Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX I purchased a XXXX with over XXXX miles on it from XXXX, a used car dealership located on XXXX in XXXX, NY. It had a high monthly payment, but I needed a car to get to and from a part time XXXX position and was credit was not great so I signed. The beginning of the XXXX month the called stopped on an expressway ... if I did not pull over quickly, I would have been in a horrible accident. It was towed by this XXXX and I was told it needed a belt and alternator. They fixed it with no charge to me. Next, I am informed that XXXX went our of business and that XXXX ( located on XXXX, in XXXX., NY was now taking over for them. Now they told me I needed an oil change, some filter, etc and I paid {$160.00} for this since these items were not under warranty. This same thing happened again twice at about 4 months ; car was towed again to the XXXX since they took over for the defunct XXXX. I know it was electrical, but XXXX would not admit to it. Whatever they did to my car and would not admit, the car was OK ... no more stopping and shutting off. By XX/XX/XXXX I needed a new battery and paid over {$200.00} for it. This XXXX has ( 3 ) batteries, 1-in front ; l in the rear ( trunk ) and one running along the undercarriage which I was never informed about. Next by our first storm, I needed tires, all four for this car. By this time, I had this vehicle for about 7 months. If I keep this car ( on a 5 year payment plan for $ XXXX ), I would be paying at the end of 5 years, {$16.00}, XXXX for a car which I found out is only worth at max. is {$3300.00} On XX/XX/XXXX, this vehicle was rear ended by a snow plow ... the driver had no insurance for Business Use! Credit Acceptance wanted it fixed by who ever. I will have to take this truck and driver to court.

Consumer Complaint: This is what happened. I had been leased for a car back in XXXX XXXX. I did n't know know anything about the creditor nor the bank that the dealer had done my loan account and amount for the loan I was asking for. I have never had the copy of the contract for the vehicle or loan. All I was giving was the application I did n't fill out. It was all electronic and electronically signed by the dealer. Until XXXX XXXX I was barely able to make the payments. I looked over the paperwork that the dealer had given me and the only thing correct on the application for the car loan and for the vehicle was where I was employed. My monthly income, when I started my employer, and my housing situation was all false information. I called the creditor to explain to then that the information was incorrect. They would n't change it nor listen to what I had to say. They claimed to have a paystub that I did not give them. The paystub they had informed me that I had gave them was dated for XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I had n't even spoke to them let alone fax such a paystub. I 'm very upset now because they finally came and reposes the vehicle after I had explain to them to come take the car back in XXXX XXXX. I can no longer get my personal belonging from the vehicle. I do n't car about the car itself. I just would like my personal belongings from the vehicle. The creditor who hired the repossession never contacted me so i was able to get my belongings out of the car. In fact I still have the key to the car. When I was at the dealer I was informed that there was only XXXX key and that was it. I never had duplicate. So currently i had to quit my job because I 'm not able to get to my employer. I ca n't get any of my personal belongings from the car because the company who took it for the creditor will not even contact me back about my belongings and I would never be able to get to the place the vehicle was take to. I need help to get this taken care of and I 'm a poor college student. I 'm having to move as soon as my current school semester is over in XXXX XXXX because I have been homeless sense last XXXX XXXX. I was actually sleeping in the car they had reposes. Credit Acceptance, home-base of XXXX Michigan is the worst

Consumer Complaint: My auto loan is due on the XX/XX/XXXX ND of each month I talked to them several times letting them know my situation has changed. After a year of continuous on time payments I have only been late 3 or 4 times. They start to call on the XXXX and call all the way even on Sundays which that is against the law I thought for Texas. One day they even called continuous just because I owed a late charge of XXXX. That 's after I made a payment 2 days before. They also harrass my wife 's phone at XXXX XXXX XXXX. Why do they call her since they say she could n't be on the loan. What can I do? The name of the company is credit acceptance @ XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I XXXX XXXX file this notice with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as a measure to request a federal consumer advocacy agency to oversee a collection matter I believe to be unfair and technically illegal. I have attached a copy of a XXXX XXXX, 2016 letter whereas I stipulated the legal requirements on any vehicle repossession. I would agree to settle this matter with certified funds of {$1000.00} if Credit Acceptance would essentially communicate with me. They have not answered my letters and I believe that my offer is more than reasonable under the circumstances. However, I am 100 % in the right on the requirements on any vehicle repossession. That is a violation under New York State collection guidelines and the national Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Accordingly, I offer {$1000.00} certified funds to resolve this matter in the best interest of both parties, and I request that settlement offer in written form as soon as possible.

Consumer Complaint: I purchased my vehicle from Credit Acceptance Corporation in XXXX 2013. I recently fell behind on my payments by 45 days. On XXXX XXXX around XXXX XXXX XXXX. they repossessed my vehicle. I was supposed to be notified by letter 24 hours prior to this according to NY State law. I called Credit Acceptance immediately and was told I owed {$670.00} ( XXXX payments plus late fees ) I made and arrangement to pay on XXXX XXXX, which I did ( less than 48 hours later ). I was told by the loan company that I could pick up my vehicle and to call the towing company to make arrangements. When I called I was told that my vehicle had been picked up by the auction company that morning. I made 5 more calls to Credit Acceptance on Friday trying to locate my vehicle. I was first told it was n't at the auction house yet. I requested an address, which they said they could not give me. I was then told they could not contact them and Someone would call me back, which they never did.. Finally I was told that they were closed for the day and to call back Monday. I called 3 times Monday XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX XXXX finally getting my vehicle released. I was told it was now in XXXX, NY ( XXXX miles away ). I made arrangements to pick it up Wednesday XXXX. I was told that the plates had been removed and to contact the towing company in XXXX, NY. I now have to take an afternoon off work to travel to XXXX, incur fuel and toll charges AND I was charged an additions {$85.00} by my loan company for transportation.

Consumer Complaint: I was 15 days late on my car payment and credit acceptance took my car in XXXX illegally without sending me any notice that they were going to do it, I called credit acceptance and asked them why did they take my vehicle. They said because I had a late payment and that they have a right to pick up the vehicle when it 's a late payment. I went and got my car back the same day, I had to pay towing, storage, and a repossession fee as well as the 15 days that I was late, plus the payment that was coming up before the due date.
