Issue: Struggling to pay your loan
Subissue: Denied request to lower payments
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I purchased a XXXX XXXX through Credit Acceptance Corporation. The price of the contracted vehicle was XXXX, me not knowing that the interest was almost the same as the contracted price. I had just come out of bankruptcy and needed a vehicle to go back and forth to work. This is XX/XX/XXXX and I have had to make several payment arrangements to try to keep up the car payments. The problem is I have been having bad issues with the car. As of now when I am driving the car it sounds like the rear end is literally going to fall off. I have not had the car a year yet. On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Credit acceptance to inform them of this problem and that I needed help, they did try to break my bill down to paying XXXX a week, then XXXX a week, now XXXX a week. Which was still a struggle. Again on XX/XX/XXXX I contacted them again about the problem and asked about refinancing information or trade in information through there company because at this point the car in a lemon and the price is to high. If the car did not have these problems and the price was just a little less I would not have a problem with keeping my obligation. When I asked for this information I was told she could not help me with these things and that I could go to the company website for information, which I did but it was not helpful.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to seek your assistance regarding an issue I have been facing with my credit report. In 2015, I experienced a sudden job loss which severely impacted my financial situation. As a result, I found myself unable to keep up with my payments, including those to Credit Acceptance. Recognizing my difficult circumstances, Credit Acceptance kindly offered to settle the outstanding balance. However, they advised me to contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ( CFPB ) to request the removal of this information from my credit reports.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I purchased a car on XX/XX/2020. XXXX days after I purchased this car, I was in an accident and the car was totaled. I had insurance on this purchase as well. I completed everything I needed to with the insurance company to get the car paid off and have the account settled. There was a {$2700.00} shortage on what was paid out to what was owed. Credit acceptance didn't even let me know I had a balance owed to them. i checked my credit report and i saw XXXX, 90 day late payments on my account with credit acceptance. this doesn't even make any sense as I have XXXX - XXXX and XXXX - 60 day lates, only 90 day lates. Once I found out about this, I paid the account off with the settled amount and the balance is now {$0.00} but i am still feeling the pain of these XXXX, 90 day lates on my credit report today and this doesn't make any sense as the communication wasn't there on any of this.
