Consumer Complaint: Discover has my card locked because of this IRS consent form to access my tax records. They are threatening to close the account in XXXX if I don't give them access to my tax records. They stated they need to verify personal information and the IRS is the ones they trust to provide that. They didn't use the IRS when they issued these cards, they was able to verify you without the IRS so, why you need them now. If they close my account that hurts my credit score and I'm in a program to repair my credit and buy a house, I can't afford to have this hit now.

Consumer Complaint: This is a consecutive time that I am already filling a complaint about the same issue. Discover is willfully and negligently not complying pursuant to 15 U.S. Code 1681n and 15 U.S. Code 1681o. My account has been closed under false pretenses. I began to dispute an unlawful inquiry made by Discover. Discover was the one who committed fraud and identity theft when pulling my social security and using my open end credit plan to open my credit card account. Near two years later, I found this violation of identity theft and fraud. My identity was stolen and then a finance charge was made to do the paperwork for opening my credit card equal to the amount of credit that was extended. I already requested paperwork to show the original creditor of the transaction, which is me. My credit gives Discover 's corporation life. The request for this information was covered up with documents that had nothing to do with my request. Discover knows that they are in the wrong here, and I as a natural person and consumer am protected by Congress and the laws under the Consumer Protection. In addition to this violation, Discover is wrongly attempting to collect the remaining balance on the account that was closed. Pursuant to 15 U.S. Code 1692, Discover is misrepresenting me as the consumer and using abusive debt collection practices to collect the remaining balance on my account.

XXXX, If you look closely at the paperwork that i have attached under files, ( and had also emailed them to you recently ) you will notice the document with the date of XX/XX/XXXX. Consumer Complaint: After defaulting on one of my student loans, I had scheduled some monthly hardship payments over the phone. The first installment I had scheduled was in XXXX where I spoke to XXXX. She explained my limited options and suggested a settlement plan with their own private debt collection agency. Her explanation was brief and I asked where I could get more information on their specific program/policy. I was told they are common and I could do a generalized search online. I explained how I wanted something company-specific so I could understand what I would be agreeing to with no success. I scheduled 3 monthly hardship payments and ended up calling again in XXXX to schedule 2 more. During that call, I asked again for specific information for their settlement option. I was navigated to the bottom of their website for more something more specific but it ended up being a wild goose chase. This week, I sent a message to their customer support explicitly requesting literature for their settlements be sent to my email address on file. The next day, I was sent a generic reply to call their direct support line so they could better assist me. I do not think it should be this hard to make an informed decision about how I handle my debt.
