Consumer Complaint: As a cosigner on student loan my credit report was affected. The borrower has been trying to make more payments due to COVID-19. It has negatively affected the cosigners credit score. The cosigner tried make modification on credit score so that it would not effect score. Discovery student loan is not taken in consideration covid-19 pandemic which has caused the borrower to become late with four payments. XXXX. The cosigner is trying to rectify by trying to help to borrower by making substantial amount of payments to become current. However, it still will affect the cosigner and borrowers credit. Due to covid-19 this is an unfair practice to ruin someone's credit score and potential cause misrepresentation of XXXX XXXX payments. Negatively impacting my credit score without resolving payment status to reflect current credit score. Covid19 was not suppose to let banking instructions make false reporting due to lapse of payments. Government mandated protection against credit reporting institution from reporting late payments. Discover student loans are not following guidelines.

Basically, I am requesting this investigation under the authorization of the Fair Credit Reporting Act 623. ( a ) ( 8 ) ability of consumer to dispute information directly with the furnisher. What I am disputing : The late payments you have reported to the three credit bureaus. My basis for this dispute is that this account was always paid in a timely manner, during the months in question, which you have reported as being late.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, Discover Financial Services began reporting an alleged debt that they claim I owe to the XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. I have informed the 3 credit reporting agencies that this debt is not mine and on XX/XX/XXXX XX/XX/XXXXsent me results from my dispute saying that Discover certified that the information belongs to me. 1. How can a company certify that a consumer owes a debt and a company can not talk. 2. A representative of the company can not certify that I owe a debt, especially since this is a consumer credit transaction. On XX/XX/XXXX, I requested by certified mail that Discover send me validation of debt pursuant to 15 usc 1692g and Discover did not honor my request. Instead on XX/XX/XXXX Discover sent a letter requesting that I provide them with sensitive and personal information that is an invasion of my privacy as a consumer. In the letter which is noted as Exhibit A, Discover violated 15 usc 1692b. ( 5 ) by including their logo in the mail content that they sent to my address at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX NJ XXXX. Discover placed this account on my credit report and it is destroying my credit file and negatively affecting my personal life.

Police Report filed, and spoke to XXXX which showed evidence that I did not make these purchases. Discover says they do not have to honor the {$50.00} liability because it is up to the company.
