Consumer Complaint: Discover Bank Account # XXXX Dear Consumer Financial Protection Bureau XXXX I am writing to report a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act by XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX This creditor has re-aged an account on my credit report, which is a violation of the FCRA XXXX This account should be removed immediately from my credit report. The creditor has reported an account that was closed in XXXX as being open, reported and active in XXXX. This is a clear violation of the FCRA, as it is illegal for creditors to report inaccurate information about accounts that have been closed or paid off. Reaging an account is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). This act states that creditors must not report inaccurate information about a consumer 's credit history. Reaging an account involves changing the date of delinquency on a consumer 's credit report to make it appear as if the debt is more recent than it actually is. This can have a negative impact on a consumer 's credit score and can lead to higher interest rates or even denial of credit. I have included documentation with this letter to prove that the account was closed in XXXX and should not be reported as open or active on my credit report. I request that this account be removed from my credit report immediately and that any negative impact it has had on my credit score be reversed. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Consumer Complaint: Contacted company in XX/XX/XXXX for credit limit increase and it was granted. I was granted {$4800.00} limit in XXXX and by XXXX my limit was decreased to {$2800.00} without notice. I contact the company to see why this was done and they stated that they can randomly do credit checks to decrease or increase limits. I advised them that I had the same income that I had when the increase was approved so what is the issue? I was told that they do random credit checks and felt my income did not suffice. I sent a letter to Cease and Desist on XX/XX/XXXX after I was told that it was after 30 days to go through the reconsideration line. Provided with the complaint will be my XXXX of XXXX in regards to this account. I explained that I never got any documentation of the reasoning on why this was done and they then sent me a letter XX/XX/XXXX after the account was changed and my initial call was placed to the company in regards to the change in XX/XX/XXXX. In my correspondence to the company regarding the violations of my consumer rights as a natural person with 5 notices of violations they sent me a letter reiterating my current balance ( balance at the time of {$690.00} ) as updated as of XX/XX/XXXX and updated payment history that I never was late on. They totally disregarded my request as a consumer after violating my rights. All my concerns were discussed in my Cease and Desist letter that were clearly ignored. I continue to receive statements electronically which yet shows another violation of my consumer rights. This information is my XXXX to cure after failure to comply with other request when documents were sent for resolution.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: I, XXXX XXXX XXXX attempted to remain in honor by tendering payment via an ambiguous negotiable instrument in the form of a paid U.S. Postal Money order. Which clearly states at the bottom that it is a negotiable instrument which I bought and paid for the rights to negotiate it. Money order number XXXX was made with the proper clauses and provision based on banking law in the amount of {$8700.00} in accordance with HJR-192 Public Law 72-10, U.C.C 3-603 ( b ), U.C.C. 3-311 and public law for negotiable instruments to Discover Bank on XX/XX/2022. They accepted my instrument, but did not credit my account correctly. I did call on ( date you called ) and spoke with ( all the people you spoke with ) recording will be attached and they refused to stand in honor of the law by applying the proper payment. Even with the agreeing that they do accept legal tender, which is what I provided. Even with the ability for the instrument to remain negotiable which is an even greater benefit for them. I am filing a complaint and asking for an immediate investigation to rectify the situation without levy so they may remain in honor. As it stands they are committing an illegal act and are currently in dishonor, as their practices are against the laws in which our country is built on.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XX/XX/2023, money transfer features including XXXX was unavailable for use with Discover Bank checking account. Online app showed some features are temporarily unavailable. Bank representative on the phone failed to specify the time for outage - hours, days or weeks? She just said this is unplanned and that a better answer is not available, not even an estimate. This is unacceptable as money transfer abilities on my own accounts is essential for me, and it is concerning as in the past their XXXX option had been down for weeks. I would like at the very least for Discover Bank to respect the customer enough to provide an estimated timeframe.

Consumer Complaint: I am victim of idenity Fraud and someone stole about {$100000.00} from one of my secure account in XXXX XXXX being not used for any purpose after opening it. Bank tried to recover money from all banks after sending fraud recovery request. All banks returned the money except one, Discover Bank. When I notified about illegal or unauthorized activity to Discover bank, they recognized, and their investigation concluded that account was not opened by me using my SSN, address and Name. They also sent me letter confirming their investigation. However, when XXXX XXXX sent fraud recovery request to Discover Bank, they have responded back in contrary to their investigation, stating that the transfer was legitimate and denying the request. This is fraudulent. When I am contacting XXXX XXXX they are asking me to contact Discover Bank and ask for money. When I am contacting Discover Bank they are not willing to talk with me as stating account is not opened by me and so they would not talk to me. After repeating the try, I was able to talk to the fraud department of the Discover Bank, they said, they have completed their investigation and I should be contacting my bank ( XXXX bank ). Basically both banks are bouncing me back and forth. It seems Discover is playing to avoid returning money taken from my XXXX account. I need to resolve this and need help resolving this issue. Thank you.
