Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Consumer Complaint: ( THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IM WRITING THIS, BECAUSE YOUR WEBSITE ERASED MY TEXT WHEN I TRIED TO SUBMIT IT THE FIRST TIME ) False and misleading messaging in an email from Discover Card. Discover card sent me an email stating they had " Received my payment! '' I owe Discover card {$63.00} this month. I have not had more than {$30.00} in my checking account this month. Therefore it is mathematically impossible that they have " received my payment ''. I contacted my bank, XXXX, and inquired if payment had been made. They informed me there were no processed or pending transactions for {$63.00} to Discover. I contacted Discover, spoke with no less than 3 support agents, and was informed that they had received a check with my name and checking account debit information on it. XXXX informed me that they had not issued such a check. I suspect this was a pre-produced check authorized as part of a paydown plan, which I vaguely recall having agreed to. Regardless, a check / authorized debit attempt is not a " payment ''. It is a payment attempt. Payment is not made until it has been processed by my bank and debited from my account. Discover cards email messaging should reflect this accurately, and not offer misleading information that leads me to believe I have made payment and don't need to worry at the moment about ensuring I have sufficient funds.

Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: My son has been partaking in the after school program with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX in XXXX, Georgia during the second half of this school year. A couple weeks into his enrollment, he began describing incidents of XXXX XXXX by other kids at the center that weren't being addressed by the staff. This eventually resulted in my son XXXX XXXX assaulted on the bus to this program and continued as XXXX XXXX by other kids at the center itself. When I brought up these issues with the staff, I was met with hostility from the CEO and when I asked to just be refund refunded for the {$50.00} we had prepaid for the upcoming month of service that had not begun yet I was told they don't do refunds and was physically removed from the property. I disputed this charge with discover, as I made the payment with this card, but my claim has been denied based upon what is in my opinion an unfair policy. I hope to get this resolved as I do not feel it is right that I have paid for a service I never received and am unable to redeem at a different location.

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low
Subissue: Overdrafts and overdraft fees
Consumer Complaint: i bank with discover.com with checking, savings & credit card accts. overdraft protection is set up for checking by savings acct. appreciate that discover waives almost all fees. however, they keep sending paper letters to notify of insufficient funds in my checking acct, even with just {$1.00} insufficient amt. time & again i wld leave complaint msgs & they wld just say it's their policy. i wld mention abt the green new deal, or save time, effort & pay, it's a wasteful policy, etc. besides i'm enrolled in overdraft already so why notify me still? i get emails also & by the time i get those paper letters, the overdraft transfers were made already. so those ppr notices only go straight to the wastebasket unopened. so which part don't they understand? i even asked if i cld write to their superiors or even to discover 's president. idk how long patience can go far. thus, i'm doing this as you had helped me in the past & hoping you wld do the same with discover. it may seem unimportant, but they shld at least cater to my request. family members hv the same issue. thank you!
