Consumer Complaint: I bought a car from XXXX XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. The vehicle purchased was a XXXX XXXX XXXX with XXXX miles. I drove the car home and it stalled on me and was hard to restart once I made it back to my residence. Once I got it restarted it drove a bit but was hard to restart once I shut it off and tried to crank it up again. The next day it barely cranked over after numerous attempts it finally caught. I received a call from the lending bank ( Credit Acceptance Corporation ) and they wanted to verify my information before funding the deal. I did not verify my information with them because of the problems I just inherited. So I spoke with the rep for XXXX minute or less on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. XXXX XXXX called immediately after hanging up with CAC and wanted me to call them back and verify my info and I said I could n't and was told to tell the bank I gave {$3000.00} for a down payment. However, I did no such thing. I gave XXXX XXXX a {$700.00} down payment and was scheduled to make another payment of {$500.00} for a down payment not {$3000.00}. They submitted paperwork to CAC stating I gave {$3000.00} in cash and that is a lie. CAC went through with the verification process without my consent and funded this deal and I have a account open with CAC where I am on the hook for {$18000.00}. This I found out after I took the car back to XXXX XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and told them I did not want the car because of the issues I had the first day taking it home. They told they would look at it and fix it but I told them do n't bother I do n't want the car anymore because the deal was not completed ( verified by the bank and I ). XXXX XXXX lied about the down payment I gave, CAC accepted the lie and I am told I am stuck with the product of a fraudulent deal.

Consumer Complaint: I had this car payment and was never late for XXXX years. In year XXXX I ran into hardship and moved to a different state due to a domestic voilance situation. After being back the car was repossessed. I was able to borrow money to get the van back. Mean time I was diagnosed with XXXX and been going through XXXX and XXXX treatments and been doing my best to pay the payments. There were times I would call the institution and was not able to reach anyone after calling cause being on hold for hours, or even not able to get a ring tone. So it was not let even through all that has been going on with my health hat I did not try. Even on my lowest my sister had called for me in early XX/XX/XXXX this year to try and get some information so that I could get help and they told her they could not give her any information. She just wanted to know how much more was owed on the van. That 's not personal information and should of been released to her due to if a car dealer would of called they would of told them and I would n't of had to be there. On the XX/XX/XXXX I was able to get someone on the phone and ask if there was anyway due to the fact that of in XX/XX/2017 the van would be at the be of the loan they could please work with me and that I was finished my XXXX and getting back on my feet with everything that has happened. I was told if I could come up with {$300.00} they would n't take the van. She did n't know when they were coming to get the van. Well later that night the van was taken. I was able to borrow more money they demanded in order to get the van back, went to the payment location, even though there was some miscommunication they could clearly see the payment was made it took one day after for everything was able to get situated. I get a phone call that I can go and get my van. When I call the to get the address so that I could go pick it up. I was told the van was on it 's way to the auction. The payment was made now I '' getting the run a round. I feel like I 'm a victim of a predictor lender that no matter what my rate will keep going up and no matter how hard I would try I will never be able to pay this van off. I already paid this car XXXX over I believe.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I financed a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX from Credit Acceptance Corporation. On XXXX XXXX, XXXX a district court judge in XXXX XXXX, XXXX, through a civil court proceeding, awarded aforementioned XXXX XXXX to my ex fiance, XXXX XXXX. She was ( under civil contempt of court ) to refinance the vehicle, and assume any back payments. XXXX XXXX failed to do so. In XXXX of XXXX the vehicle was repossessed from her residence in XXXX, XXXX. Credit Acceptance Corp then attempted to sue me in XXXX XXXX XXXX via a third party collections Law office ( XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX. ) I was living in the State of XXXX, and had been for three years. This is a venue violation under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act ( FDCPA ). I never received service of process. Rather, my father was served a summons for my appearance at his home residence, in XXXX. He opened the correspondence. This is another FDCPA violation, as I never gave permission to account details to be disclosed to any third parties. I notified the firm ( XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX ) that I did not reside in XXXX, and provided them proof of such. They then ad my father served again before sending me a letter stating that they were dismissing the case they had filed against me in XXXX XXXX, XXXX court, and had forwarded my file back to the original creditor. I heard nothing for some time and disputed this account with the credit reporting bureau, XXXX. The creditor then changed the account from charged off to repossessed, which caused my FICO score to go down over XXXX points. This account is seriously hindering my abilities to acquire any lines of credit at this point, whatsoever. Credit Acceptance Corp then filed my account with the offices of XXXX and XXXX in XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I contacted them to dispute the account, and advise them that I had moved back to XXXX state, and had been here for several months I was told that they too had filed suit against me in XXXX XXXX, XXXX ... a county I had not resided in for over a year. They advised me to forward them the papers from the court, showing that I had been released from my obligations with regard to the aforementioned vehicle. I fulfilled their request and was told that I would be contacted back within 5 days. I heard nothing. After several months, I contacted Credit Acceptance Corp, to inquire as to the status of my dispute. I was told by the representative that the account was being handled by their " in-house legal team '' and should be expecting another suit shortly, as they never received any paperwork regarding a dispute from XXXX and XXXX, and " did n't believe that I actually had any such paperwork. '' ( Again, I never received service of process, with regard to suit being filed against me. ) I have never been treated with anything other than rude, ignorant language by any Credit Acceptance Corporation representative, and have a suspicion that most of their csr 's work from home, as I 've had conversations in which I 've been able to hear other people discussing non business related topics, and have even heard children yelling and fussing in the background. I feel their business practices are completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. I am not responsible for this debt, and am sick of being threatened with lawsuits by this company and their hired, XXXX party thugs. I am attaching the documentation from XXXX XXXX district court to this complaint, proving that a judge released me from all obligations to this account. I would like this permanently removed from my XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX credit reports, at very least, and feel that {$1000.00} in damages per violation comitted under the Fair Debt collections Practices act is duly owed at this point in time.

Consumer Complaint: I recently received a statement from the IRS claiming I suddenly had a {$900.00} tax bill from XXXX. The year I 'm writing this statement is XXXX. Apparently, Credit Acceptance filed a XXXX for an account I may have had 15 years ago. I 'm not really sure when I had an account but I know for a fact that I have n't had an account with this company within the last 7 years. I am in the process of buying a home ( timing could n't be more perfect ) and I 've been monitoring my credit for the last 5 years to qualify for a mortgage. Therefore this claim would have shown up. Credit Acceptance claimed over {$3800.00} of my debt was forgiven. Thus leaving me with more income than originally stated, creating a {$900.00} tax bill. These types of bogus accounting tactics should be removed from our court systems.. I have faith the IRS will investigate the legitimacy of the false claim, however Credit Acceptance 's financial records need to be reviewed with a fine tooth comb. If anyone reading this has suffered the same fate, you can file a XXXX complaint ( XXXX 'Form XXXX ' ) with the IRS and maybe everything will work out ....

Consumer Complaint: Hello i applied a loan from CAC credit acceptance Corporation for a loan on a car at XXXX based on my credit score, i being a first time buyer was unaware of the consequences with CAC, after the purchase of my car with in the first week my car was involved in a accident XXXX which i was n't at fault with and was considered a total loss, i reported to XXXX on the same day on the site of the accident at the time of the incident and took care of the issue i have n't even received my license plates, and CAC was also notified with this incident and has still reported a late fee which i did n't have to pay, i was sure about most of the new car payments start with 30-45 day after the purchase of the car, the most shocking thing wass i have n't received any of their CAC payment check books till last week, and they expect me to pay which i was n't notified at all, the last thing i was also shocked about that they have really messed up my credit score i was building by reporting that i have n't made a payment XXXX that my loan was n't cleared as they have cashed the check that XXXX has sent, and that their systems still has n't fixed that issue, which dully brought my credit score horribly low, all i'am asking for is justice and a fair play, and not to do this with the new comers who just started to work as well as to a person who just got a new credit card.
