Loans do not offer a release of a co-signer, the terms in my agreement did. This was confirmed in XXXX, when Discover reached out and informed me I could remove the co-signer and I submitted the form and all the required documentation to do so, as requested. Discover confirmed receipt and thought all was set. In XXXX, I had financial issues and my loan went into default, however the loan has been settled now. I just learned this mark ended up on my co-signers credit score too and caused a loan application for a house repair to be rejected. I attempted to reach out to Discover Student loans, however they claim they can't see request from back in XXXX now and they will review and get back to me. I have never received a call back after weeks and every time I call, it starts the cycle again.

Consumer Complaint: I paid {$4600.00} for the XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX through XXXX XXXX starting XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX sent out and email stating the event was canceled due to XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX failure to provide payment for reservations. Despite several failed attempts to contact XXXX XXXX, they finally sent out an email days later stating the event was canceled and they are working to provide a sustainable credit and or refund process. I paid {$2300.00} on my Discover credit card. I filed a dispute and was denied several times. XXXX XXXX sent Discover a fraudulent contract that I never signed stating the event was nonrefundable and a credit for a future trip would be given. In my contract the verbiage states that if the event was canceled due to reasons beyond their control a credit maybe issued. Failure to submit payment for reservations is within their control. Immediately after XXXX XXXX released their statement, XXXX XXXX deleted all of our online accounts. Many of us were not able to retrieve several documents. XXXX XXXX also sent a refund request form on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX and Ive yet to receive a refund or a credit. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX filed Bankruptcy in California. Also, the trip that I was supposed to be given a credit for in XXXX XXXX XXXX was just canceled. He did the same thing to all of those people. He stole all of our money. Im requesting a credit from Discover for {$2300.00} for services not rendered.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Co-signer
Consumer Complaint: I helped my god-daughter XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX student loans in XXXX of XXXX and XXXX of XXXX. Both student loans listed me as co-signer as stated in the letter dated XX/XX/XXXX, from Discover Bank. The letter listed XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX. The loan XXXX told me over the phone that amounts are ~ {$64000.00} and ~ {$41000.00}, respectively. XXXX has been paying both loans on time after she graduated and landed a job as a nurse in Texas. After talking to her and her mother, we decided that she can take care of them on her own. Therefore, I contacted Discover and they have been making me goes round and round without any specific. I asked for additional info such as the terms of the loans and the answers are that they can not give it to me because I am a co-signer not the applicant. A loan specialist would ask to call a loan consolidation specialist but don't have a phone number to give. Then, I started googling and found CFPB.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX 'Discover It ' opened a credit account for me with a credit limit of {$2000.00}. I was paying $ XXXX month through my credit union checking account autopay service for approximately 9 months. When I attempted to charge some products at a local retail store, my Discover card was declined, resulting in my confusion & embarassment. I telephoned the company & was informed that my account was closed because I had failed to " verify '' my identity by responding to an email the company had sent me several months ago. Looking through my emails, I found an email from some other company I never heard of asking me to complete an IRS form. Since I hadn't recognized the company asking for my personal information, I thought it was a scam & hadn't answered the email. I informed the representative of Discover that since I did not know that Discover was trying to verify my identity, I had ignored the email thinking it was a scam. It was an honest mistake on my part that was unrelated to my payment history or creditworthiness. I requested that my account be reopened, in light of the fact that I had never missed a payment. Discover refused to reopen my account, but advised me to continue making payments because of an outstanding balance of {$1500.00}. I have continued to pay my bill on time, but I reduced my monthly payment from $ XXXX. to $ XXXX. In XXXX Discover increased my minimum monthly payment to $ XXXX, with interest rate of approximately $ XXXX. I sent 2 autopayments, one on XX/XX/XXXX for {$50.00}, & one on XX/XX/XXXX ( Discover 's closing date ) for {$10.00}. Discover charged me {$30.00} in late fees because the due date for my payment was XX/XX/XXXX. I called the company & was informed that although the statement closing date was XX/XX/XXXX, there is no 'grace period ' between the payment due date & the closing date, & that my {$10.00} payment was late. The company did agree to waive the late charges for this month. But my minimum payment due on XX/XX/XXXX is now {$65.00}. I do not believe Discover has been dealing with me in good faith. First, a sneaky attempt to get me to reveal personal information to a third party that neither Discover nor the third party informed me that it was acting as an agent for Discover. Second, closing my account without informing me of the reason, resulting in my confusion & embarrassment when I attempted to use the card at a local retail store. Third, refusing to re-open my account, which was in good standing, because I chose to be careful about revealing personal information to Discover 's undisclosed agent via email. Fourth, I am paying a variable APR of 28.24 %, 20 % + over the prime rate set by the federal reserve on a credit card which I can no longer use.
