Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MA XXXX I called this office several times to make a payment, only to be told that, I cant discuss this account with you, and being told that your account is in review. I was told that an Attorney would have to review my account. I asked the representative, " Can I make a payment to you today '', the answer was " no, I can't take a payment ''. I offered to make payments, offered to give you bank information to make an immediate payment. The XXXX XXXX XXXX representative refused my payment. Therefore, on XX/XX/XXXX, I called Discover and made a payment of {$1600.00}. Discover took my payment information and sent me an email confirmation of payment. However Discover did not post my payment. I have confirmation that Discover took my payment, however they refused to post it to my account. In the meantime, they are reporting me to be 90 days late. These actions are WRONG! I have contacted The Attorney Generals office in Massachusetts and Florida to investigate this matter. Your records should reflect the number of times Ive called to make a payment. I didnt know that you could deny my payments and report me late to the credit bureaus. I have proof that I tried to pay this account.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: This complaint is in regard to the harassment, negligence, and discrimination I have experienced with Discover Bank and their illegal debt collection practices. On the XXXX of XX/XX/2023, I was served papers from a debt collector, claiming to be representing Discover Bank, for an attempt to collect a debt that is not owed. According to the FDCPA, a debt collector may not use any false, deceptive, or misleading representation or means in connection with collection of debt. I was not given any communication or any proper notice for the validation of debts before being wrongfully sued for this alleged debt obligation by Discover, in accordance to 15 U.S. Code 1692 and 12 CFR 1006.34 ( a ), nor did I receive any of the required disclosures, in pursuant to 12 CFR 1006.42. With that being said, I promptly responded to their court summons with the magistrate court and I sent a copy of my answer to Discover and their lawyers, along with a debt validation letter and a cease and desist. On the day of the hearing, Discover 's attorney didn't even have a copy of my response nor did he have any of the letters I sent them, which was by certified mail. It is now the end of XXXX and I have not received any of the documentation that I rightfully requested by law. Discover and their lawyers have ignored all of my attempts to get this debt properly verified, and have violated many of my privacy and consumer rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I have called Discover multiple times trying to gather more information by my own merit and even their customer service team has no information on the account number they provided. Discover and their representatives are worsening my financial burdens. I have had this alleged debt obligation weighing on my mental health for over 3 months now. They are wrongfully attempting to collect a debt that is not owed and are harassing me for monies they can't even verify in their own system. This entire ordeal has been sketchy in manner, unprofessional and unlawful, most importantly. There is no proof of this alleged debt obligation and I am tired of being ignored. Discover is not operating in the covenant of good faith and fair dealing with their consumers!

Consumer Complaint: The existence of a derogatory rating on my account is causing me significant concern. I am deeply worried about its potential impact on my credit. It has already resulted in the denial of a recent loan application and an increase in the interest rates on my existing credit accounts. I want to emphasize the severe financial and emotional distress that this negative rating has caused me and will continue to cause until it is resolved.

It has been almost a whole year since I have been disputing this and nobody has helped. {$17000.00} is not a small amount, so I need to be reimbursed!
