Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2021 Discover bank cashed a fraudulent check in the amount of {$42.00} without even reviewing it first. Subsequently, I was forced to jump thru all of their hoops including having NO access to my funds or account monitoring. I submitted the required affidavit for the fraudulent check and the bank issued a new account number. Since this is clearly rhe bank 's error I requested the funds be returned to my account and that request has been repeatedly denied! This error was not my fault but the bank 's yet they are attempting to force me to clean up this mess. Discover bank has destroyed all previous banking history for my previous account. I WANT MY FUNDS RETURNED

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of 2021, I applied to be extended credit from Discover. I applied through their website, providing them with my social security number. I was denied. XXXX XXXX XXXX I called Discover a XXXX days later and asked why I was denied. Discover representative stated it was because of information on a consumer report provided by XXXX. I expressed that I have a credit report that I can give them that is accurate because XXXX is furnished information about me that I have not consented to be furnished. The Discover representative ( who claimed to be a XXXX XXXX XXXX expressed Discover only gets reports from the three major credit bureaus which he stated are XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX. I asked, who made them the major three?. To which he had no response. I informed him that I am the original creditor and that Discover -since taking my XXXX digit security number ( social security number ) should extend credit back to me. He stated, that is not how it works. However, I know that is what the law states. He shared that Discover would not be extending me any credit.

The damages that were done directly impacted my XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, have taken away my time & energy to fight for my rights as a natural person, and have affected my XXXX XXXX due to the XXXX XXXX. The abusive practices of Discover have been tearing away at my life. Consumer Complaint: This is regarding my Discover Card which was hit with Fraud in XXXX and XXXX. Now they recv a 60 page fax sent to them with all the documents during the pandemic XX/XX/XXXX. Which I was told NOT to leave my house because I have no XXXX XXXX Then I was told they wanted a letter from post office regarding the fraud charges. 1st off the post office was closed and that was irrelevant because it involved XXXX XXXX XXXX and it would be useless. I never ever recv any products. I have been hacked in XXXX XXXX Massachusetts, Virginia and now Ohio which XXXX made me aware of because there are over XXXX in fraud chgs on my XXXX card and they still have NOT removed them it's been almost 2 mons. They were sent the email from XXXX that STATED SHE IS NOT RESPONDIBLE FOR ANY OF THESE CHGS, SHE WAS HACKED IN OHIO. I WAS ALSO TOLD NOT TO PAY MY XXXX PAYMENT I CALLED ON THE XXXX AND ASKED. 3 PEOPLE TOLD ME NOT TO MAKE THE PAYMENT BECAUSE I HAVE A FRAUD CLAIM. THEY ALSO SENT ME A 2ND CARD THAT I NEVER RECEIVED. NOW THEY CALL 4X A DAY FOR A PAYMENT. BACK TO DISCOVER. THEY TURNED AROUND AND HAD REMOVED ALL THE FRAUD CHARGES. MY BILL WAS XXXX THEN .... A YR LATER THEY ADDED A LUMP SUM OF CHGS OF XXXX OF FRAUD CHGS. THESE WERE OVER 90 DAYS OLD. I CALLED AND ASKED FOR A BREAKDOWN THEY SAID NO. I SAID THEY ARE OVER 90 DAYS AND THAT IS AGAINST THE LAW. THEY SAID WE DONT CARE. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO. OH YOU HAVE NO IDEA. THEN THE NEXT MONTH THEY LOWER MY CREDIT LIMIT TO XXXX AND ADD XXXX IN FRAUD CHARGES AND I CALLED AGAIN TRIED TO EXPLAIN THE 60 PAGE FAX. WHY DID YOU PUT THESE FRAUD CHGS BACK ON MY BILL BECAUSE WE CAN. NOT IF THEY ARE OVER 90 DAYS OLD. WE DONT CARE. MY BALANCE IS STILL XXXX. THEY HAD PUT ME ON A 6MO. AUTO WITHDRAWAL FROM OUR CHECKING ACCT FOR XXXX AND NO INTEREST SO THIS BILL WAS. XXXX THEY HAVE UPED THE INTEREST RATE TO XXXX PERCENT SO MY PAYMENT IS XXXX AND THE INTEREST IS XXXX WHAT THE XXXX IS THAT. SO I am paying XXXX a mon on this bill. That is beyond wrong besides having all the fraudulent charges on there. SO THERE IS XXXX AND XXXX IN FRAUD CHGS ON MY BILL THEY WILL NOT REMOVE AND DO NOT CARE THAT THEY PUT THEM BACK ON MY CARD WHICH WERE WELL OVER 90 DAYS. THEY HAVE NEVER EVER REMOVED A FRAUD CHG. THEY RECV 4 POLICE REPORTS AND ONE WAS JUST FOR THEM THE OTHER DAY I RECV A LETTER THAT STATED I APPLIED FOR A PERSONAL LOAN WITH DISCOVER 1ST OFF I WOULD NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YRS APPLY FOR A PERSONAL LOAN LET ALONE WITH DISCOVER. SO THAT IS ALSO FRAUDULENT. I THINK PERSONALLY THEY DID IT. BECAUSE WHEN I CALLED THERE AND TOLD THE REP EVERYTHING SHE WAS FILING A COMPLAINT FOR THE CO SHE WORKS FOR DISCOVER HAS BEEN OUT TO GET ME FROM THE 1ST FRAUD CHARGE. MY IDENTITY HAS BEEN STOLEN SINCE XXXX IN THE XXXX BREACH AND HAS BEEN A PURE NIGHTMARE EVER SINCE ALL MY CREDIT CARDS HAVE BEEN CLOSED XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX PROBLEM IS I WAS PAYING ON THESE CARDS EXCEPT THE XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX WHOM I HAD THE ATTORNEY GENERAL INVOLVED IN. HE TOLD ME TO SUE THEM. BECAUSE THEY WERE ALSO PROVIDED WITH EVERYTHING I EVEN INCLUDED THE CEO IN MY EMAILS. THEY DECLINED EVERYTHING AND SHUT DOWN ALL CARDS. MY LIFE IS HORRIBLE AND THE ID THEFT PLAN I PAID FOR CALLED ME ONE TIME. I SENT 10X EMAILS AND NO RESPONSE I AM XXXX AND XXXX XXXX AND MY HUSBAND WAS XXXX WITH XXXX XXXX XXXX THIS IS NOT THE WAY WE SHOULD BE LIVING. THEY HAVE COMPLETELY TRASH MY CREDIT. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021, my account was at a - {$360.00} due to several refunds and payments that were applied. My statement closing date for that month is XX/XX/XXXX. Since my account was at a negative, I requested I be reimbursed the - {$360.00} via a check, which was sent to me via mail. I did receive the check, although I've yet to cash it. On XX/XX/2021, Discover added the {$360.00} back to my balance for XX/XX/2021 's statement. This makes 0 sense to me. I was owed a credit/refund, but now I owe Discover the money back? If I were to make a purchase at a store and decided to return the item for a refund, I wouldnt then pay the store in the amount of the credit that was owed to me. I dont see how it would be any different for Discover. I asked XXXX supervisors to investigate, but no one has provided me with a satisfactory answer.

Consumer Complaint: This notice is to inform you that Discover Financial Services is unlawfully reporting a Charged-off item on my Consumer Report. The IRS states that for amounts of {$600.00} or more, the Creditor must issue a 1099C ( which is a cancellation of debt ) and which the consumer must file with their tax return as earned income. Said 1099C was issued by Discover Financial Svcs to me and I filed it with my tax returns as earned income. Income is not reported on Consumer Reports. So I do not see why this item is still being reported on my Consumer Report when it was already reported as income on my Tax Return and I paid on it. It can not be both ways ... .it 's either a Charge-off or " Taxable Income '' According to FCRA, anything that is incorrect must be deleted from my Consumer Report. The Fair Credit Reporting Act of 1970 requires reporting agencies or creditors to follow reasonable procedures to assure maximum possible accuracy of consumer reports, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 e ( b ), and imposes liability on [ a ] ny person who willfully fails to comply with any requirement [ of the Act ] with respect to any individual, section 1681n ( a ). I spoke with an Account Manager this morning and asked for the item to be removed and she refused. I am requesting that Discover Financial Svcs initiates the deletion of the erroneous item from my Consumer file with all credit reporting agencies such as XXXX, XXXX, XXXX and any other credit reporting agencies. Consumer Complaint: Discover Financial services advised me I would have to sign an IRS release for my tax returns in order to keep my account active & open, once I signed the release & before they got the information the locked my account & refused to allow purchases. When I called to find out why, they said it's locked until they get the information from the IRS. In my 20 years I've never had a credit card company ask for my tax returns for verification, I do believe Discover is targeting me because I filed another complaint against them for not apply my payments correctly.

Consumer Complaint: Discover bank approved me for a secured credit card with an opening deposit of {$2000.00}. After the opening deposit was paid I was sent an email from discover bank stating they cant open my account until I authorize them to review my tax statements. I did not feel comfortable with this company reviewing my tax statements so I called on XX/XX/XXXX and requested my security deposit be returned. The gentleman stated that the account would be closed as I had not received a card and my security deposit would be returning in the next 10 business days. 4 other times during the month of XXXX I contacted Discover bank inquiring about my security deposit and each representative stated that it had been mailed out. On XX/XX/2021 I spoke with a supervisor XXXX out of Ohio that advised me that even though the account was closed and the card had never been activated the security deposit was never processed to be returned. She then proceeded to say it wasnt her fault and all she could tell me is it will take 3 days for her supervisor to review it then another 10 days before I would get a check mailed to me. I advised her that I have given discover bank over 30 days and that I needed an answer as to when my money would be return. XXXX then told me there is nothing else she can tell me and after I requested to be transferred to someone who can help me she hung up the line.
