I am a victim of identity theft & this is a result of this. Discover BankXXXX Opened XX/XX/XXXX. Balance is currently {$840.00} and has went into charge off status. Consumer Complaint: Discover has insufficiently addressed my dispute XXXX. The order in question clearly indicates that the item was returned successfully and refund should be fully issued ( XXXX ). In this order, I was charged successfully for two monthly payments- one payment of XXXX XXXX XXXX and one payments of {$63.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. However, I have only received a refund of {$95.00} from the merchant. Upon careful examination of my transaction history with Discover, it is unmistakable that there is an outstanding credit amount of {$63.00} yet to be processed ( XXXX XXXX ). It is essential to emphasize that the {$180.00} displayed on the merchant 's order page solely represents the remaining payment balance and not the amount I have already paid ( Remaining Balance ). Moreover, my interaction with XXXX customer service on XX/XX/XXXX corroborated that a pending refund of {$63.00} remains unprocessed in the merchant 's account ( XXXX XXXX ), but somehow merchant indicated they have resolved it with my card issuer, which is Discover Bank XXXX XXXX Response ). It is disconcerting that your team has managed to exacerbate the situation for your customer. This demonstrates a concerning lack of competence and empathy when addressing customer issues.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I entered a consumer credit transaction with Discover which I extended them credit. Discover never provided adequate notice which clearly and conspicuously mentions the pertinent facts of the transaction. The term " adequate notice '' means a printed notice to a cardholder that sets forth the pertinent facts clearly and conspicuously so that a consumer against whom it is to operate could reasonably be expected to have noticed it and understood its meaning. Since the adequate notice was not given. I couldn't understand which is a violation of 15 USC 1602 ( k ). Further, a consumer must be aware of the cost of transactions. Since I was not aware of the transactions therefore I made an uniformed decision and it resulted in multiple billing errors and unfair credit card practices. According to 15 USC 1602 ( p ). The term " unauthorized use '' means a use of a credit card by a person other the cardholder ( consumer ) who does not have actual, implied, or apparent authority for such use from which the cardholder receives no benefit. From Discover 's end, I have not benefited from this transaction which is a violation of 15 USC 1602 ( p ).

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX and Discover Bank as defined by the IRS Form 1099-C even if I didnt receive a form 1099, I must report canceled debt as gross income on my tax return. IRS clearly defines charge-offs as gross or ordinary income and is not reported on the consumer report which makes your reporting inaccurate! By definition the IRS clearly says a cancel or charge-off is income. 15 U.S. Code 1681a ( 2 ) ( a ) ( 2 ) Exclusions.Except as provided in paragraph ( 3 ), the term consumer report does not include ( A ) subject to section 1681s3 of this title, any ( i ) report containing information solely as to transactions or experiences between the consumer and the person making the report. Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Consumer Complaint: I woke up on XX/XX/XXXX to an email from Discover Credit Card saying there was a new credit inquiry on my credit report. When I logged into my account and looked at the inquiry was from XXXX XXXX XXXX and I called Discover 's number that was provided if I didn't recognize this transaction. The woman who helped me said that it was a pull from XXXX XXXX XXXX bank and mentioned that they also work with XXXX. I mentioned to her that in the summer of XXXX, my XXXX account was hacked and both my debit and this credit card were used for almost {$1000.00} between the two cards. As she was explaining what I could do ( including filling out this report ), I detached both cards from my current XXXX account and logged out. The woman with Discover helped me put a freeze on my card for pulling hard credit checks and I'm trying to fill out all this information to get this resolved.

Consumer Complaint: Discover card has refused to intentionally review in full, this request for consideration to refund, despite an online initial request with several agents stating this is an unusual situation. COMPLAINT Letter regarding DISPUTE XXXX XX/XX/XXXX COMPLAINT I am writing to advise you that I am unhappy with the decision taken not to refund payment as requested in my prior letter date XX/XX/XXXX. I booked my travel with XXXX XXXX based company called XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Company number XXXXXXXX XXXX : XXXX. This company entered insolvency on XX/XX/XXXX. This has left many people, I included, out of pocket for future travel with them in XXXX.This tour was to take place on XX/XX/XXXX. This Discover card was used to satisfy the full payment to XXXX on XXXX XXXX for {$3400.00}. ( Citation from 1 XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX and is found in the uploaded information in my account in your Securities tab ) I appreciate that there are time-scales for refunds to be initiated, but I had no reason to believe up until XX/XX/XXXX that my tour would not be honored. I am part of an XXXX XXXX group of failed customers who are aware that many financial companies including XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, and XXXX have already made refund payments to XXXX customers, because of this and their willingness to understand this is unusual. This payment was made in good faith by me and I trusted in the fact that in using Discover 's credit card for a future travel event, that I was covered in case of failure. I have been a loyal customer since XXXX of XXXX and have never experienced a set back like this. On a personal level, I would find this refusal to refund my money devastating. I placed my trust in your financial institution and was certain you had measures in place to protect me as a valued customer in a case like this. I would ask that you reconsider the position regarding my request and return funds to my account using the Chargeback mechanism as I was not able to use them for the intended purchase. In my Discover credit card account, I have all the uploaded information for review and can support that I attempted to contact several times XXXX for a full refund, though they claimed funds could not be refunded and could only be used for future tours. As soon as it became Internationally known, I actively researched to get this hard earned money back. Thank you and I am sure this is now another of many requests you have encountered regarding the failure of XXXX.
