Consumer Complaint: I have never prior to last month submitted a complaint to the CFPB asking for Discover Card to finally response to my many written requests for a credit limit increase. The CFPB has proof of this. Discover Card fraudulently responded, that they have already addressed this, when they did not, and they could not. It is impossible to address something before it occurs, absent time travel. The CFPB has access to Discover Cards enraging wicked, prior responses, which prove that Discover Card has never addressed a credit limit increase before, and that their claiming otherwise is completely fraudulent. Discover Card is fully aware that I do not have, ( nor want ), their app, nor do I have a phone to download their app to. Discover Card continues to discriminate against me for not having a phone. Not having a phone is legal, discrimination is not. Discover Card has no legal basis to refuse to communicate with me in writing, let alone repeatedly. But Discover Cards refusing to communicate in writing is a huge red flag, which speaks volumes about their complete and repeated, lack of integrity. First rule of business, get it in writing. Second rule, anyone who will not put it in writing, is deceitful.

Consumer Complaint: I contacted my Student Loan provider in XX/XX/2021. My account at the time was current. My hours at work had recently been cut due to them needing to cut back some hours because business was slow due to the Covid Pandemic. The customer service agent I spoke to said they would be happy to assist me and it just so happened that Discover Student Loans had some temporary repayment options. I was told since my account was current i qualified to keep my account current even if i deferred the payment. I was happy. I started paying my loans back as agreed. But then I find out discover had reported my account delinquent when I thought we had an agreement. Now my credit score has dropped a significant amount. When I called Discover Student Loans to bring up this issue they said they had no record of said call. That they would have to look back and listen to the call and even then it wasn't a for sure because the call might have been deleted from their server. All they said was that they would talk to the employee but that I was basically XXXX out of luck and that was that. All they tell me is to dispute their claims. Its not fair that they tell the customers they will help when they actually don't. Now I'm suffering with negative remarks on my credit report and wont be able to buy the house I wanted to because this employee gave misleading information or just didn't care enough to adjust my account.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: Discover closed ( REVOKED ) my account claiming " malicious debt avoidance. '' The account was in good standing and all payments due were paid and up-to-date. The also confiscated my ORIGINAL negotiable instrument, valued at {$50000.00}, uploaded it to their database - but didn't return it to me. I submitted to Discover Financial Services, via certified mail/return receipt, a negotiable instrument, payable to bearer without recourse valued at XXXX XXXX dollars and XXXX/XXXX cents ( {$50000.00} ). The accompanying instructions provided that their remittance payment coupon was accepted by the consumer, endorsed and made payable to the bearer, and that the limit should be increased and that the balance should be zeroed out. According to [ Exhibit B ], the instrument ( document ) had been dishonored, and yet it has not been returned, to me. Discover Financial Services has both, caused harm and issued threats up my federally protected, lawful rights to services for personal, family, and household purposes. This harm is due directly from Discover Financial Services unfair practices and false and misleading representation. Discover Financial Services contacted the credit reporting agencies ( XXXX, and XXXX ) to inform them that they had closed the consumers credit account. This communication was unauthorized and an invasion of privacy, and an unfair practice.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, i sent discover a Cease and Desist and I never received a response. i sent the letter via certified mail. Discover bank denied me of credit and told me on one hand it was because XXXX furnished something on my consumer report, and they also said on the other hand XXXX had no part in the denial of credit. its very confusing and misleading.
