Consumer Complaint: Due to repeated customer service issues and payments not being credited correctly despite being listed as posted, discover is refusing to credit my bill with the posted payments. They repeatedly lie that it is returned for nsf. I have on average 1.5 to 2x the entire limit of the card in my account at any given moment. they keep cancelling my autopay. Customer service has repeatedly treated me like an XXXX at both the first and second levels of support.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I filed a dispute with Discover Card for item I didnt receive. Discover card stated denial for it charge being valid. I called and refiled dispute as merchant ( XXXX ) wouldnt help with refund despite provisional refund but then retracted and said item I pre-ordered earlier this year wasnt XXXX guaranteed. Seller didnt state when they would ship, refund and on XX/XX/23 stated via XXXX message sorry I dont have it. I sent order, messages and made a formal dispute letter with Discover. Discover still denied my dispute. I just received an email message today my dispute was denied. Discover card wanted a letter Im due a refund. Seller didnt try to even notify when they would ship as they never had the item as they messaged me that. I filed a complaint with FTC, contacted XXXX seller and Discover card. I even contacted Discover and have messages about concerns this wasnt properly investigated as they asked me for a tracking number. I dont have one as seller never followed FTC rule to contact me if theres a delay if I want to wait, when they would ship or refund. Discover card I dont feel made an effort to help me with this. I even sent messages I talked on chat with XXXX on XXXX about not getting items and he acknowledged. I have reference numbers of talking with representatives from XXXX and it didnt matter. Discover card wants a letter that Im due a refund. I call XXXX and all they sent was purchase order and that shows it was paid for but not shipped. XXXX will not cooperate so Discover card stated insufficient evidence. The seller clearly didnt ship item and will not refund me. Discover Card did not mail me evidence of why they denied my dispute twice. I paid XXXX for items never even shipped. I feel scammed and FTC rule was not followed abs Discover card will not help.

Issue: Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage
Subissue: Application denials
Consumer Complaint: Applied for Discover XXXX XXXX back on XX/XX/XXXX. I felt that it was a good time with credit scores of XXXX. I had been researching options for a few months before choosing Discover. After starting the process I begin to get the requested paperwork in order. Two items that I couldn't supply was a bank statement with {$7400.00} and XXXX tax returns. The funds were available in my XXXX statement but not XXXX. I transferred funds to the account to meet the request but was told it needed to be on a statement. I asked if I could supply proof from a business I owned but was told it had to have my name on the statement not the business, I told them I couldn't supply until XX/XX/XXXX when the statement closed. There was an extension on filling my XXXX taxes which explanation was provided. They told me to supply XXXX & XXXX taxes which I did. Once I received the statement showing three times more than they required ; also provided a paid in full letter for a loan in good standing which I felt showed responsibility and preparation to accept a larger loan with smaller payment. On XX/XX/XXXX I received email that I was denied, which stated I could call for explanation. During talking to the officer he stated, 1 ) That I needed to have 2 months with the funds in my account, which I was only told to have the {$7400.00} in the account. 2 ) He also said not having overtime on my W2 check stubs, which shows XXXX earnings YTD. 3 ) That my XXXX was to high, which I know is not accurate. 4 ) My business took a loss per my tax returns, which I provided a P & L statement for XXXX showing a profit. I did not understand this considering they wouldn't let me use statements to help me but are using the taxes against me. Other things had been mentioned also. 5 ) For the PIF they needed to show funds in the bank account, which this personal loan was used to strategically boost my business in XXXX. My business has been paying this loan since I received the funds which showed in the XXXX & XXXX statement for XXXX and if allowed in the business bank statements. The business paid off the loan in full. Personally I did not understand and waited to receive the denial letter for explanation. None of the information received over the phone was included in the letter to prompt this complaint. I would like the method used to make this decision to be investigated. No option was offered as it stated on their website. Wasn't asked if I wanted to add my wife on which is more income.

Consumer Complaint: I would like to formally express my deep disappointment and concern regarding the recent handling of a transaction dispute by Discover. As a longstanding and loyal cardholder, I am dismayed by the lack of thorough investigation into the matter at hand. It is disheartening to find that such a situation has arisen, particularly given my history of responsible card usage and prompt payments. This incident has forced me into a position where I must take the step of filing a public complaint. I believe that a credit card company with a reputation as reputable as yours should uphold the highest standards of customer service and investigative diligence. This recent experience has regrettably fallen far short of those expectations. I sincerely hope that my concerns will be taken seriously and addressed promptly. My intention in filing this complaint is not only to rectify the situation but also to help ensure that such oversights do not occur in the future, both for myself and for other loyal customers who place their trust in your company.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX, I took out a Discover student loan to attend graduate courses at XXXX University. In XXXX, I dropped down to less than half time due to health issues, and the loan went into repayment without my knowledge. Discover sent me an email saying they were going to charge off my loan on XX/XX/XXXX. But then the charge-off never happened. Now they are sending me emails saying they want to charge it off now. I went online to look at my credit report, and the company only has the loan information from XXXX on there. Theres no missed payment information from XXXX. I called the company once before to discuss this, and they were threatening me over the phone, so I decided to never contact them again about it since they dont want to help people. I was struggling with health issues, wasnt working, and couldnt afford the payments. ( I was staying with my boyfriend at the time who was supporting me. ) They just want to bully and intimidate you into giving them money that you dont have. My first missed payment was in XXXX or XXXX I believe, after I had dropped down to part-time. I believe the company is dragging out the process as a deceptive practice to buy them more time to collect from me, as the statute of limitations is 7 years, which their 7 years is already up if the repayment started in XXXX. Attached is an email I found from XX/XX/XXXX saying that I had a missed payment. I know I had some starting in XXXX or XXXX though. Also attached is the email from them saying they were going to charge off the account on XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX, and my current Discover card account number is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I have experienced unauthorized and fraudulent activities on my account, and I am seeking your assistance in investigating and resolving this issue. The unauthorized transactions in question occurred as follows : 1. On XX/XX/XXXX, an amount of {$2500.00} was charged to my Discover card ending in XXXX. 2. On XX/XX/XXXX, another unauthorized transaction amounting to {$2900.00} took place. 3. On XX/XX/XXXX, a third unauthorized transaction occurred, totaling {$2200.00}. I wish to emphasize that these transactions were conducted without my authorization or knowledge. I have not shared my card details or approved any such transactions. It appears that my identity was compromised, and the fraudulent activities were carried out by an unauthorized individual. In addition, I suspect that the One-Time Password ( OTP ) codes required for approval of these transactions were sent to a phone number other than mine, specifically to ( XXXX ) XXXX which I havent been using for a long time. I do not utilize this phone number for any financial transactions, and I believe that my phone number might have been compromised in the process. It is my concern that the perpetrator may have exploited this situation to create fake XXXX accounts and subsequently misuse them for fraudulent purposes. My daughter was always managing my payments so I wasnt aware that my cards were fraudulently swiped by someone.
