Consumer Complaint: This is in regards to a Late Payment Dispute for DISCOVER BANK XXXX Credit Card. My credit report shows a 30 day past due payment on XX/XX/XXXX for this account. Per my Statement attachment, this is incorrect. A payment was due on XX/XX/XXXX and made on XX/XX/XXXX. There was an interruption in the auto-pay which is why there was a few day delay in payment ( not 30 days ) and why the late charge was refunded. I also called Discover customer service on the week of XX/XX/XXXX and confirmed this with a customer service representative as well as an escalations manager. There is no 30 day late payment in their system, all payments are shown as on time.

Consumer Complaint: I received a letter from Discover Financial dates XX/XX/XXXX that stated they received an application to open a Bank Account but were unable to verify the information and rejected the application. I NEVER APPLIED FOR A DISCOVER BANK ACCOUNT. IT WAS AN ATTEMPT TO USE MY IDENITY BY SOMEONE ELSE. I called Discover and they did nothing to help me identify the source of the application. I asked for a copy of the application in order to see if there was a piece of information on it that would help identify the person who submitted it. They claimed they did not have the application and referred me to XXXX to put a stop on requests for my credit information. This is the second time someone has attempted to use my identity with a financial institution. You are the agency designed to protect consumers from financial fraud. I want Discover to provide a copy of the application that was rejected so I can see if anything on the application can identify who submitted the application. DON'T GIVE ME A BUNCH OF DOUBLE TALK. Consumer Complaint: After the hospitalization of my child for approximately three months in XXXX, my spouse lost income for that time period and our debt grew because of the trips back and forth to the hospital and care required after being discharged. The debt is mine and my only income is XXXX XXXX XXXX. The debt collector continued to call throughout the day for a period of time, but there was nothing I could do. In XX/XX/XXXX, I received a Court Complaint about owing the money. I contacted the law firm listed and could not reach anyone. I kept trying and finally spoke to someone about the debt. I was told there is nothing I can do and they could not discuss it with me. I kept calling and finally was able to speak with someone about an arrangement for the debt. They sent me an arrangement dated XX/XX/XXXX. It stated as long as I made payments as agreed no further action would be taken. I made payments monthly as agree. Now I have received a letter from them asking for Motion for Default Judgment. The notification states I have failed to answer complaint.

Consumer Complaint: First, I personally never received a phone call, the call family members and leave messages with them. In turn, my family members have let me know. This has just happened today ( XX/XX/2023 ) and the message is from a XXXX XXXX claiming to be with County PSD Division, and says there are legal documents requiring my signature. She then gives a phone number, XXXX and says to reference case file # XXXX. I proceeded to call the number and a man answers the phone very quickly and you can't understand who the company is that he is working for. I was very nice initially giving him the case number and he then proceeds to tell me that a civil case is being processed on me regarding and outstanding debt. I then questioned him on what the debt was and he proceeds to tell me it's a Discover Credit Card. I told him I've never had a Discover Credit Card as you can pull my credit report and see there has never been one. He then proceeded to threaten me saying a judgment will be put on my report as a public record. I became so angry I hung, but then called back and asked the name of the firm, which he would not tell me and proceeded to hang up on me. I called back 5 more times asking for his company 's information and to let me speak with his supervisor, which he just kept hanging up on me. I was finally able to at least get the name of the firm on the last phone call. The firm 's name is XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I have had a Discover card for 7 years and have paid on time with auto payments the whole time, never missing a payment. Recently, I received noticed that my account had been charged off to an attorney 's office by Discover. This had taken me by surprise as I have a long history with Discover as a good and on-time payer, and I still believed auto-pay to be functioning as it had been for the past 5+ years. I have received XXXX communication from Discover prior to or after the account was written off. Discover refuses to address the issue of why my auto pay was turned off and why I didn't receive any notice by mail of the charge off or autopay termination. They have erroneously reported the account as delinquent and it is now negatively affecting my credit score. I am able to settle my account and would like to return to the way things were before the lack of Discovers communication. I can take action on my end but I would like to see Discover take accountability for the poor communication, reinstate my card, and remove the error in credit reporting. If this can be done, I can provide positive feedback on this case or cancel this complaint continuing my former good relationship with Discover.
