Consumer Complaint: I was contacted today by XXXX claiming to be XXXX Fraud Dept. they stated someone was trying to charge my discover card and wanted to authorize I was doing this under the name XXXX XXXX. And that is not my name. They then proceeded to rattle of my address, my social security number and they provided me with not only the entire discover card number but also the visa XXXX XXXX credit card number. Now neither of these are my credit cards specifically I am just an authorized user on them. My social security number was never given to either of these credit card companies when making me an authorized user so I am not sure how they have my birthdate, social security number etc please note I did not deny nor confirm the data they stated.. but nonetheless it was correct.. They then proceeded to ask me for my FICO score which I wouldnt give them, they asked if I wanted 0 % interest rate on my other credit cards which I specifically told them NO, and I would not provide them with my other credit card numbers or who they were from. My big concern is that whomever these people are have my correct social security number birthday and address. Please help me. I dont know what to do

Consumer Complaint: Good morning, I have been requesting by my right as a consumer after looking through my credit report that several accounts be verified under FCRA 611 ( a ) ( 1 ) ( A ) and Discover has failed each time to provide the credit bureaus with substantial PROOF that this account or entry on my consumer report is in fact accurate or mine. I know my right as a consumer and fully intend on pursuing litigation in the amount of {$1000.00} as stated in FCRA laws. If Discover cant provide me with physical documentation i expect for them to uphold my rights and update and delete this account from my report by contacting the bureaus in which they reported this inaccurate report. The account Appears on my report as : Discover BankXXXX XXXX

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: I contacted discover card services to report fraud on account and to request a new card. I was asked if I wanted to update my phone number which I did. After I received my card I went to activate it. It was activated. I went to use it and it was declined. I called again to be told due to inherent risk factors we closed your account. I pay my bill every month no late payments great credit score and employed. I am confused why credit card companies are doing this now other than they are expecting a huge default rate, but that would not make sense from someone who has been a great customer and paid even during a worldwide pandemic. I also lost benefits of rewards earned. This is unfair since if they want to close my account that's fine, but rewards were earned already before payment of rewards so they should not be lost. Not happy with this practice that seems to be rampant.

Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: Discover Card asked me to pay credit card debt that I do not own. The card was created with identity theft, without my consent, shown on statement credit card created in XXXX. I did not ever involved in any transaction with Discover Card. I report the issue to the police on XX/XX/2020 after I received notification from Discover Card asking me to pay off their credit profile. I believe I should not be responsible for any transaction I did not authorize. However, Discover Card declined to take off the record after I contact Discover Card, for many times over the phone and mail.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Charged too much interest
Consumer Complaint: I have contacted Discover Card throughout the entirety of the covid pandemic asking for help and attempting to keep my account with them current. Unfortunately, Discover has been of no help and instead has charged me for late fees and increased the interest on my account while I deal with the financial and health stresses of Covid. It came to a head recently when they told me that they were federally regulated to not offer help to a customer more than twice during a 5 year period. I called the CFPB who told me that was not true. I went back to Discover and asked them why they would lie to me rather than attempt to assist a customer trying to stay afloat and they admitted that they were not telling the truth but offered no assistance. I simply don't now know where to go except the CFPB. They are threatening to raise my minimum payment. I repeat, RAISE my payment when I was asking them for a reduction in interest and for them to waive the early {$200.00} in late payment fees. I am behind due to Covid. I freely admit that I wish I could pay this bill in full and had never gotten behind. But my husband and I are devastated financially due to covid and fell behind even further while caring for loved ones during the pandemic. I can not understand why a company would resort to mendacity rather than caring at a time like this. I have all of this documented and now must take the step of hoping the CFPB can " make '' Discover not lie and do the decent thing moving forward.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, My complaint is regarding Discover credit. I have been a Discover customer since XX/XX/XXXX and my account has always been in good standing. The past year dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic has proved to be difficult for my family. One of main things we have relied on during this time of uncertainty and unexpectedness was my Discover line of credit. My credit limit, continues to be lowered without my notification after 'reviews ' are done my account which I could have opted out of. I was not made aware that I could opt of these auto-reviews until today. I recently made a significant payment on my Discover account on XX/XX/XXXX of {$7000.00} and plan to do again in a couple of months. In the meantime, since then, my credit line was decreased to below $ 10k and then increased a couple hundred dollar in XX/XX/XXXX to {$10000.00}. In the past my credit line was {$13000.00}. This lowering of my credit line has brought my credit score down as which is very frustrating and makes it impossible to have this reversed in my time of need during COVID. All I am asking of Discover is to give me the respect of re-establishing my credit line to $ XXXX $ XXXX which is completely fair given my payment history. at the VERY least, I am asking that my credit line be returned to $ XXXX which is what it was a couple of months ago. It is disheartening that this company if making it so difficult to make this change for me. I was on the phone today, Monday XX/XX/XXXX, during my work day for an hour and was transferred between three different departments. The last department I was transferred to a gentleman named 'XXXX ' who is an account review analyst, not even a manager, and he was the least helpful of all. I have no other resource than to report my experience here. I vow to end my credit relationship with Discover as soon as we are able to do so and fully recover from this pandemic. All I have asked is during this time of COVID that Discover not lower my credit line especially after I went through this with them this past XXXX at the beginning of the pandemic. Thank you very much for your time and consideration with this matter. Sincerely a frustrated customer, XXXX
