Consumer Complaint: I've been disputing fraud accounts on my credit report since XX/XX/2021. I keep sending multiple sets of letters to the bureaus and the creditors so the excuse of " we didn't get it '' doesn't happen. Furthermore, each letter is certified mail with tracking and each letter shows signed and delivered and yet the bureaus are still not taking any actions. The accounts are not showing in dispute nor are they removed from my report. The accounts always show up with different name variations and different account number variations and yet the bureaus seem to ignore the trend and let these fraud accounts affect my credit score. I have requested the investigation to be initiated and also verifiable proof to be submitted should the account claim to be mine. Not only have I not received any mail showing the verifiable proofs needed to justify the accounts to be on my report, I haven't even received any letters at all stating the investigations have begun. Per the FCRA and federal law, the process is supposed to be 30 days. 60 days later, I'm still here shelling out money for certified mail with no end in sight and no results to show. This is my last option before I take this up with my lawyers and sue for full compensations and damages incurred. Finally, it seems that when these complaints are submitted, the bureaus are using the excuse that they " can't confirm my identity '' to get away with taking no actions on my credit report. Please investigate this as well.

Subissue: Problem with balance transfer
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I applied for and was approved for a Discover Card. In the application I aske for a balance transfer of {$7000.00}. I was approved for the card and given a {$2000.00} credit limit. There was no mention of the transfer balance. On XX/XX/XXXX, I noticed a {$1900.00} payment on my XXXX XXXX credit card. This was the account that I had requested the {$7000.00} balance transfer. I never requested a partial balance transfer and that option was never mentioned. I called Discover and they confirmed that the partial balance transfer was made and there was nothing they could do because the payment had already posted. The suggested that I call XXXX XXXX and ask for a refund and then pay the balance on the Discover Card account. I never asked for a partial balance transfer and I have not activated the card! I am going to call XXXX XXXX and request the refund, however, I am not very hopeful that they will accommodate me.

Consumer Complaint: I booked a room and when I entered the room it was disgusting! Rips in the couch, brown sheets that were once white, electric wires hanging from the wall, cabinets zip tied shut. When we tried to get out money back for the room the property manger went crazy and was verbally abusive. They refused a refund and charged our card again the next fraudulently. Discover would not dispute the charges and failed to protect us as promised.

Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Can't use card to make purchases
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2021 Was declined use of my Discover card at a gas station in XXXX, Ohio because I was over my credit limit. Pulled up my account online on my mobile phone and all transactions listed and posted do not exceed my credit line. Phoned Discover customer service and was on the phone for for a total of 1 hour and 23 minutes trying to resolve the problem. The problem, they told me was that my account was being held for ( 4 ) transactions to XXXX of {$51.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. I claimed I did not approve those transactions and the transaction I did approve had already posted to my account on XX/XX/XXXX23rd of {$51.00}. I am not able to view these " held '' transactions on my online account and am wondering why I am being held accountable for them????? And now unable to use my card because of them when I clearly have the available credit. I insisted that a complaint be filed and after much persistence I had the Discover rep with an ID of XXXX and the complaint memo line # XXXX. I attempted to phone Discover again ... this time 36 minutes to see if the situation would end differently with another rep and had the same response. Pending transactions have 10 days to post and their is nothing they can do until a transaction posts. Except, they hold the consumer responsible for it by counting it against their credit limit! How can a credit card company hold you responsible for pending credit transactions for up to 10 days and when you are unable to access this information from your online account. Their customer service reps couldn't even see these pending transactions that they were holding against me!

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: Discover card decided to unilaterally close my account last year. I was unaware that the account was closed for non-use, since I received no notification that I needed to use the card to keep it open. When I spoke with the customer service rep today, she was unwilling to submit my request to reopen the account. I have never missed a payment in the 20+ years I have held this card. It's clear Discover does not value my business and instead was attempting to " reduce risk '' by closing my account with no notice. I am beyond disappointed that this is how they are treating long-term customers.
