Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 Discover Financial Services placed an inquiry on my report. I responded to a Pre-Approved offer by XXXX that stated that my credit report would not be effected. I did not authorize Discover or XXXX to place this inquiry in my report. Although XXXX guaranteed that my report would not be hurt, it was done against my will. I have tried contacting Discover numerous times by phone but no one answers to my calls.

Consumer Complaint: I applied with a fico over XXXX points and not any debts aside from XXXX in student loans - i pay off balances within a month of any credit charging -- i applied for a 0 % for 14 months interest discover it card - it is ad on website as such but found out 6 months later i was approved for something entirely diff - a card with 0 % for 6 months and cash transfers for 18 months free of interests. I never needed or applied for this type of card the ad said 0 % for 14 months. Upon calling discover I was treated like a serf by each supervisor and even had my acct closed without my approval. I had told them to hold off as I now had to see how their XXXX up was going to rake amuck on my credit report with dings. This company is awful. Awful service - awful ads they don't hold to when you apply for ... .I will never do biz with this co again Apparently having excellent credit and always paying taxes, and bills does nothing for you with Discover.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I applied for a Discover Personal Loan so I could transfer the balance of my high interest Discover Card. I've been a Discover Card holder for 5 years, and they've made thousands of dollars off my high 19.99 % interest rate on a balance that's ballooned to {$12000.00}. I was denied and told HIGH UTILIZATION ON BANK REVOLVING ACCOUNTS LOAN TERM DELINQUENCY HISTORY ON BUREAU REPORT My credit history spans 28 years, 5 months. I have no delinquencies on my credit report. I believe this is retaliatory in nature. Two weeks prior, I'd contacted Discover via their app to ask for a lower interest rate. My credit score was XXXX, and I have no delinquencies to any account in my name. I was instructed to check for any balance transfer offers. But again, I asked for a lower interest rate. I was asked WHY I wanted a lower interest rate? I said who wouldn't! I asked again for a lower interest rate. This time I was asked what my reasons were ... .was I experiencing financial or personal hardships?? I repeated that I was requesting a lower interest rate. Guess what the customer service representative replied? " Great question! Are you asking for a lower interest rate on your existing balance? ". I told her I'd been asking her for a lower interest rate for 15 minutes. I was then offered two rates, 16.99 % for 12 months on new purchases or 9.99 % for 6 months on new purchases. I told her I wasn't interested in either. Then she tells me ... .get this ... .that she thinks the 0.99 % interest repayment program sounded like an amazing offer. WHAT? I wasn't offered 0.99 %! At that point she apologized and said she'd been taking care of two customers at a time and that the offer of 0.99 % wasn't for me. OUCH. No late payments, high balance, and five year payment history with Discover ... ..28 year credit history overall. Two weeks later, I applied for a Discover Personal Loan to pay-off my HIGH-INTEREST Discover Credit Card debt ....

Consumer Complaint: With no warning Discover placed a hold on my account. My accounts have never late and i have had my credit cards for years. They are requesting a 4506 t through a third party which is XXXX. XXXX has had the biggest breach in credit reporting history. They do not offer an alternative for this and basically say if you do not comply they will close said account, which will reflect on your credit in several ways that will detrimental to the credit reporting. As a consumer and business owner this is not only breaching privacy policies and not allowing for any privacy. THIS IS AMERICA and although they are extending the credit, to force the consumer to give a 4506t is criminal. XX/XX/XXXX can claim to protect information. We all know that is not true. Based on their previous performance. This procedure is not one that can be trusted. The law also does not permit that you file taxes every year. with that said Discover has locked cards and did not warn the consumer before.. I am blessed i was not out of town or my son who is an authorized user was not using the card and not out dining to be declined. Please look into these practices.
