Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Credit card company won't increase or decrease your credit limit
Consumer Complaint: I realized this inaccuracy on XXXX Due to this inaccuracy, my right to extend credit has been damaged to a great extent. As a result, I was discriminated against and refused the following. I have called this company several times throughout this year and asked for the suspension on this account to be removed. However, I am being told over the phone, that Discover checks my Consumer Report every month. Yet, Im being denied a credit increase and Suspension removal. Discover Financial Services is also reporting to third party companies my private credit transaction information. I mailed a letter on XX/XX/ and have received no response. As a result, I have been denied mortgage loans and Auto Loans. According to 15 USC 1681 ( a ) ( 3 ) Consumer reporting agencies have assumed a vital role in assembling and evaluating consumer credit and other information on consumers. I would like to inform that I NEVER gave consent to this report being furnished on my behalf and I am also aware of the fact that Discover Bank XXXX Discover Financial Services assumed a vital role. As a result, my livelihood has been adversely affected. There is no such law that states anything that needs to be reported to a consumer reporting agency. Therefore, your organization is liable. Further, pursuant 15 USC 1681 ( a ) ( 4 ), a consumer reporting agency must exercise their grave responsibilities with fairness, impartiality and a respect for the consumers right to privacy. Therefore, this company has not only infringed my right to privacy but also denied me an extension of credit, reported in accurate information and violated multiple FEDERAL LAWS.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: On the discover mobile XXXX app you need to click into a payment date when you go to make a payment. That section of the app hasnt been clickable since at least XX/XX/2022. You click it and it doesnt open to allow you to make a selection. I have submitted feedback through the app several times and called discover to ask about it. I got routed to several people, I believe 3 or 4, and was told by one that they were aware of the issue and just hadnt been able to resolve it yet. I told them it seems like a way to get people to avoid making payments so that they can charge higher interest and late fees. Everyone I know, especially around my age ( mid XXXX ) pays their bills via mobile apps. It has been messed up for 6 months and apparently people are aware of the problem. Their app is fully functional everywhere else.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: Discover bank is intentionally misreporting negative information on my credit reports to keep my credit score from recovering. I went through financial difficulty about 4 years ago and I am trying to move on but I can't get my credit to recover because of the continuous misreporting by Discover bank. I have attempted to resolve this issue with all three credit bureaus to the point where now when I attempt to dispute this account I get an automated message that says they will no longer investigate this account. I am going to list all of the incorrect information that is being reported and I am going to attach images directly from their sites that show what I am talking about. The first thing that Discover is reporting is an available credit amount on a charged off account so that it will impact my overall credit usage which hurts my credit score. Discover is reporting that I currently have a {$3000.00} credit limit on an account that has been closed for four years. Discover bank is also reporting a new charge-off each month which adds new negative information to my credit report each month instead of allowing the account to age properly and therefore impacting my credit score less as time goes on. On the XXXX credit report, Discover Bank states that account was closed on XXXX. However, the payment history reports that XX/XX/XXXX is 120 days late and XX/XX/XXXX is 120 days late. It is not until XX/XX/XXXX that the account is reported as charged off. Discover bank is also reporting that there was a {$3000.00} credit limit between XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX even though the account has been closed since XXXX. On the XXXX payment history, Discover bank reports XX/XX/XXXX as 90 days late and reports XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX as 120 days late even though the account was charged off in XX/XX/XXXX.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Card opened as result of identity theft or fraud
Consumer Complaint: My husband opened this Discover credit account using my information without my consent. He has done this with 3 separate XXXX accounts and a XXXX 's account and is currently under investigation by the US Fraud Department. I do not deny that I knew this account existed. However, I was told that I was an authorized user on my husband 's Discover account when given the cards in XXXX. The card was managed and paid by my husband since XXXX until XXXX of XXXX when we separated and he stopped making the payments, stating that the above named accounts were in my name and would not affect his credit if the payments were not made. I made 3 payments so it would not affect my credit and realized I had rights to dispute this account so I started that process by disputing this account several times as fraud and identity theft. Discover has only provided vague letters stating their investigation was complete and the debt was mine. They would rebill the account to me. I was advised to take further action and file an FTC report and police report which I did. I also made requests for information relating to my account under the Fair Credit Reporting Act several times and this information has not been provided to verify the debt that Discover is deeming as my responsibility.

Consumer Complaint: DO NOT CLOSE THIS COMPLAINT. It is not a duplicate and was not requested by anyone other than me, XXXX XXXX. I received a letter from the CFPB stating complaint XXXX, XXXX and XXXX were closed because someone other than me requested it. That is incorrect so Im resubmitting this complaint. The credit card company has reported utilization on my consumer report to XXXX, XXXX and XXXX without my permission. They also never notified me in writing that they were going to do this. This has caused me severe financial and mental distress. Now I'm unable to obtain personal and business credit. I'm unable to pay my bills and currently have no income. I attempted to get them to remove the unauthorized information but they ignored my request.
