Consumer Complaint: Discover was contacted to settle an account due to a life hardship. They agreed to settle the debt for less and provided the amount and payments to be made over a period of time. In the meantime, I was advised that my balance would be reflected as the amount settled and the payments would reduce the amount. Discover was contacted in XXXX for settlement a second time in mid XXXX to correct the reporting issue as it has been over 30 days which they advised would be the time needed to report to the credit bureaus. When I contacted them on XX/XX/2022 when the payment did not come out of the account I requested help to report payments being made and that the balance was incorrect. At this time the representative advised me that Discover will not report payments made and that the balance reduction would be for the full amount. This contradicts the agreement that was made and also does not show the monthly payments made. Discover in addition reports the account as a charge off with no payments being made monthly. This further harms my credit and ability to move forward with my need for credit. In addition they are reporting incorrect information. I have reached out to Discover and all credit bureaus with the information to be corrected.

Consumer Complaint: Discover is my longest standing credit card. I have had it since I was in college. I paid it down this past year to a XXXX balance and they increased my credit limit. Without notice, I received an email saying my account is closed and its final. This will affect my credit as this is a long standing card. I carry this card for emergency purposes but because I paid it off this year and cant make money off me they closed my account without notice.

Consumer Complaint: I had received a call in XXXX from Discover Card to ask me if I tried to open an additional account at which time I explained that I had made no application. Discover then told me that there is FRAUD on the account and the account would be frozen until I completed a 4506T verifying my information. I received a 4506T Doc-U-Sign from Discover from XXXX authorizing the IRS to validate my information. I executed the 4506T and it was rejected by the IRS as I had moved and my address had changed. Discover advised me to add my former address to line 4 of the 4506T and it was again rejected. I had called Discover again and then they sent me another Doc-U-Sign 4506T which was again rejected so Discover automatically closed my account as it was rejected 3 times from the IRS. Discover sent me an e-mail saying that they had closed my account due to conflicting information. I called Discover and asked " WHY '' they closed my account due to conflicting information as they sent me the Doc-U-Sign that they completed??? I have to highlight that I had told Discover that I did not receive the initial Doc-U-Sign at which time I received 2 additonal 4506T forms and I completed them both which the IRS rejected as they were both completed with the identical information. My card had a {$1300.00} balance at the time I was informed the account was closed and I paid the balance due to the Supervisor on the phone immediately so if they couldn't resolve my issue there would be no balance on the account. My pay practices with Discover had garnered me an increase in my account availability from the initial {$5000.00} to {$12000.00} over the 4 years I had the card at the time the account was closed.

Consumer Complaint: I never late or missed payment with Discover Card I was planning to pay it down in order to get a custom PC in a few months but I just found out my Discover Card is closed not just because they closed it they also killing the credit age I only had this card for almost 8 months. I really want to stay with Discover Card so they told me they send me the letter in days but I didn't miss any payment or missed payment so what 'em closed my account suddenly? I do want to build a great relationship with Discover Bank. They made my account closed and made it really bad for me. I do not authorize 'em to close my account or ask for closing my account in any reason so this is why I write a complaint against Discover Bank.

Consumer Complaint: I the consumer had an account with Discover financial services. While having Discover I was not satisfied with their services and rescinded ( 15 usc 1635 ) the contract with them. By law, after XXXX days of issuing them a notice. I was suppose to receive refund via check. They discovered cleared the balance and then issued a refund to my credit card balance and told me that the account will be closed after I withdraw the funds. When I tried to use the card they locked it and I was unable to withdraw my funds. I called them several times asking about this issue and a rep name XXXX said they will send me the check to the mailing location listed on file. I never received the check, I have an available balance on my credit card that I can use but im locked out of it. Discover has been charging me interest and late fees since the account has been closed and its canceling out my refund. I spoke with XXXX from the executive office who was rude and incompetent, refused to handle this matter and ignored the federal laws when it was brought up. I have the conversation recorded

Discover clearly states in their letter to expect a response within 30-90 days and CFPB closed the case before the response was received. Please reopen the case as it is NOT settled. We can solve this case in one day. All Discover bank has to do is to show the signature on the credit card application form AND the I.D . Used by the applicant and we will have our answer. Like I said I was living overseas since 2010 with NO legal address or utility bills hence could not produced the same. Do the right thing. Do not close this case until it is resolved. Thank you. The first two weeks were trial basis so while waiting for my company card and after filling out their employment documents and payroll forms, they paid down my discover charge to be utilized for purchasing items on their purchase orders. I have lots of documentation on this issue. After the items were purchased and shipped to XXXX XXXX XXXX they reversed their bank payment against my card resulting in 8500 of items bought with my own money. I tried to dispute both the purchases and the payments against my card and discover will not resolve.

Consumer Complaint: I order face cream online costing {$5.00} and {$6.00}, XX/XX/2021. The companies XXXX XXXX XXXX Tx XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX TX billed my Discover card $ XXXX {$61.00} decided to bill me again without my consent XX/XX/XXXX. Discover was alerted it was fraud and put in a dispute. Unfortunately they charged again in XXXX and Discover let it go through. I disputed it again. I paid off Discover which they told me was the final amount of {$2000.00} but then got a bill for {$3800.00}. They also sent a credit for {$72.00} so I thought I didn't owe any money. I got another bill so I called and paid it over the phone on XX/XX/XXXX for {$38.00} which again was supposed to pay off the bill in full. They charged me another late fee of XXXX but I did not get the bill because it came to my second home and I had been assured that it had been paid in full. I went to my second home and looked at my bill and they had charged another late fee on top of that one... all of these late fees are for not paying late fees... which is based upon them rejecting the dispute ... and charging and then charging multiple late fees. I have again paid them and they have assured me that I have a 0 balance ... and this point I don't trust that it has been paid. I would like to lodge a formal complaint

Consumer Complaint: Discover Card Company... secured credit card deposit REFUND. I applied for a secured credit card by phone ( around the end of XX/XX/XXXX or beginning of XXXX, XXXX ) with several follow-up calls, and also sent info by email. The process was complicated and frustrating ; their agents each told me different answers to questions. I let them debit my checking account for {$300.00} deposit. They acknowledge the deposit. After I submitted the deposit, I was told to call to activate the card. I called. Only now ( after receiving my {$300.00} deposit ), did they say that they needed three months bank statements. I had moved from XXXX XXXX to XXXX, XXXX, recently closed my checking account in XXXX, opened a new one in XXXX. Waiting for 3 months for new bank statements was longer than the amount of time they were allowing to submit the information. After so many phone calls, several requests from them for me to submit additional information, being put on many long holds, and being transferred from agent to agent, I decided during the activation process to cancel the card. It was " NEVER ACTIVATED '' and COULD NOT BE USED. I tore it up and disposed of it. They acknowledge that no charges were ever incurred by the card. The agent cancelled the card and said it would take 2 monthly payment cycles plus 10 days to send me a refund check that would arrived on or about XX/XX/XXXX. Later, I spoke to an agent who told me that since the card was not activated, I could receive an expedited refund in 13 days. 13 days passed. No refund came to my account or by mail. I called and was told their records showed no refund was issued, and that they would re-submit the refund request ; it would take another 13 days. 13 days passed, and no refund. I called and was told the records showed a refund was authorized ; but no action had been taken, that my conversations with approximately 12 different agents did not show in their records, and it would take another 13 days! No refund came. With various 'stories ', they have continually, intentionally delayed the refund ; and I am concerned it will never be refunded! After each conversation with them, my XXXX XXXX is near or over the XXXX XXXX and I have XXXX!!! I can not deal directly with them any more. I suppose some people just give up. I believe they cheat people out of refunds and/or delay refunds to increase their " interest income ''. Can you help me to receive a prompt refund? Discover Card has my current address.
