Consumer Complaint: My social security number was a victim of identity theft. I have reported this and sent police reports and ftc identity theft reports several times to discover and Ive been told that they would delete this account. I was told it was marked out as fraud and deleted, yet discover is still reporting this fraudulent account six months later. This is a violation of the FCRA, and a violation of all of my consumer rights. This needs to be deleted immediately and removed from my credit report permanently

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2024, an application for credit was done over the phone, reference number : XXXX. I provided an application, turned it into a promissory note, something of value. AND RECIPIENT DID NOT PROVIDE ANYTHING OF VALUE BACK TO ME. I made two phone calls with discover credit account services. TOLD ME THE CREDIT FACTORS DETERMINED CREDIT LINE. HOWEVER COLLATERAL HAS BEEN PROVIDED, equity is had been provided which means the account shouldve been approved and remedy of this is necessary. Both of them told me there was nothing they could do for me, the supervisor of the department told me she understood the validity of the claim, the value in my application, and the credit line that shouldve been provided to me. Because I have given something of value, a security, and have not received anything in return. Which is bottom line securities fraud, for my open ended consumer account which should have been opened. I am an investor per their prospectus, I have provided a promissory note and that is a security which provides all collateral necessary for the opening of the open ended credit account.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Funds not handled or disbursed as instructed
Consumer Complaint: I received a promotion from Discover through email stating that my account was targeted for a promotion and that if I deposited {$25000.00} in new funds into my account by XX/XX/XXXX and held them there through XX/XX/ that I would get a {$200.00} bonus on or before XX/XX/. On XX/XX/, I contacted Discover to verify that if I initiated a transfer that day I would qualify for the promotion and their representative said that I absolutely would get the bonus if I went through with the transfer. Knowing that, I went ahead and transferred {$25000.00} into my Discover account online through Discover 's website. I did not receive the bonus by XXXX, so I called Discover on XX/XX/. They initiated an internal dispute and then I received a letter dated XX/XX/ stating that I " did not meet the promotional criteria. '' It did not say why. I am very upset that Discover does not honor its own promotions, and that a representative told me my account was specifically targeted for this promotion. The only reason I transferred over {$25000.00} to Discover was to receive the promotion bonus. I was mislead and lied to! This was a bait & switch. I am very upset and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Financial institutions shouldn't be allowed to do this!
